Prevention of addictions among pupils with hearing disability

The thesis deals with the prevention of dependencies for pupils with hearing disabilities. The work describes the specifics of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention and focuses on the State of awareness and of preventive measures on the individual schools for the hearing impaired in Prague. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part, which is processed primarily on the basis of the study of literature, contains a general treatise on the auditory disability, a description of the different kinds of dependencies with their consequences and an overview of the possible types of prevention. The practical part is devoted to research through interviews and a questionnaire, which is focused on finding, comparing and quantitative evaluation of the awareness of pupils of various dependencies and their prevention in schools for the hearing impaired in Prague. Education for girls with Rett syndrome

The aim of this work is to enable a person to perceive and understand the specific features of behaviour of girls having Rett syndrome and to offer effective options for activities and effort in the process of education. The substance of the collection of suggestions and proposals for actions and activities as well as tools and equipment sorted according to equipment and objects used at a special needs education primary school. Practical advice, recommendations and suggestions are based on theoretical grounds and basis, particular examples or photo documentation. The work is founded on study cases of two girls with Rett syndrome where there are not only the girls' results and evaluations in the educational process described but also the personal stories of their families and different way of dealing with the tough life situations. The work results enable to discover a suitable attitude not only towards the girls but as well to their parents, siblings or classmates. Institutional care of seniors in The Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the issue of institutional care for the elderly in the country. The main goal of this work was to perform a general discourse in the current state of institutional care for the elderly in the country. The secondary objective is to suggest a possible application of special educationalists within accomodational services for health and social services. The main research method was used the analysis and compilation of 168 expert papers. The work is internally divided into seven chapters. The first one deals with the methodology and objectives of the work. The second presents data on age and aging. The third is focused on general aspects of institutional care. The fourth chapter introduces the reader to the current state of health services with a focus on hospice. The fourth chapter discusses the social services especially for elderly homes. The fifth chapter deals with the care of the dying senior and sixth chapter presents the author's conception of a possible application of special educationalists within the accomodational and health services. What is it like to be a father in a family with a child with severe visual impairment

The topic of this thesis is the situation of families with children having severe visual or multiple disabilities, examined from the father's standpoint. The aim of this thesis is to map out (explore) the lives of fathers whose children have severe visual impairments or multiple disabilities from their subjective point of view. The focus will be on the process of accepting disabled children, the fathers' experiences, their behavior and expectations in relation to the children, their spouse / partner and other family members. In addition, the focus will be on their view of the relationship between the larger society and individuals with disabilities, including organizations dealing with this issue. For the purposes of qualitative research "What it is like to be a father whose child has a severe visual impairment," a method of semi-structured interviews for data collection will be used. Readiness of kindergarten on inclusive education for children with visual impairments in the South Bohemian Region

This submitted thesis deals with the exclusive education of kindergarten aged children. The main purpose of this thesis is to chart the preparedness of the kindergarteners for inclusive education of children with visual impairment in the South Bohemian Region. The subject is being processed according to theoretical and practical background of special education and related fields. The researched area of interest is judged on a basis of set conditions based on a concept of inclusive pedagogy. Analysis of the questionnaire research is bringing a view of preschool educators who have experience with the education of children with visual impairment. Examples of good practice are presented, which complement and support a view of information gained with first grade educators, who also have experience with teaching visual impaired children. Outcomes for practice are made as Activities Concepts or children with visual impairments. Concepts are created as suggestions or inspiration for kindergarten educators, where there are visually impaired children. Activities are created so they can be applied throughout the day care centre's routine, and involves the participation of all preschool children.
Parental experiences: the inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorder in mainstream education in Romania

The education of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has been debated intensively throughout past and recent years. The dramatic increase of the ASD incidence as well as the international focus on inclusion and inclusive education has generated a rapidly growing body of research. In the Romanian context also, numerous parents' NGO's have signalled the growing of the ASD incidence and acted as promoters and advocates of inclusion. Although, internationally, parental experiences about the inclusion of children with ASD have been investigated, in the Romanian context, such studies are scarce. Specific inquiries regarding the role of the parents of children with disabilities in general and the role of the parents of children with ASD in particular, have not been undertaken. The purpose of this study was to investigate how the parents of children with ASD experienced the inclusion of their children into general education settings as well as how they experienced inclusive and hindering practices. A qualitative study was undertaken based on semi-structured interviews. Six interviews were carried out involving seven biological parents of children with ASD.
