Lunar Exploration and Rovers on the Moon in the 21st century
Čuhel, Radek ; Rujbrová, Šárka (oponent) ; Froehling, Kenneth (vedoucí práce)
This thesis focuses on the past and present missions to the Moon. The historical part focuses particularly on the programs of the Soviet Union and the United States involving impactor probes, landers, and the Apollo program. The present section deals with the Chinese Chang’e program, and the Indian Chandrayaan-3 mission. The chapters in this paper provide a comprehensive description of the design of spacecraft, science experiments on board, and the execution of missions.
On-orbit docking simulator
Červenka, Rostislav ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (oponent) ; Chudý, Peter (vedoucí práce)
This thesis delves into the multifaceted domain of on-orbit docking. The goal is to design and implement an on-orbit docking simulator for Android devices. The simulator will be based on the Clohessy-Wiltshire equations, which are used to model the relative motion of two spacecraft in orbit. The user will be in control of one of them and his goal is to utilize the available touch and motion inputs, to dock into the other. The simulator encapsulates the complexities of multiple on-orbit docking scenarios, providing an immersive and educational experience for users interested in space technology.
Space Missions to Mercury
Novák, Jakub ; Šťastná, Dagmar (oponent) ; Froehling, Kenneth (vedoucí práce)
The aim of this thesis is to get acquainted with the past and present space missions to planet Mercury, in particular, former NASA´s Messenger mission and a present joint mission of ESA and JAXA, BepiColombo. The thesis outlines their objectives and science results; moreover, it focuses on scientific technology of the missions, including comprehensive instrumental payload description and a survey of the construction design of each spacecraft.
An overview of the spacecraft re-entry on Earth
Macejko, Jakub ; Zikmund, Pavel (oponent) ; Daněk, Vladimír (vedoucí práce)
This bachelor’s thesis is a research thesis describing the issue of the spacecraft, space probes, and other space bodies' re-entry on Earth. This thesis is divided into five chapters. In the first four chapters, the reader will learn about the distribution of re-entry methods, types of re-entry trajectories, and thermal issues. In the last and most comprehensive chapter, the reader will learn about the methods of kinetic energy reduction used in the final stages of re-entry
The Juno Mission to Jupiter
Gall, Jiří ; Sedláček, Pavel (oponent) ; Froehling, Kenneth (vedoucí práce)
The semestral thesis focuses on the exploration of the planet Jupiter by the Juno spacecraft. In this paper are outlined missions to Jupiter prior the Juno with the goals they achieved. Then the work focuses solely on the Juno mission, whose goal is to understand the origin and formation of Jupiter. Furthermore, is described mission timeline since launch to the mission deorbit. Following with the description of the spacecraft construction design and the various subsystem, along with the nine instruments implemented for the planet’s investigation. are described and comment preliminary results of the Juno mission.
Influence of space debris on satellites design
Hláčik, Adam ; Lazar, Václav (oponent) ; Bartoněk, Jaroslav (vedoucí práce)
The bachelor thesis summarizes the space debris problem and its impacts on the uncrewed spacecraft design. The primary goal is to combine theoretical understandings of the space debris topic with the practical implementation of these findings in the "design for debris" strategy. The first chapter of the thesis examines the properties of space. debris. Findings from this chapter must be considered during the mission and spacecraft design phase, alongside other design driving attributes. The practical part demonstrates the "design for debris" approach in a model case study. The design approach is based on the Micro Meteriod and Orbital Debris analysis findings, which characterize the interaction of debris particles with spacecraft during the course of a mission. Alongside characterization of debris population on mission orbit, analysis can detect weak spots of spacecraft design that are vulnerable to debris impact. Risk-reducing modifications based on analysis data and problem understanding can be applied to reduce the possibility of a spacecraft failure. Another analysis iteration can verify the effectiveness of proposed modifications.
