The Activity of Caritas in Archdiocese of Prague between 1989 - 2009

Submitted thesis describes charitable activity in Christianity and its history as well as charitable activity in other religions. Thesis focuses mainly on research and the analysis of Prague archdiocese charitable activity within years 1989 - 2002 of available information. Paper presents findings that result from the analysis of charitable activity within areas of social work, humanitarian aid and above all development co-operation. In diploma thesis, we described various fulfilments of supportive development projects, especially the most conspicuous and the most significant participation in development activity -on project Remote adoption. The significance of this activity between years 1993 - 2009 reflects its results. Submitted paper qualifies results of analysis and determinates further possibilities of given problem`s examination. The basic purpose of thesis is on the basis of gained results, pointed on significant contribution of Prague archdiocese charitable activity not only within Czech Republic, but also in foreign countries. Moreover, the practical importance of thesis is seen as a feedback on complexity, range and variability of Prague archdiocese charitable activity for reader, other institutions as well as for Prague archdiocese itself. Social analysis of debtors in Prague 3 - Žižkov

The bachelor paper "Social analysis of the indebted citizens in Prague 3" focuses on the issues of indebtedness, respectively overindebtedness, it's causes and consequences for single person, or the whole population. The essay tries to answer the question about the origin of overindebtedness, options of it's solution and prevention. The theoretical part deals with the issues by historical aspect and the law aspect too, mainly is focused to the execution of the decision carried out by sale of movable things, and advise for individuals. The research part works with the question, which segments of population the indebtedness concerns at most, by the aspect of gender, age, employment, nationality and education, focused for Prague 3.
Role of social worker in hospitals. Support and help provided to families with disabled child of pre-school age

The thesis deals with social work at hospital, exactly with job descripton of social worker at hospital, with support which he receives during performance of work and conditions under which he performs the work. In the theoretical part there are defined terms social work and social worker, his competence and approach to clients, hospital, patient and client. It also deals with ethical codex. Then it deals with disability and its types. It deals with family and educational styles, situation of families with child with disability, different social benefit from social welfare scheme which they can be entitled to and social services which they can use. It discusses also attitude of parents to children with disability and process of coping with this reality. Next part deals with social work at hospital, defining social work at the hospital, his education and job description requirements. There is also mentioned the term quality of life, which should social worker bear in mind during work with clients. In practial part there is analysed work of social workers at the hospital with the aim to describe their amount and activities. Annotation: This thesis deal with aggresion and aggressiveness in humans lifetime, its sorts, starters.In more detail it is focusing for some forms of aggressive behavior as are chicane, ill-usage, racism, anti- semitism. It determinatives them as notions, describe thein after- effects and thein resolutions. At the conclusion this thesis offers set of games, methods and lessons for aggressiveness absorbing of pupils in the school. Some of them are equiping with photos, and the educt of simple questionnaire on the theme aggressive behavior at primary school in region Mladá Boleslav.
Social-psychological help in bereavement

This work is dealing with the topic of helping with bereavement. The first chapter is covering the topic of death and dying in general. I'm evaluating changes in the concept of death in the past and present, which affected the extinction of important rituals and caused the tabooing of death. The work is supposed to motivate the reader to include the topic of death in casual conversations like in the past that is the first step of coping with bereavement. The next chapter is focusing on work with grief and the reactions of bereaved people to the loss of a close person. The chapter is describing available support measures for bereavement counsellors, psychologists, psychiatrists, self-help groups and crisis centres. This work is also focusing on the importance of interpersonal relations, need for solidarity and empathy in the time of grief.
Effectiveness of cooperation of family and home care agency in nurse care of senior citizens during the period immediately after discharge from hospital

I wanted to support and make visible the importance of providing the Czech Red Cross home care service in Strakonice concerning senior care in their own houses. The theoretical part deals with senior person, family, and home care characteristic. The survey part is processed by means of qualitative research methodology, where inquirers were nurses of the home care and clients with families, who used their service. Objective of this thesis was to find out, if the family members use the home care service in the process of senior care and which area their cooperation consists in. The outcomes are processed using interviews with the nurses of the home care and with the family members and seniors. Main research questions were: What is the way the patient and his/her family are informed about opportunities of using home care service when discharging from hospital? To what extent do family members use the service of home care? Do family members miss some particular activity beyond contemporary provided services? How does the family cooperate with the home care nurses in care of the senior after his/her discharge from hospital treatment? What activity do the family members need to be done by the home care nurses in senior care after patient's discharge from hospital treatment? On the basis of these questions we were creating sub-questions to the interviews with home care nurses and families with clients. Nurses were answering 16 questions and the family with seniors 13 questions. This thesis is written for conclusiveness of the importance and the irreplaceable of the home care in the process of treatment of the senior in his/her natural environment. The result of the thesis points to contentment and indispensability of provided service by the client.
The issue of inclusion of hearing-disabled people

This bachelor thesis called "The issue of inclusion of people with hearing disabilities" speaks about people with hearing difficulties, more specifically their integration into mainstream society. The dissertation is divided into theoretical part which acquaints us with hearing impairment as such. The bachelor thesis is addressing the classification of hearing impairment, dealing with assistive technology for hearing impaired persons, communication systems of hearing impaired persons, and finally mentions the issue of inclusion and integration of hearing impaired persons. The practical part describes the research methodology, the research objectives and goals, it includes a (public) survey and its processing and includes the interview with Michal Brhel who is also deaf. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out how the ongoing integration of handicapped people into mainstream society is being done and point out its main issues and difficulties. Especially the difficulty in employment area.
