Teaching "Art and Culture" and "Health Education" at Primary School

The thesis represents a brief outline of the educational system in the Czech Republic and a view into the Framework Educational Programme for Elementary Education (RVP). The main subject of the work is the content and the characteristics of two educational areas called "Arts and Culture" and "Health Education" at the first grade of an elementary school regarding specifics and needs of the pupils of younger school age. Individual categories of subjects correspond with the created methodical material aimed at the third class of elementary schools. Moreover, the thesis deals with the situation at schools and the attitude of the first grade teachers to individual educational subject such as Arts, Music, Physical Education, etc. The work focuses on what influences the teachers´ perception of the subjects, how they are taught and how they are evaluated in the framework of other subjects.
Leisure education of pre-school children

This thesis deals with the character of leisure activities offered by kindergartens in České Budějovice. The theoretical part characterizes interest and leisure activities in the general meaning and in a child at preschool age. Next, it describes the relationship of the areas of leisure activities and the areas of preschool education. The practical part - research - presents the characteristics of leisure activities offered in kindergartens in České Budějovice, the extra activities offered, the reasons for their use, and their specific form. The data collected is interpreted in the context of leisure pedagogy and preschool pedagogy.
High School Students' Attitude Towards Biology

Understanding of students' attitudes is important in supporting their interest toward a particular subject. Students' attitudes toward science have been extensively studied and it has been showed that their interest decrease with age. In the Czech Republic, there are studies concerning pupils' attitudes towards biology at primary school, but high school students' attitudes towards biology are less known. Thus, the aim of this study focuses on high school students' attitudes toward biology and variables (such as gender, age, the most favourite subject and out-of-school activities) which affect them. In addition, the thesis focuses on the students' view of the particular biology fields taught at high schools, from the point of view of usefulness for life, difficulty and the level of attention given to them by teacher during the biology classes. The research was done using a questionnaire survey at high schools in the Czech Republic and the total number of 192 students took part in the survey. The results of the diploma thesis show that the attitudes of students towards biology are neutral. A more positive attitude towards biology was found in girls and younger students. Attitude of population of region Vysočina on issues of provision of voluntary services in case of emergency.

This bachelor thesis is focused on issues of volunteering in emergencies. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out the attitude of the population of region Vysočina in the matter of the providing help to volunteers in emergencies, first of all to find out the interest of the population of region Vysočina about involving to volunteer activities during emergencies. Quantitative research was used to obtain the data through a questionnaire survey, which took place in region Vysočina in March 2018. Respondents from the general public were approached and were selected by random selection. Questionnaires were distributed in two ways, in printed form (Annex 1) and in electronic form. In this questionnaire survey were participated 242 respondents The first objective of the thesis was: "Find out the attitude of the population of Vysočina region in issues of the providing help to volunteers in emergencies". For this aim was established hypothesis 1: " The positive attitude of the population of Vysočina region, in issues of the providing help to volunteers in emergencies, does not reach 80 %". From the questionnaire results arise that the positive attitude is 87 % (Table 18). Due to this finding the zero hypothesis was rejected, in view of the fact that positive attitude reachs 80 %. In this case we accept the alternative hypothesis. The second aim of the thesis was: "Find out the interest of the population of Vysočina region about involving to volunteer activities during emergencies." For this aim was established hypothesis 2: Interest of the population of Vysočina region about involving to volunteer activities during emergencies does not reach 80 %". From the questionnaire results arise that the interest is 64 % (Table 19). Due to this finding the zero hypothesis was accepted, in view of the fact that interest does not reach 80 %. It is important to note that the awareness of respondents about the issue of volunteering is not good. It arises from a questionnaire survey. It is necessary to promote this issues especially among the general public. The results show that the convenient solution is promote volunteering using educational programs in media or to organize lectures and discussions at schools and workplaes. The result from this bachelor thesis can be use as information source for authority and institutions, which are dealing with emergency response and volunteering. Especially in the framework of fullfilling the tasks of the Concept of population protection from 2020 with a view to 2030, with aim to improve the involvement of volunters in dealing with emergencies and crisis situations.
Reading portfolio as a means of development and monitoring of primary school children interest in reading

This thesis deals with a reading portfolio as one of the means, by which children's reading can be developed and monitored at elementary schools. It focuses on strategies and methods of children's reading skills' development. It researches other options to support their development and evaluation, too. The main emphasis is placed on the portfolio and its elements, which means children's work selection and classification, type of portfolios, working with portfolio and its evaluation. In a small way thesis deals with the reading books and their characteristics. The practical part of the thesis is focused on options how reading portfolio in education at elementary school could be used. The thesis is concluded by the main findings arising from the focus group method application and observation, including in particular the definition of the reading portfolio's purpose, its content, its use and evaluation. Role of Self-help Organizations in Health and Social Care Services for People with Disabilities

This thesis is discussing about function and issues of self-help organizations which are helping people with disabilities from different points of view. The number of disabled people living at home care is rapidly increasing in recent years. A disabled member in the household brings many difficulties. In order to overcome them many of these families associate together and establish self-help organizations. The author of this thesis legislatively and institutionally anchored this issue, inform about its development and its current functioning. The current system is not without problems and causes significant barriers in running of the organizations and everyday life of its members. By using semi-structured interviews with the stakeholders (founder, contact person, advisor, disabled member and coordinator of the self-help organization) the author is identifying problem areas which are subsequently interpreted individually for each person involved as well as for the whole group and describes the main problems mentioned by more than one party. The author is resolving problems with establishment of the self-help organization, financing, attitude of the interested institutions and health care.
