Options environmental funding from the European Structural Funds

In my bachelor thesis I try to describe and evaluate the possibilities of financing the environmental from European funds - the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund, as well as comparison of financing in the selected regions of the Czech Republic. First, I describe some projects in the selected regions (South Bohemia, South Moravia and Central Bohemia), which related with the area of environment and are financed by support from the European Union. I focused on the specific allocation of financial funds to these three regions and compared changes in the allocation of these funds in a period of approximately eight months. The conclusion follows an overview of projects financing in all regions the Czech Republic in this period.

Prospects of the cultivation and the use of sorghum and millet in the Czech Republic

The aim of this work was a summary of the cultivation knowledge and the use of the possibilities of sorghum and millet in the Czech Republic. Botanical characteristics, requirements for enviroment, plant care during the vegetation millet and sorghum. Harvest and post-harvest treatment of plants and their use for food, industrial and fodder purposes. Millet is a modest yielding crop bringing a good viable, expanding food crop and variety for processing industry. Sorghum enriches crop rotation to maintain soil fertility and is an interesting alternative to corn silage on the arable land in the Czech Republic.

The use of recycled waste in activities at kindergardens

This bachelor thesis deals with information on integration of the issue of waste sorting and recycling to environmental education system in nursery schools and the possibilities of using various sorts of waste for creative and handcraft activities in nursery schools (inspired by both Czech and foreign sources). The thesis consists of three parts: theory, practice and enclosures. In the theoretical part I will try to explain several terms concerning litter and ecology by means of specialized literature and online texts. The practical part and enclosures cover the usage of recyclable sorted waste in some activities of nursery schools I had the opportunity to visit during my continuous pedagogical practice in the second and third year of studying Teaching for nursery schools. I will analyze those activities I personally put into action using recyclable waste material. I carried out preparation of said activities, their realization and evaluation of feedback in Kapříků class, MŠ Větrná České Budějovice, in Žluťásků class, MŠ U čtyř barviček separate site of MŠ Mozaika Jihlava, in Ptáčků class, MŠ Zeyerova České Budějovice and at out-of-school activities {--} free-time activities for children at some weekend trips of PS T.O. Mešnice.

Congenital disorders in horse

The task of this thesis is to elaborate literary study of congenital disorders incidence by horses. At the beginning, there are summarized problems of congenital disorders in general, such as origin of the disorders and the forming factors. Further, the most common or the most severe equine congenital disorders, considering specific prevalence depending on the breed, are specified. The thesis also contents the incidence of congenital disoders by other kinds of domestic animals. At the end the practical breeder´s advices are summarized.

Use of agri-environmental programs in the agricultural economy in southern Bohemia

The aim of this paper is to provide an overview for orientation in how to obtain subsidies for agriculture in the Czech Republic to 2013 to find peace and the use of these opportunities in companies in South Bohemia, namely: usable and used types of grant programs, share the use of agri-environment schemes, influence the use of subsidy programs for system management, influence the use of grant titles to the type of agricultural production, altitude effect on the proportion of firms grassing, possible reserves in the amount of use of these measures.

Environmental tracers (18O, 3H, CFCs, SF6) exploitation for study of mean residence time and flow pattern of dripping water and karst springs (Moravian Karst)

Mean residence time and flow pattern was studied in unsaturated zone of Ochoz Cave in southern part of Moravian Karst by means of 18O in the years 2001 to 2003. The results of study showed relatively long residence time in the unsaturated zone (about 50% komponent with residence time exceeding one year). The proportion components coming from different reservoirs were computed from two components (soil/epikarst; meltwater). The results clearly indicate, that more than 50% of water (nearly 100% in 2003) in dripping waters was derived from soil/epikarst water, which originate from (late) summer precipitations (heavy 18O content)! It means that infiltrating snowmelt water was expelling (by piston flow effect) the summer water from soil and/or epikarst. Water from snowmelt was then lost by evapotranspiration in summer time. If this effect is common in Langer period, it can change composition of d18O in dripping waters and hence also in dripstones precipitating from these waters.

In the theoretical part, you can find important information regarding the environmental audit and also audit in elementary schools. The practical part obtained on the basis of information by questionnaire method.This method compares schools that use or do not use environmental audit.

The importance of the system of EIA for the needs of spatial planning.

The diploma thesis consists of three parts. In the first part the problematics of the EIA process is explained and basic data and statitistics for the years 2003 to 2007 is mentioned with respect to the legislative changes in 2006 and 2007. The statistics include i.e. the total number of the projects assessed in individual years, number of the projects assessed by The Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic and regional authorities. Furthermore there are quantified individual projects coming under individual regions, respecting the division into individual industrial branches. Part two deals with the problematics of landscape planning --definiton, tools, targets, legislation and authorities in charge with landscape planning. The last part of the thesis is devoted to the importance of the system of EIA for the needs of spatial planning. There are shown the benefits of EIA for landscape development. Moreover there is distinguishing of EIA for individual projects and for spatial conceptions.
