Jan Antonín Reichenauer - Church music with Regards to Litanies
Semerád, Vojtěch ; Stříteská, Leona (referee) ; Hurníková, Kateřina (advisor)
8. Summary Jan Antonin Reichenauer was a prominent Prague composer in the first third of the eighteenth century. Although church music forms a fundamental part of his compositional output, he was also a renowned composer of instrumental works. Liturgical compositions, masses, motets, offertories, sacred arias, litanies and vespers, frequently inaccurately marked with the name of the composer (Reichenaur, Reichenau), were performed by church choirs both in Prague and beyond. In addition to Czech music collections and archives (the Prague Castle Archive, the Music Collection ofthe Knights of the Cross with the Red Star, compositions from monastery collections assembled in the Czech Museum of Music) many instrumental compositions have been preserved in Dresden, Wiesentheid, Darmstadt and Vratislav. Reichenauer's work was influenced by the Neopolitan School of the first half of the eighteenth century, particularly by the works ofF. Durant a D. Sarr. Very little is known about his life. I found a lot of information in the church records of christenings and deaths in Prague's Little Quarter. Evidence of his activities in Prague as a composer of instrumental and church music in the aristocratic ensemble of Count Vac1av Morzin dates from about the year 1723. Concurrently with his position as composer to the...

The Lifeof convent of Dominican Sisters of St. Ana and St. Lawrence in the Old Town of Prague from the 16th to the early 18th century
Walter, Pavel ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Zouhar, Jakub (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with various aspects of the life of convent of Dominican Sisters of Saint Ann and Saint Lawrence at the Old Town of Prague. It integrates this community in to the context of the development of the Order of Preachers. It summs up the history of the Order in the Lands of Bohemia from the arrival of Dominicans up to the present day and the development of the Old Town convent from its founding to the beginning of the 18th century. It is based above all on unpublished sources which are deposited in the National Archive in Prague (fonds Archives of monasteries abolished under Joseph II., Order of Dominicanes of Saint Ann). In contrast to previous research, which is dedicated mostly to the economical history or to architectural and artistic development of this convent, this work follows the external activities of nuns (administration of their properties, churches under their patronages). It attempts in particular to draw the interior life of this convent (elections of superiors, the recruitment of novices to the Order, acquisition of various donations and supports etc.).

Tree rings and peat bogs as archives of recent trends in Pb and Hg deposition in the Czech Republic
Zuna, Milan ; Mihaljevič, Martin (advisor) ; Komárek, Michal (referee) ; Soudek, Petr (referee)
1 Tree rings and peat bogs as archives of recent trends in Pb and Hg deposition in the Czech Republic Milan Zuna, 2012 Abstract The environment polluted by toxic metals is currently one of the most topical subjects studied in a great many countries. Toxic metals and their forms are studied primarily because of their negative impact on the environment and also on human health. In the territory of the Czech Republic, direct measurements of the concentrations of these substances are available only for a limited time period. Consequently, indirect methods, such as geochemical archives, are used to determine the historical environmental burdens from these metals. Historical lead concentrations (Pb) were studied on peat bog profiles and tree rings in selected localities in the Czech Republic. Altogether 12 peat bog profiles and 33 wood cores (Picea abies) were studied, in the border territories of the Czech Republic with different historical burdens (Krušné Hory - Novodomské rašeliniště - ND, Jizerské hory - Bílá Smědá - BS, Šumava - Jezerní slat - JS), and in a historically burdened area polluted by processing of Pb- Ag ores (Příbram-Brdy). In the vicinity of Příbram, areas around the Brdy ridge (9 km east of the Pb metallurgical works) as well as in the immediate vicinity of the metallurgical works. We used the...

