Design of electric scooter
Oujezdský, Lukáš ; Chorý, Tomáš (referee) ; Haltof, Vladimír (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is to design an electric scooter targeted at innovative approach to the design of the technical, aesthetic , ergonomic and ecological requirements . The main objective is to devise a practical design and shape characteristic of the machine , which in itself will reflect the selected drive type . The scooter should be the ideal solution for the movement in urban centers, which will be practical with an attractive appearance of ecological vehicles . Its unusual solution to the problem of storage space in this category of motorcycle , scooter would have become a good alternative to conventional means of transport with a combustion engine

How long would it have to an old Skoda car to drive, that produced as many emissions as produced the production of new environmental car
Jurečková, Šárka ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor)
This thesis covers primarily the detection of operating emission of an old Škoda Felicia car and the emission produced during the manufacturing of a new Toyota Prius, as the selected representative of an ecological car. The thesis also touches on hybrid technology in itself, the question of the greenness of hybrid cars, sphere of emission, but also related problems so called "scrapping" and its influence on environment and also current situation in automobile industry. The target of this study is calculation of operation time of an old Škoda Felicia during which the CO2 emission will reach the same amount of emission produced during manufacturing of a Toyota Prius. The objective is to point out incompetent and therefore not always serious comparison of cars greenness when only the operating CO2 is being compared. Other energy consumption and therefore also the greenhouse gases production is related with the car manufacturing, raw material extraction, petroleum processing and other economic sectors affected by production. Emission laboratory measurement executed by TÜV SÜD Czech discovered that the old Škoda produces 260m/km CO2 during its real running time. For the emission calculation was used an American model EIO-LCA created by Green Design Institute at Carnegie Mellon University that records ecological influence of car production, in stated amount, on all economy sectors. The outputs are quoted in CO2 equivalent. According to this model during manufacturing of 1 hybrid car 13.5 t of CO2e (equivalent CO2). is produced. Recalculation found out that the old Škoda Felicia could run for more than 5 years in order to produce as much emission as the manufacturing of new Toyota Prius third generation.

Marketing of Green Companies
Nováková, Pavla ; Štědroň, Bohumír (advisor) ; Králík, Tomáš (referee)
The goal of this Master's Thesis was to map and asses marketing of Green Companies in the Czech Republic and abroad and based on some basic characteristics to evaluate the economical profitability of this business and its future prospects. The Thesis is about ecological products and customer's possibilities to become informed enough about them and to choose the right one. The Thesis focuses on some companies operating on the energy market. These companies are very often placed on the top of green rankings. Based on my experience environmental activity is evaluated in the department of operating leasing in the ČSOB Leasing a.s. company.

Architecture in landscape - Environmental Education Center
Sáčková, Veronika ; Loutocká, Vlasta (referee) ; Urbášková, Hana (advisor)
The aim of the task was to design a building situated in South Moravia near the Nové Mlýny dam with a view of Pálava hills. The house is designed with respect to the environment as extremely efficient building. Part of the ecological concept is also water management and purification. The primary function of this object is an environmental education aimed at primary schools and its students. There are two classrooms available, both of them designed for 27 children, and a lecture hall for 66 students. There is an accommodation for 60 persons including dining room arranged in the object. Also there is room for cultural events in the area, a separate building that provides refreshment and bicycle or boat rental.

Mapping of the Litavka catchment using GPS
Hojcsková, Daniela ; Matějíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Brůna, Josef (referee)
This thesis is aimed on the study of Global Positioning System (GPS) and its utilization possibilities in nature sciences such as ecology, hydrology, botany and the others. The main contribution of this work is the investigation of current possibilities of the most accurate data collection by using GPS and their subsequent processing in GIS with focus on small catchment. Other methods of terrain data collection are described and compared with GPS in this work, as well. Practical part of the thesis focuses on characteristics of the locality, technical equipment and data editing gained in terrain. The study locality is the Litavka catchment, which is situated in Brdy. The geographical ground data, were gained from ZABAGED and were completed with results of own measuring in terrain. The output of the thesis is the digital terrain model of upper stream of the Litavka River modified by interpolation. Key words: GPS, DTM, GIS, mapping, catchment, Litavka, interpolation

Controversy about Šumava: Strengths and weaknesses of the ecological principle of consensus
Chomátová, Eliška ; Stöckelová, Tereza (advisor) ; Čermák, Daniel (referee)
The thesis is based on a qualitative research realized in summer 2008 in several municipalities in Šumava. Focus groups organized within this research aimed at the relationship of different stakeholders to the Šumava National Park and more generally to nature and environmentalist thoughts and actors. The research design and the data gathered are presented in the introduction. Then the theory of general principles of consensus is described, which serves as the main theoretical framework for the study of focus groups participants' arguments. Using particular arguments, I show that against the protection of nature as it is realized by Šumava National Park Authority, critical citizens build their arguments on values that are considered legitimate and important in Czech society. The next part of the thesis studies the ecological principle of consensus as a new general principle of consensus: I discuss the conditions for existence of such a principle, its form in the controversy about the management of Šumava and the implications its form can have, supporting broader acceptance of the principle or, on the contrary, its rejection. An important point there is the relationship between expertise and participation, which are, together with the concept of nature, main elements of the ecological principle of...

Application of LNG in Transport
Machalová, Markéta ; Sedláček, Jiří (advisor) ; Žákovec, Jan (referee)
This bachelor's thesis evaluates the various aspects of implementation of LNG (liquefied natural gas) as a fuel for a smaller transport company. Today, more and more alternative fueled vehicles are being used. One of the most common alternative fuels is natural gas in the form of either LNG or CNG (compressed natural gas). The objective of this thesis is to determine, whether the investment in LNG installation is convenient for the Děčín city transport company. By analysis and calculation I came to the conclusion, that gasification of buses is advantageous compared to diesel from the safety, ecological and economical point of view. Due to technical and legislative obstacles, LNG is currently less profitable for a smaller transport company than CNG. LNG implementation is now in Czech Republic convenient for transport companies in towns, where pipeline does not have enough capacity for CNG installation.

Proposal of ecological communication strategy for well known consulting company
Ondrušová, Martina ; Král, Petr (advisor) ; Bockstefel, Jan (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with the creation of environmental corporate image and with designing a communications strategy in order to address environmental program. In the world of globalization and increased competition, companies strive to differentiate their business in unconventional way. Differentiation is being done by open communication and also by socially responsible behavior. The goal of the thesis was to point out that each and every company can run its business ecologically, even the consulting company operating on B2B market. Building the environmental image, however, requests new values being integrated into common internal processes and creating new corporate identity visible to public. The content of the thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the corporate identity, corporate image and brand. Other chapters are devoted to the theory of communication, corporate social responsibility and environmental aspects of business. The practical part includes description of the company and proposal of comprehensive environmental program. The final chapter of practical part describes the plan of external and internal communication strategy which is inevitable for building environmental corporate image.
