Drnovský, Pavel ; Brych, Vladimír (referee) ; Klápště, Jan (advisor)
This work processes archaeological research of former medieval fortress standing in the village Třebovětice (district Jičín), which was passed in the year 1921. The excavation works were directed by prof. Emil Dufek, who exposed the southern part. The fortress was for the first time mentioned in written sources in the year 1447 and for the last time is stated in the year 1682. The most of discovered masonry was founded on massive wooden stilts and beams. The extant cutting of one of the stilts was sent to dendrochronological analysis (discover date 1328+x). Altogether 268 archaeological finds were discovered. The acquired collection contains artefacts and ecofacts (pottery, ceramic tiles, glass, iron articles, bones of animals, leather). Part of work is a catalogue of all finds, including corresponding pictorial supplement. Processing brought us wealth of knowledge, concerning gentry's life in east Bohemia in the Middle Ages and early modern times.

The Legacy of Frédéric Bastiat
Chudoba, Matěj ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Pavlík, Ján (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with economic thought of Frédéric Bastiat; his complete work and fundamental ideas are introduced to readers. The biggest attention is paid to the "broken-window fallacy", e.g. preferring just immediate effects caused by a state intervention, and neglecting those long-term ones. The thesis presents a couple of examples of the impossibility to create even a single job vacancy by a state redistribution; the state only re-directs jobs from a private sector to the public one. The thesis follows up Bastiat's critic of protectionism and also demonstrates how a free international trade is veiled with a number of economic myths. Nor Bastiat's contribution in the domain of a spontaneous order and its difference from an artificially created socialist system is omitted. The aim of this work is not only to sum up his economic thinking but also to prove that his non-orthodox thoughts can be considered to be of a benefit for modern economics.

Changes in the function of the public space: Venceslas square
Kubecová, Barbora ; Pullmann, Michal (referee) ; Klusáková, Luďa (advisor)
My bachelor thesis has been focused on analysis of functional changes of a square as a public space. Squares in medieval cities used to serve particularly as market places; however, they also were places of gathering and places where the most important secular and religious institutions used to be placed. In big cities more squares were necessary to ensure certain operation, the function of which was not identical. In modern days the function of public places has changed even more. I have concentrated on one example of one Prague square that has always dominated among the others not only thanks to its size but especially its numerous social functions. I have become familiar with Kevin Lynch's theory on creating a picture of a city, where public places and namely squares are given a specific role. I have presented a basic review of Wenceslas Square development from its foundation until today, and have presented its functions, building development, function as a memory place, centre of business and social life. I have assessed its importance in comparison with other Prague squares and have concentrated on artistic and social and cultural points of view. I especially pointed out its development on the break of 19th and 20th centuries, where the medieval market place was turned into a modern avenue by which a...

Colonisation and church authorities in the theritory of historical Loket shire at 13th century
Konůpek, Jan ; Musílek, Martin (referee) ; Bobková, Lenka (advisor)
From the beginning of modern historical concern the 13th century has a stable position in all conceptions of the Czech history. There always was an actual era situation which showed in its evaluation. From middle of the 19th century until middle of the 20th century the arrival of new inhabitants from "German countries" and their proportion in building of houses and countrysides was the governing element of this interpretation. A number of authors occupied themselves by this issue, however, the basic interpretation scheme stayed more or less the same. Turn-over took place in the sixties when the European medieval change was observed by a different way. The range of questions and interpretative approaches radically changed. It reached the extension of geographical and time scope, in which the given changes were evaluated, the issue infliction into all-European context and the fundamental expansion of working methods of historiography.

The importance of František Kutnar for understanding the modern history of Bohemia
Středová, Veronika ; Beneš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Maur, Eduard (referee)
The importance of František Kutnar for understanding the modern history of Bohemia consists chiefly in his reception and consequent peculiar development of structuralism. He applied structuralist theses, conceived within Czech scholarly environment of the 30s of the 20th century, while thinking up his own stucturalist-functional approach towards the historic fact. Kutnar's ideas demonstrably stem from domestic inspiration sources, especially from Josef Ludvík Fišer's and Jan Mukařovský's writings, on the other hand he was wondrously anticipating theses of French historians of the first and second generation of the Annales Scholl, mainly of Marc Bloch and Fernand Braudel, eventually, he notably harmonized with their approaches. First features of Kutnar's structuralist-functional approach towards the historic fact can be traced already in his works from the early 40s. In Obrozenecký nacionalismus (1940) we find first formulations concerning the structuralist character of the historical reality, contents, transformations and functions of its individual components. More coherent interpretation can be found in Sociálně myšlenkové tvářnosti obrozenského lidu (1948), where Kutnar expressed his opinion of the structuralist approach towards the historic fact the people. There he pointed out its inner complexity,...

Processing 1.0
Pešek, Kryštof ; POSPISZYL, Tomáš (advisor) ; VOJTĚCHOVSKÝ, Miloš (referee)
In the filed of theoretical studies, my work consisting of completing the handbook for programming language called Processing. This particular programing language had been constructed during academical research at Massachutches Institute of Technology by its creators Benjamin Fry and Casey Reas. There are already many handbooks available: (i.e.: Casey Reas and Ben Fry, A programming handbook for designers and artist (2007), Ira Greenberg: Processing Creative coding and Computational Art (2007), Daniel Shiffman: Learning Processing: A Beginner's Guide to Programming Images, Animation, and Interaction (2008), Tom Igoe: Making Thinks Talk: Practical Methods for Connecting Physical Objects (2007).), but none of them is in Czech language. The handbook concept should keep the Processing methodological approach; to give an easy access to modern technology to an art and in general non-technical students. With little or without any previous programming experience.