The possibility of direct ODF/OOXML format processing in XSLT
Sem, Štěpán ; Kosek, Jiří (advisor) ; Nálevka, Petr (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to allow to work with XML document archives and related data directly by the help of XML tools, e.g. XSLT processors. It is particularly about ODF and OOXML format processing. The whole archive will be represented by only one XML document, which will directly include XML documents from the inside of the archive and base64 encoded binary data eventually. The representation will be created by the parser implemented in Java programming language. The first chapter describes an example of how the data can be stored inside the archive. It is necessary to realize, that after the archive decompression, we will get mainly XML documents, in which the prevailing part of the document's content is stored and that we can therefore directly process. First of all in the second chapter, we will describe various parser interfaces, which allow to work with the XML documents more easily. This information is closely related to the main scope of the thesis - parser implementation. After the brief identification with the existing possibilities of document processing, we will demonstrate the solution in the application using a concrete interface implementing parser on an accompanying example and we will give reasons for the solution chosen in this thesis. The third chapter analyses possibilities of an ZIP archive representation as an XML file and selection of the most suitable one for this application. We will also mention the possible solutions of situations, when the document contains links to another documents. The aim of the fourth chapter is to briefly construe the Java provided facilities, which relate to the solution itself, and to describe the concrete solution to the problem. The fifth chapter aims to demonstrate the usage of the created application.

History of the Bohemian Dominican Province in the Early New Age 1435-1790
Zouhar, Jakub ; Čornejová, Ivana (advisor) ; Petráň, Josef (referee) ; Černušák, Tomáš (referee)
This paper attempts to review the history of the Bohemian Dominican Province, specifically the history and impact of the Dominican Order on the life in the Lands of the Czech Crown at this time. There is a period of decline in prestige of the Order in the 15th and 16"' centuries but it is followed by a period of rebirth of its intellectual potency in the 17th century. The convents of the Dominican Order, as well as many of other Orders, were dissolved by the emperor Joseph II in the 1780s. I also pay close attention to the relationship between the Dominican Order and the Jesuits during the 17th and 18th centuries. The importance of this study for more detailed future research of the history of the Dominican Order is indisputable. I know of no other work dealing with this problem. I use mainly primary sources. The characteristic type of documents is Order chronicles, official documents and some historical works written by the members of the Order in the 17th and 18th century. Many of the documents are filed in the National Archive of the Czech State (Is1 department) and in the General Archive of the Dominican Order in Rome (Italy). Many of them have been unknown up to this time. In conclusion of this introduction I would like sum up that this paper has an ambition to reopen a new research and study of the...

"I like the Pilsners after all." Fridolín Macháček, Pilsner historian, archivist, museologist and cultural activist. Images of life and friendship in the mirror of his correspondence with Václav Vojtíšek
Janečková, Jitka ; Hlaváček, Ivan (advisor) ; Martinovský, Ivan (referee)
Jitka Janečková: "I like Pilsners after all". Fridolín Macháček, Pilsner historian, archivist, museologist and cultural activist. Images of life and friendship reflected in his correspondence with Václav Vojtíšek This rigorous work compares two life stories of friendship and cooperation between two major city archivists - Fridolín Macháček (1884-ň1954) from Pilsen and Václav Vojtíšek (1883-ň1974) from Prague. It is based on the preserved series of mutual correspondence (the edition of the most interesting 411 letters from 1905ň-1954) and other archival sources. It is incredible how promptly and fully the two friends and colleagues were able to engage in professional work in the archives as well as other institutions. The full expansion of their activities took place during the First Republic, which paid for the major czech archival experts and facilitated significant contribution of Macháček and Vojtíšek to the development of many local archives in Bohemia and Moravia (for example, they played a major role in establishing Ostrava city archive). The wide professional interest of the archival inspector for Bohemia (V. Vojtíšek) and monuments conservator (F. Macháček) in various local archives and museums also demonstrated the admirable and extraordinary cooperation outside their native region,...

Museum of Industrial Heritage in the Site of Old Textil Factory
Horáková, Terezie ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
The factory premises of the former factory OP Prostějov is the challenge for the future generations how to appraise today unused buildings which were build in 1950's. My design is counting with formation of new part of town, which disposes with centralizing the town-hall administration in one place allowing simple moving between individual authorities. Next there is designed the habitation as the small flats for old people and also big flats with interesting view. In some buildings there is designed the business incubator and in other building there is even the school. There are all facilities, services and leisure activities provided in the area. The Museum of Industrial Heritage is located in the middle of all events. It has three parts - exhibition, auditorium and deposit with administration. The old heating plant nearby is used as library and médiatheque with archives in connection with the museum. Shops, restaurants and other services are placed around.
