Rozuzlení vztahu korupce a šedé ekonomiky
Rais, Jonáš ; Rod, Aleš (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
This paper analyses the relationship between corruption and shadow economy. Synthesis of existing theoretical models and the empirical findings in this paper show that different types of corrupt behavior interact with shadow economy differently. Therefore, the relationship between contexts differs. Overall, it seems that the mechanisms leading to the complementary relationship are more prevalent. The results also imply that the quality of public goods available in the official economy influences where the different types of corrupt behavior manifest. When the quality of the public goods is high, corruption and shadow economy appear to be substitutes and when the quality is low, they are complements. However, the relationship is not robust and depends upon the measures used to assess the public goods quality. Furthermore, corruption and shadow economy seem to be complements in decentralized countries and countries with high taxes.

The synthesis of poly(butadiene)diol-based polyurethanes with LC properties
Poláková, Lenka ; Sedláková, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Šňupárek, Jaromír (referee) ; Hamplová, Věra (referee)
8 Summary The PhD thesis is focused on the synthesis and characterization of low-molecular mesogenic thiols and poly(butadiene)diols and polyurethanes with LC side chains. Within the frame of this work, following tasks have been solved: Two groups of low-molecular compounds containing a biphenyl or an azobenzene as a rigid mesogenic part have been synthesized: N YNOSHXO SH Y = -H -OCH3 -O(CH2)3CH3 -O(CH2)7CH3 X = -H -CN Composition and structure of the prepared units were confirmed by elemental analysis and 1 H NMR spectroscopy. Thermal behavior, with the respect to the temperature-dependent mesophase formation, was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarizing optical microscopy (POM) and X-ray scattering techniques (SAXS, WAXS). It was found that the presence and the type of the substituent on the mesogenic core play a crucial role in the ordering of the thiol molecules into a LC phase. The thiols synthesized were grafted onto double bonds of the commercially available telechelic poly(butadiene)diol Krasol LBH 3 000 (declared Mn ~ 2 600 Da, Mw/Mn = 1.10). The addition reactions proceeded in the presence of radical initiator (AIBN). Molar ratio of thiol/double bonds varied within the range of 0.15 (resp. 0.2) to 1.0 for each type of the thiol. The structure of the resulted comb-like...

Preparation of recombinant human cytochrome b5
Hálková, Tereza ; Martínek, Václav (advisor) ; Hudeček, Jiří (referee)
Cytochrome b5 is a small heme protein. There are three isoforms present in human organism, one is located in the membrane of endoplasmic reticulum (microsomal cyt b5), second in the outer mitochondrial membrane and the third (soluble form) was found in cytoplasm of matured erythrocytes. The main role of cytochrome b5 is to transport single electron in various reactions including cytochrome P450-dependent reactions. First aim of the thesis was to prepare and to isolate the soluble form of rabbit microsomal cytochrome b5, using heterologous expression in Escherichia coli strain BL-21 Gold. The plasmid pET22b containing synthetic gene for rabbit microsomal cytochrome b5, lacking the sequence encoding the membrane associated C-terminal domain, was used as an expression vector. The second aim was to synthesize the expression vectors carrying genes for human microsomal and erythrocytic cytochromes b5. These genes were prepared by gene synthesis, ligated to cloning vector pUC19, amplified in E. coli DH5α competent cells and their sequences were verified by DNA sequencing. Consequently the pET22b expression vectors containing genes for human microsomal and erythrocytic cytochrome b5 were constructed and finally their suitability for heterologous expression was evaluated. Keywords: Heterologous expression,...

