Fan art in official promotion of video games

With the rise of Internet, Web and new media technologies come increased opportunities for audience to recreate media content and influence its flow across different media platforms. The fan as a demanding yet enthusiastic consumer has become a centrepiece of media industries' marketing strategies. On the one hand, this qualitative change often described as participatory culture means a giant leap forward for fans, who can now serve new roles within the media industry. On the other, it represents a potential exploitation of media users, as unpaid volunteers do the labour professionals are paid for. This study investigates this tension in a case of videogame fans. On their official websites, videogame developers encourage fans to contribute with their fan art harnessing fan creativity for their advertising purposes. Convergence culture raises conflicts and compromises between creators of fan art (fan artists), and the owners of the copyrighted works they appropriate (game companies). This study addresses three main issues: (1) the way and circumstances under which game companies are displaying fan art on their official websites, (2) how fans understand the tensions between empowerment and exploitation, how do they address the issue of free labour, (3) how fans view issues concerning intellectual property...
Football Supporters as a Part of Civil Society

The diploma thesis "Football Supporters as a Part of Civil Society" deals with the phenomenon of football supporterism from the perspective of the relationship between fan groupings and civil society. After the introduction and the aims of the thesis, where the main aim is the basic description and classification of various forms of grouping of football fans, follows the theoretical part focusing on three main topics: civil society, social movements and subcultures and the world of football supporters. In the empirical part the author presents the results of her qualitative research using particularly methods of participant as well as non- participant observation, informal interviews and the study of documents. The author introduces her own typology of fan groups and organizations and describes their activities within the civil society. In the final part she summarizes the answers to the research questions. The thesis is supplied with a summary, a list of sources, an index, a glossary and three appendices.

This concept is supposed to lead to improvement in the field of communication with sports fans. Complementary assignment is the analysis and evaluation of current situation in communication with fans. This relation is one of the crucial points of sports club management. The examination of current state of affairs is based not only on SWOT analysis, but also on results of marketing research. This research is another complementary task of this thesis. Bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the marketing mix of ice hockey club PSG Zlín. The theoretical part parses general marketing terms, marketing environment, marketing mix instruments and their application in case of a sports club. The second part introduces the club and analyzes marketing enviroment of the club and its current marketing mix. The last part contains suggestions for its possible improvements.
Car Cabin Aditional Ventilation System Powered by Photovoltaic Panel

The aim of the Master thesis is to design and verify the function of the system for the ventilation of parked car in the summer season with the intention to cut down the temperature peak in the cabin of the vehicle. The design of the system consists of the suitable placement of the fans and corresponding inlets and outlets for the flowing of the ventilating air. The fans are powered by a photovoltaic panel. The functionality of the system is verified by the measuring of the temperature drop in the cabin of the car. The ambient conditions for the setting of the intensity of solar radiation and of the ambient temperature have been chosen from the real measurements from TUBO station which is meteorological station of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of BUT Brno.
Saving fans in HVAC systems

This Thesis deals with the fans, their properties and characteristics. The Project part is about design of the HVAC equipment in the centralised and decentralised option for the assigned building. The Project part is focused on the design and evaluation of the fans more specifically. The Experimental part is about measurement of parameters and characteristics of the fans. The results are analyzed and compared. The results are compared with current energy efficiency reguirements for fans.

Abstract The thesis deals with marketing communication of the ČSOB Pojišťovna Pardubice ice-hockey club with the main focus on the communication with visitors and fans and the promotion of the club's commercial partners. It makes suggestion on possible ways of development of the given marketing communication where the club's fans' communication represents the most important part of it. Not only it proposes improvement of the current tools and proceses, but it also introduces new, modern means of marketing communication. The aim of the proposal is to increase the general awareness of the club and its atractiveness.
Corporate Social Responsibility in profesional football clubs

Main focus of this thesis is social responsibility in professional football clubs of Europe. The theoretical part first of all describes the concept of corporate social responsibility with the most important characteristics and then explains some specifics of sport in economic terms. In the last part of the theoretical part offers an introduction of international and European football associations. In the practical part, the author describes and reviews the socially responsible activities of these organizations, followed by a comparison of European football leagues from the same perspective. Major part of practical part is focused on the most successful Czech football club AC Sparta Prague. Based on current activities and on a survey of club´s fans, a set of recommendations has been created for future socially responsible activities of the club.
Analysis of Attendance in Czech Ice Hockey Extraliga

The aim of this Master's thesis is to find, describe and analyse factors influencing the audience demand for Czech ice hockey extraliga matches and on the basis of the observed facts to try to suggest conceivable measures to increase such demand. There are especially mathematical and statistical methods widely applied in the practical part of the thesis. Particularly, arithmetic averages, correlation analyses and various kinds of specific coefficients are used. Average attendances and significance of individual factors are evaluated using the method of comparison, namely its factual, temporal as well as spatial form. The main contribution of this thesis consists mainly in the current mapping of the extraleague club fans' opinions and attitudes through the implementation of the comprehensive on-line survey whose results are contained in individual paragraphs.
