Mercury content and speciation analysis in polypore samples from differently polluted areas of Bohemia
Švehla, Jaroslav ; Kratzer, Jan ; Lepšová, A. ; Svoboda, Karel
Polypores can serve as long-term bioindicators of air pollution by heavy metals. The aim of this work was to investigate their potential to monitor concentration of mercury species in the air.

Generation of NPS for Exposure Experiments from Copper Acetylacetone.
Moravec, P. ; Schwarz, J. ; Vodička, P. ; Kupčík, Jaroslav ; Švehla, J.
Particles containing copper are emitted from smelters, iron foundries, power stations, and municipal incinerators (WHO, 1998) and also from brake linings during breaking, Kukutschová et al. (2011). Nanoparticles (NPs) of copper are ingredients in polymers, inks, and bioactive coatings inhibiting the growth of microorganisms, Cioffi at al. (2005), and CuO NPs has been used in antimicrobial textiles, Gabbay and Borkow (2006), therefore they can be easily inhaled. Even though CuO NPs were found highly toxic, Karlsson et al. (2008), in vivo studies of their toxicity are still rather rare. In this work we tested a method of long lasting nanoparticle generation from copper acetylacetonate (CuAA) for use in follow up exposure experiments with laboratory animals. The exposure chamber for inhalation experiments was constructed in the Institute of Analytical Chemistry AS CR (Večeřa et al., 2011) and some methods of NPs generation for these experiments were already tested in our laboratory (Moravec et al., 2015, Moravec et al., 2016).

Implement Android Application for Download and Listening to Audio Podcasts
Švehla, Ján ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
This master's thesis is aimed at the problems and issues which are encountered over the development of application for mobile devices. An application for managing and listening of audio podcasts was chosen to be developed. This thesis will guide the reader through general topics and issues of "User Experience" research, its usage and specification on mobile devices and actual design and the implementation of developed application. Results of this work can be used for the development of applications with respect to user centered design.
3D Object Rendering into Real Environments Using Mobile Devices
Re Vision
Švehla, Jakub ; Šrámek, Jan (referee) ; Kögler, Žaneta (advisor)
In form of 3D animation the thesis depicts the steps of mankind towards the expansion of civilization beyond planet Earth. Chronologically it exposes essential moments of technological development (in major) preceding the journey for the distant planets. Images of today's state of civilization are combined with constructions of former theoretical concepts and with fully fictitious elements to form visuals illustrating the roadmap to extraterrestrial expansion.
Catalogue of aquatic hemipterans of family Pleidae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Nepomorpha): biology, list of species, distribution, key.
ŠVEHLA, Jiří
Aquatic hemipterans of the family Pleidae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Nepomorpha) represent a not very well explored group of water insect. Pleidae (Pygmy backswimmers) are tiny (1 ? 3 mm) hemipterans living mostly on the submerged vegetation of lentic water systems. The family is cosmopolitan, but the only species we can find in the Czech Republic is Plea minutissima, which is the most researched one(together with Neoplea striola). This family consists of 33 valid species divided into four generas ? Plea Leach, 1817, Neoplea Esaki a China, 1928, Paraplea Esaki a China, 1928 and Heteroplea Cook, 2011 according to the recent status of knowledge. This thesis is the very first attempt to create a complete catalogue of species in this family. It deals with a list of species, species distribution and key to the genera and species of Pleidae. The list of literature represents bibliography of family.
Negative impact of massmedia communication tools
ŠVEHLA, Jiří
The bachelor thesis ?Negative impact of mass media communication tools? is concerned with typology of media and their influence on contemporary consumers and mainly on youth. It analyses in detail particular types of media, their development and influence. The thesis is focused on two types of media - mature and youth. Mature media send information in one way, whilst youth media can communicate all directions. The thesis is also aimed at the relationship between the new communication possibilities and culture. The paper contains a practical part which includes controlled dialogue with pupils of the ninth grade of the primary school and the interpretation of the dialogue.