Bioresorbable polyurethanes with controlled mechanical properties
Letavaj, Emil ; Žídek, Jan (referee) ; Kupka, Vojtěch (advisor)
Presented diploma thesis deals with preparation of bioresorbable polyurethanes (PUR) and their characterization. The theoretical part describes the feedstocks used for the PUR preparation and summarizes the knowledge about PUR used in medical applications. Experimental part presents characterization of bioresorbable PUR films prepared by reactive casting in one step without the use of organic solvents. The absence of solvents represents a great advantage due to their toxicity and subsequent removal from the resulting product. The synthesis of PUR was conducted under an inert atmosphere by polyaddition reaction of hydrophobic poly(e-caprolactone) (PCL) and hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI). Synthesis under an inert atmosphere was necessary due to a side reaction of isocyanate with atmospheric humidity, which causes the formation of porous films instead of continuous ones. Prepared PUR films were characterized for different PCL/PEG ratios and different isocyanate index (ratio of NCO/OH reacted groups). PUR (isocyanate index 1.05) with PCL content 90 wt. % and higher demonstrated tought behavior in mechanical tests. Increase of isocyanate index and decrease of PCL content under 90 wt. % caused fragile sample behavior. The reason of such behavior was the different ability of PCL to crystallize in the structure of the polyurethane network. Increasing the PEG content has improved the ability of PUR films to absorb water and enhanced the rate of hydrolytic degradation. By adjusting the PCL/PEG ratio and the amount of isocyanate, solvent free bioresorbable PUR with suitable mechanical (flexibility, toughness) and physical properties (swelling, degradation) can be obtained. Prepared PUR films could be used in biomedicine e.g. as vascular grafts.

Taxonomy and variability of selected Sorbus taxa
LEPŠÍ, Martin
This thesis is a biosystematic study focusing on the taxonomy and variability of selected taxa of the genus Sorbus, one of the most diverse and taxonomically complicated plant groups in Europe. Classical and modern biosystematic methods - comparative study, chromosome counting, analysis of nuclear microsatellite markers, flow cytometry, and traditional multivariate and outline morphometric analyses were used to assess the morphological, karyological and genetic variability of the genus. The final synthesis of these approaches led to the description of several new taxa (species, hybrids and a subgenus) and the correction of several taxonomic misinterpretations. To reveal ongoing evolutionary processes responsible for the generation of the observed variability, the reproductive modes of 42 Sorbus taxa were examined using flow-cytometric seed and pollen screens. Apart from revealing major trends, the study estimates the frequency of rare events and provides several novel conclusions that are relevant both specifically to Sorbus/Rosaceae and to apomixis in general.

Syntéza nanotrubiček Ti-NT: vliv modifikace výchozího TiO2 na krystalickou strukturu a morfologii
Králová, Daniela ; Šlouf, Miroslav ; Kužel, R.
This work is focused on preparation of titanate nanotubes (Ti-NT) from various crystalline modifications of TiO2. Different source micro/nanopowders of TiO2 yielded Ti-NT with similar sizes, shapes and structures. Residual TiO2 particles in final Ti-NT suspensions were eliminated by modification of preparation procedure. Morphology and crystalline structure of both source TiO2 and final Ti-NT were investigated by means of electron microscopy, electron diffraction and X-ray diffraction.

Synthesis of pyrazino[2,3-b]pyrazines - azaphthalocyanine precursors
Šebl, René ; Zimčík, Petr (advisor) ; Holas, Ondřej (referee)
CHARLES UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE FACULTY OF PHARMACY IN HRADEC KRÁLOVÉ DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY AND DRUG CONTROL Name: René Šebl Supervisor: Doc. PharmDr. Petr Zimčík,Ph.D Title of the thesis: Synthesis of pyrazino[2,3-b]pyrazines - azaphthalocyanine precursors The topic of my thesis was synthesis of azaphtalocyanines containing pyrazinopyrazine units. These molecules have been published only in few publication till now. Since these molecules are extended by one pyrazine nucleuson each unit, their extended conjugation leads to an increased absorption in the higher regions of the absorption spectrum. In the first step, I focused on the synthesis of precursors for subsequent cyclotetramerization. Starting compound for the preparation of various precursors was 6,7- dichloropyrazino [2,3-b] pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile. It underwent nucleophilic substitution leading to products substituted with various substiuents attached via heteroatoms such as oxygen or nitrogen. Another option is the condensation of 5,6-diaminopyrazine-2,3- dicarbonitrile with appropriate diketon. This attempt did not lead to the successful preparation of the precursor. The precursors were subsequently cyclotetramerized to corresponding macrocycles. We succeeded only with one precursor...
