Primal sources of inspiration in czech art 1980-2015

Main focus of this work is to compare and map the evolution of primal sources of inspiration in Czech art in the years 1980-2015. It brings the overview of the authors, who adopted the elements of visual reality, and describes the ways how they used it in their works. Highlighted are the authors whose works are influenced by some of the following topics: commerce and kitch, pornography, comic books, graffiti and street art, folklore, culture of natural nation and childs drawings. Reasons and motivation of the authors for using these extraordinary ways of expression are also clarified. The main part of the work is completed by a context of the exhibitions which took place in the defined time period and follow the topic. It is possible to imagine the evolution and the meaning of primal sources of inspiration in the context of post modern art, according to the basis of the discovered findings.

Factors influencing interest in folklore among members of a folk group in Prague

The aim of this dissertation is to answer this question: what is the reason of folklore groups in Prague to reproduce and engage in the Moravian folklore. Apart from Moravians, Prague's native-born inhabitants also participate in these ensembles; which is possible to be considered as a specific phenomenon. This occurrence demands clarification. The main question is what the factors which influence the individual's interest in folklore are. Specifically what are the mechanisms of transmission of interest in this activity and what are the reasons why individuals are constantly devoted to folklore for a long period of time. The empirical part is devoted to these research questions. It tries to address these issues by the means of interviews with 13 respondents from a Prague's folklore ensemble. The theoretical part of the dissertation presents the base for the research questions. For example, it pursues the concept of socialization, identity or the contexts and functions of folklore in the contemporary society.

Folklore ensembles in Znojemsko

This bachelor work threat about introduction folklore and another few ensembles operating in the past and in the present in Znojemsko. Whereas Znojmo isn't folklore region, there are people and traditionals who are holding this in Znojmo. In particular I am concetrating on ensemble Dyjavánek, which is operating more than 25 years. Then I describe another few ensembles, folk costumes, songs and dances. Purpose of this work is introduction of music live in Znojemsko, which is very multefarious and try to draw near the people, so administrators begin with distribution various music festivals.

Village Hradčany in Podještědí at Contemporaly History 1914 - 1948

This work focuses on exploring the village Hradčany in Podještědí in historical period 1914-1957. The main theme of the work is the specific situation of Hradčany, the village on the ethnic, and later also state border of Sudeten and Protectorate during the Second World War, as well as the building of socialism and the ending of the traditional rural economy in the fifties. The whole work is based primarily on oral-history research, interviews with the oldest settlers, collection of photographic sources and written documents as memories and administrative documents.

Wild hunt phenomenon and its alteration in time

(in English) This bachelor thesis is focusing on issues of Wild Hunt phenomenon and its alteration in time. Main focus of this thesis is to create coherent view on basis of phenomenon with first explaining the basic idea of mythological phenomenon Wild Hunt, its history from mythological sources through medieval to present popular culture. Next it is trying to outline range of it and following the alteration of phenomenon in time. For this purpose it is using the folklorist's collections, which include our studied phenomenon, but also popular literature and another reference in popular culture which it is comparing in conclusion. "Pukl, hyjta ha muzika" or else personal memories of Chod Folklor group members not only on ethnographic festival Chod Celebrations

The objective of this Master's thesis is to reflect personal memories of the folklore group members on ethnographic Chod festivals, which circle around the period from the fifties till the present day. As well as putting the emphasis on comparison between the memories made before and after 1989, I also focus on the component spheres of interpretation, such as topics about traveling of the Chod folklore groups before the year of 1989 or about music careers of each of the narrators. Furthermore, I observe the changes in political situations and its potential influence on Chod Festivals and its organization and the relationship of local folk groups. The primary sources of this thesis consist of interviews conducted by oral history method with former and current members of local folk groups. The text also derives from archived materials, period press and memoir literature. During the reflection on ethnographic festival the text observes not only historical and political aspect, but the musical and social aspect as well. The biggest contribution of the thesis is therefore the presentation of the topic from different points of view. Care of the Intangible Cultural Heritage: Case of the Ride of Kings

Care of the intangible cultural heritage is nowadays dependent on several elements. The main element is people and community in the places where the habit or tradition is still kept. But their effort must be supported by national and international authorities who invest considerable resources into their preservation. Except this also the general awareness of public that is a guarantee of passing the tradition to the next generations is very important. On the example of the Ride of Kings there is captured historical evolution of the tradition, which during the previous century undergo the change in the people's celebrations. By their formation was conditioned preservation of tradition, which began to vanish in the second half of the 20th century.
