The Cyber Social Phenomenon of Doxing: An Examination of Hong Kong's Anti-doxing Law
Ung, Siev Thean ; Berg, Julie (advisor) ; Erkomaishvili, David (referee)
1 Abstract Doxing is a relatively new practice and phenomenon that emerged within the cyberspace, and there have been limited studies providing insights into this practice, especially concerning the legal measures available to address this practice. Hong Kong has recently experienced a widespread doxing phenomenon in light of social unrests stemming from the 2019 protest movement, and as a response, has introduced a legislative amendment to address this issue. This research paper aims to investigate and examine doxing and its effects in Hong Kong, as well as to investigate and understand how doxing is legally addressed in Hong Kong. It specifically examines the legislative text of the 2021 Amendment as well as other governmental publications in order to answer to three research questions: 1) What are the challenges that doxing posed to law enforcement?; 2) How has doxing in Hong Kong been addressed by the 2021 Amendment?; and 3) What are law enforcement's response to doxing after legal measures were introduced to address doxing? This research study observed the challenges that law enforcement faced before the 2021 Amendment, legal measures that were introduced, and how law enforcement responded to doxing after the 2021 Amendment. These points serve as a basis for discussion on the literature on doxing and...
Comparison of different approaches of selected Czech media to online formats depending on corporate convergence
Řepková, Andrea ; Jirků, Jan (advisor) ; Trunečka, Ondřej (referee)
The diploma thesis Comparison of Approaches to Online Formats in Selected Czech Media Depending on Corporate Convergence deals with the question of how the approach of selected Czech daily newspapers Mladá fronta Dnes, Deník Právo and Hospodářské noviny to their associated online news servers differs. Since the chosen media share a common characteristic, which is their originally purely print format, the author first describes the concept of media convergence, the process of media internetisation, explains the concept of digitalisation and the economic principles of media. As part of the research, the author first conducts a content analysis of texts published in the print versions of the media, which she then searches for on a news server and compars. The author also conducts three semi-structured interviews with representatives of the selected media. From the data obtained, it can be concluded that the situation is different in each of the media, both in most of the categories of content analysis examined and in the functioning of the newsrooms themselves. The editorial office of Hospodářské noviny is identical in terms of personnel to the editorial office of HN.cz, while the editorial offices of Mladá fronta Dnes and iDnes.cz are two different editorial offices, which, however, cooperate...
Patients' rights from the perspective of patients
ZRNOVÁ, Ivana
The bachelor thesis is dedicated to patients' rights including nursing. Patients have several rights that relate to their health care and privacy. These rights include the right to information about their health and treatment and freedom to choose their doctor and health care facility, the right to privacy and protection of personal data, the right to respect one's religious and cultural practices, the right to basic hygiene and privacy during hospitalisation, the right to fair and equal treatment without discrimination, and many others. These rights are protected by health care laws and regulations, and patients can request to have them respected if they are violated. It is important that patients are informed about their rights and that they are allowed to actively use them so that they can receive quality health care and respect for their rights. The aim of this thesis is to find out the awareness of patients about their rights and to find out the compliance of selected rights from the patient's perspective. The aim has been achieved through quantitative research which includes a questionnaire of my own design. The research was conducted in regional hospitals among patients who were fully oriented. The results of the research will be used by the management of health service delivery for optimization of health care and for health professionals and for the students of nursing.

Švabová, Aneta ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Součková, Barbora (referee)
This theoretical based bachelors theses is focused on phenomenon of sharing pictures of children online by their parents, so called sharenting (especially on Facebook or Instagram). There are risks connected to this kind of sharing, such as formation of a digital footprint, which could include sensitive information, details from personal life or other problematic information, which would never be shared by children it concerns. This work attempts to capture the consequences this sharing could have for a life of a child outside of online world as well as for their online presence. All these phenomena will be described in theory but also by a legal perspective. Considering the terms and conditions of use published by META or other legal documents, this work attempts to answer following questions: To what extend is sharing this information unsafe? Can the child seek legal defence? And what legal boundaries are there for this kind of sharing? By analysing and interpreting academic and other relevant texts, together with legislation and jurisdiction, this work presents a conclusion, that such sharing could be a violation of privacy of a child, which would go hand in hand with violation of obligatory care for the child deriving from parental responsibility. Furthermore, this work detects a space for...
History and present of the legislative process in the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany
ŠTIKOVÁ, Linda
This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of the legislature as an integral part of any rule of law. Specifically, the thesis focuses on the creation of primary (statutory) regulations and secondary (sub-statutory) regulations in a comparative perspective of the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany. The historical context of lawmaking during the existence of a pluralistic political system, which to some extent inspired the current legislation, is also briefly outlined. The question of the effectiveness of the lawmaking procedure in terms of public knowledge is also key, since it is the transparency of legislation that plays a significant role in the everyday life of citizens.
Ideology and Law
Kerndl, Robert ; Žák Krzyžanková, Katarzyna (referee)
Ideology and Law Abstract In the presented work, I examine in depth the concept of ideology in its historical changes. Afterward, I relate these various forms to law. My work aims to analyze how law and ideology interact and whether there is an inherent relationship between them. I am therefore concerned with answering the question whether law is ideological, or under what conditions law and the application of law are influenced by ideology. The work is divided into three parts. In the first part, I address the notion of ideology. Here I examine how Karl Marx and his followers grasped and elaborated on this notion. I show the transformation of the Marxist conception of ideology in the works of Lenin, Gramsci and Althusser. In the second chapter of the first part, I present a different, historically relevant tradition of understanding ideology that I call, for the purposes of this work, conservative-democratic. In the second discussed tradition, I describe the ideas of Arendt, Popper, Scruton, and Pithart. Subsequently, I compare the two negative concepts of ideology to each other. The second part is devoted to how these negative concepts of ideology can be applied in legal theory. In the first chapter, I focus on the Critical Legal Studies movement, whose proponents were inspired by the previously mentioned...
