This bachelor's paper describes the position of Skoda Auto company on the Indian market. SWOT analysis and car sales comparison were used for the conclusions of this work. I also paid attention to India's automobile industry. Basic facts about India are also a part of this work as well as cultural differences and comparison of India and the Czech Republic according to dimensions defined by the Dutch sociologist Geert Hofstede.

Today, in the context of globalization, many different international companies in the global automotive industry prefer going international to enlarge their appearance as well as search for new business chances to earn more profit margins. Among them, Škoda Auto Group, the largest Czech car maker. At present, China and India are two of the most important automotive markets of Škoda Auto Group based on the market size and customers' base. Apart from China and India in the Asian region, Vietnam is also seen to be a very high potential market for every car maker in the South East Asian region because of the stable development of Vietnam's economy as well as high local customers' requirements. The goal of the thesis is to develop a marketing strategy for the market entry of Škoda Auto Group into the Vietnamese market.

Diploma thesis deals with the relationship between a company and the environment with regard to the possibility to reduce the negative influence of comapany's activities on the environment. Theoretical part generally deals with the human activities influence over the environment, the development of this relationship, theoretical principles of the environment protection and the possibilities to limit the negative environmental influence in business sphere. Empirical part uses Škoda Auto company to illustrate the environmental protection and effort to minimize the environmental influences in practice. Emphasis is laid not only on the manufactural process but also on the whole product life cycle. Diploma thesis objective is not only to illustrate the company approach to sustainable development especially to environment, but also to evaluate particular environmental project, which was realized in Škoda Auto company. Conclusion summarizes ascertained facts.
Automobilový průmysl v Evropě

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na analýzu vlivu přednostní skupiny CARS 21 spadající pod Evropskou komisi na konkrétní automobilky z Evropy (v našem případě Škoda Auto). V úvodní části jsou zmíněny základní informace o automobilovém průmyslu v Evropě. Dále je věnován bližší pohled na skupinu CARS 21, která byla založena za účelem pomoci evropskému automobilovému průmyslu ve zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti ve formě doporučení. Dosahují však tato doporučení vytouženého efektu. V poslední části se rozebírají aktivity Škoda Auto. Její hospodářská situace, portfoliová strategie a koncepce udržitelného rozvoje jsou blíže analyzovány. Závěr je zaměřen na zhodnocení stavu automobilového průmyslu v důsledku finanční krize a na do jaké míry skutečně komise "pomáhá" výrobcům automobilů.
