Novotná, Petra ; Štefek, Martin (advisor) ; Znoj, Milan (referee)
As was shown in Czech presidential election of 2013, surprisingly, selection of candidates for Czech president seems to be quite abundantly discussed across the society. This thesis is based on observation of presidential election campaign for the presidential election of 2018 and related aspects of Czech political culture. Considering the theoretical support of my conclusions, I employed crucial works of Czech and foreign theoretist's works on political culture from the perspective of political science, sociology, history and anthropology. The purpose of this thesis is, by employing the discourse analysis, to describe, how is the presidency perceived today. Building of that, I will link these acknowledgements with some specifics of Czech/Czechoslovak president and with elements of Czech political culture, as observed since the beginning of 20th century.

Novotna, Petra
The aim of this article is to propose an approach to High-Frequency ECG (HF-ECG) preprocessing with an intention to verify the settled methods of signal preprocessing in the perspective of the new requirements and possibilities in the area of signal processing. The method using Butterworth filters is often used. Nevertheless, for the presented type of analysis is not suitable. FIR filtering alongside with clustering and signal averaging were used for preprocessing of data from isolated rabbit hearts. Frequency bands for further analysis were chosen according to the estimated SNR (signal-to-noise ratio).

Creating Memory in Public Broadcasting
Novotná, Petra ; Abu Ghosh, Yasar (advisor) ; Zandlová, Markéta (referee)
In my diploma thesis I describe the process, in which some episodes of the radio program Příběhy 20. století are made and with this example I explain, which factors can influence remembering in a medium of the public sphere and how "lieux de mémoire" occur in its broadcasting. I examine the recording of some of the narratives that can possibly be presented in the radio program, how the interviewers handle the interviewees and what motivation do they have to work in a project like this. I focus on how the stories are picked for the radio program, how are they edited, who takes part in the editing and how is it possible that they are in charge of it. My diploma thesis also includes a detailed description of the social position of Post Bellum organisation and its fundamental project Paměť národa, which are both closely connected to radio program Příběhy 20. století. In the conclusion of my thesis I deal with the fact, that this social position is one of the main elements in the process of memory making in public sphere medium, because it has an indirect impact on it. In my thesis I try to answer, what influence can the examined radio program (as part of institutionalized remembering and media communication) have on social memory.
