Assessment of the textbook "Comparative Anatomy of the Vertebrates"

he textbook The Comparative Anatomy of Vertebrates gives an historic survey of the vertebrate body evolution in a brief form. The textbook is devoted to the Natural History students of the Charles University that are grammar school teachers of the future. The book consist of eleven chapters containing a comparative anatomy of vertebrates. The names of the single chapters are as follows: 1. Early development of vertebrates, 2. Skeleton, 3. Muscular system, 4. Digestive system, 5. Respiratory system, 6. Circulatory system, 7. Urogenital system, 8. Skin, 9. Nervous system, 10. Sense organs and 11. Endocrine organs. The topic of the textbook is focused on a new knowlege based on the recent research in evolutionary biology. The second part containes the feed back assessment of the knowlege based on the evaluation the tests written by students before the lessons of the comparative anatomy and after it. The main aim of the textbook was to inform the students about new 1 indings in the comparative anatomy.

Rescue Stations for Wounded and Disabled Animals and Following the Daily Activities of Pigeons at Rescue Stations in Jinonicíce

The dissertation discusses first - aid stations for injuried and handicapped animals. The first part describes the origin of the National Net of Stations for injuried and animals handicapped otherwise (NNS), the activity and function of these stations and conditions that a station must fulfil to be accepted in the National Net of Stations. The second part of the dissertation discusses observation of pigeons in the first - aid station in Jinonice and describes this station. The pigeons were signed and after this they were observed and their activity was noted down. When compared to other specialist literature, no new information was found, the pigeons spend their time mostly bysleeping or sunbathing. The text contains return reports of birds ringed in Jinonice station and charts of surveys of recieved, decayed and released animals from the NNS. The sence of the dissertation rests in charting the net of stations for handicapped animals, their cooperation with schools and mentioned methodology of tagging pigeons. Methods of observing animals and their realization can be interpolated to biology, also. The Theme of Projective Instruction with a view to Phenological Studies and their Use in Natural-Science Classes in Primary Schools

Diese Diplomarbeit heisst "Der Vorschlag der Projektunterricht mit Konzentration auf fenologische Beobachtungen im botanischen Teil des naturwissenschaftlichen Seminars auf der Grundschule". Der Autor schlägt nicht das ganze Projekt vor (der theoretische Teil), sondern er realisiert es auch in Praxis (der praktische Teil). Der detailierte theoretische Teil kennzeichnet die Methode des Projektunterricht als die spezifische moderne Bildungsstrategie im gegenwärtigen Schulwesen. Am Anfang des praktischen Teiles wird eine kleine Forschung angeführt, welche untersucht die Frekvention der fenologischen Beobachtungen im Seminarinhalt mit naturwissenschaftlichen Spezialisierung auf auserlesenen Pragischen und Mittelböhmischen Schulen. Das Projekt besteht aus einigen Teilen, welche füllen die Schüller aus während einem Kalenderjahr in dem naturwissenschaftlichen Seminar. Die Schüller stellen selbst ein Kvadratnetz her, mit dem sie ein Territorium 2 mal 2 Meter abgrenzen. Einmal in jeder Jahreszeit beobachten sie dann in diesem Gebiet die durch Klima und Wetter verursachte Naturänderungen. Ihre Arbeit wird nach den Arbeitsblättern geführt, die der Lehrer vorbereitet hat. Ausser Naturbeobachtung müssen die Schüller aber auch andere Fähigkeiten und Geschicklichkeiten beweisen (manuelle, organisatorische, soziale...)....

With the growing interest in cost saving and environmental protection we are trying to take advantage of new trends in building insulation and heating. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present the issues and options for heating these buildings using new technologies and methods, to describe the design of individual boilers, their properties and uses depending on the type of fuel, and to assess the economic performance of selected heating options for a particular building.

The work deals with the use of herb cuttings for the establishment of perennial beds. It was created to attempt a comparison with conventional planting, and these were compared with each other and evaluated. For the experiment were chosen because xerofytní perennial best use in urban areas. The work includes the methodology for the establishment and subsequent maintenance plantings. Evaluation work is a form of tables and graphs. It also discusses current trends in the use of perennials in the world.

Final thesis deals with the PDF file security. The aim of this paper is to map the security options available for this file format, deeper analyze their technical implementation, provide guidance on their usage and then test their reliability. The work is dedicated to security from the perspective of the publication of documents, i.e. the content of PDF files. It does not deal with application security, i.e. a possible attack on PDF files by malicious software. This text educates readers in the topic and its conclusion is an evaluation of security types, along with a practical set of recommendations for publishing secure PDF documents.

The Role of Multimedia in Educational Support Systems

The aim of the diploma thesis "The Role of Multimedia in Educational Support Systems" is to analyze the current role of multimedia in information systems and to explore the existent use of multimedia in the educational process at VŠE. By doing so, the reader will be presented with a comprehensive roundup of the current technological tendencies concerning multimedia and their use in the educational environment. Among the topics analyzed within the scope of the technological foundations establishing chapters are the current role of multimedia, data types, transmission channels and the digitizing process. In the subsequent section, multimedia is being perceived as a concrete tool supporting the educational process. Based on the research conducted at VŠE that analyzed the technological, financial and personnel conditions, a concept of multimedia learning model was proposed in the eighth and final chapter. The current state analysis and the proposed multimedia education model at VŠE constitute the author's principal contribution to the educational field and at the same time a starting point for a future melioration of multimedia education deployment at VŠE.

Technologie pro podporu přenosu videa ve vizuální komunikaci

Cílem práce je poskytnout čtenáři hlubší přehled o technologiích a standardech, které se uplatňují při šíření obrazových informací v podobě klasického TV vysílání, ale také v rámci multimediálních informačních systémů a poukázat přitom na jejich výhody a nevýhody, s přihlédnutím na aktuální trendy vývoje. Cíle je dosaženo prostřednictvím teoretických srovnání a praktických testů, ze kterých jsou vyvozeny závěry, vedoucí k subjektivním úvahám a doporučením. Vlastní obsah práce je rozčleněn do 9 kapitol, přičemž každá z nich se zabývá užší oblastí v rámci těchto technologií, má své dílčí cíle a různé metody jejich dosažení. Součástí práce je více než 40 obrázků, srovnávací tabulky, názory odborníků, rozsáhlá příloha a rovněž terminologický slovník, obsahující použité technické pojmy a zkratky. Práce je psána takovým stylem, který od čtenáře nevyžaduje pokročilou předchozí znalost žádných, zde popisovaných, technologií.
