Catechesis of the mentally retarded: the sacrament of the Eucharist

Catechesis of the mentally retarded: the sacrament of the Eucharist. The aim of this work is to compile methodological recommendations for the catechesis of the sacrament of the Eucharist in the case of the mentally retarded. The topic was chosen with regard to the fact that this group of people obviously has specific characteristics to which catechesis needs to be adapted. On a theoretical level, the basic starting points concerning not only the breadth of the content of the Eucharist and its liturgical meanings will be introduced, but also the issue of mental retardation, all on the basis of drawing from professional sources. The practical part of the work will, among other things, deal with the own knowledge of the author, who works with the mentally retarded. Title: Negative emotions in swimming lessons for people with mental disability Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to determine the occurrence of negative emotions associated with swimming lessons in people with mental disabilities through selected methods. Other goals are to find out the nature of the occurrence and the possibility of influencing these emotions. The result of guided interviews and the subsequent synthesis of knowledge should be the development of principles that are causal for the prevention and possible positive influence of negative emotions associated with swimming instruction in people with mental disabilities. Research questions 1. Do people with mental disabilities experience negative emotions in connection with swimming lessons? 2. On what basis do these emotions arise? 3. An evaluation of work efficiency in Portus, an organisation for people with mental disabilities

This diploma thesis is to acquaint with people with intellectual disability. Basicaly it deals with terminology associated with intelectual disability, definitions, types of intellectual disability, symptoms and causes. One of the chapters is devoted to the principles of communication of people with mental disabilities and auxiliary communication techniques. Next it focuses on Portus organization, which has been working with this target group for over 20 years. It provides several social services, about which we gathered basic information and based them on the law on social services. The last chapter in the theoretical part is devoted to the burnout syndrome, which is in the opinion of helping professions and in social work, not least, a more common phenomenon than we can imagine. The investigation itself took place in the above- mentioned organization, where I distributed questionnaires on satisfaction with the services to several groups of respondents. In the practical part, I evaluated these questionnaires and evaluated them with other services. The evaluation showed that the clients are satisfied with the support provided and the employees and guardians (family members) perceive the situation in a very similar way. Regular physical activities and its influence on the development of children with mental disabilities

The aim of thesis is to create a comprehensive set of excercises for students with mental disabilities, attending primary school special. The set of excercises will be used, as a daily workout, with the children will have influenced in the common room before class begins. The warm -up will always take place at the same time in the same place to make it easier for children to develop a mobility habit. In the warm up, I will particularly focus on problem parts of students such as muscle dysbalance, flaccid and shortened back muscles. These problems stem from a long-term session on the school benches, but also from the different body structure of these children. However, I must take into account the health of the students and their mental level so that they are able to carry out the excercises at all. It is therefore necessary to consult with experienced educators and to study professional literature. The excercises should serve to create a mobility habit and improve their motor skills, while also repairing muscle dysbalance and strengthening and stretching back muscles. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create an educational plan for a particular girl with moderate mental retardation, which is focused on the practice of self-service activities that could be applied in practice.
Illustrated exchange communication system for children with mental retardation and autism

The Bachelor thesis called "Illustrated exchange communication system for children with mental retardation and autism" deals with the theme of special pedagogy. The thesis is divided into two consecutive parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part draws on professional publications and deals with terms such as autism, mental retardation, exchange image communication system, primary school and special school, communication, augmentative and alternative communication. The second part is elaborated in a practical level, where the basis is a questionnaire, which is answered by parents of children in elementary school and special school in Merklín. The aim of this work is to find out what is the awareness of parents about the exchange picture communication system and the subsequent cooperation of school and parents with other possibilities of training in the field of alternative communication.
Effect of occupational therapy on the client with mental and multiple disabilities

The Bachelor thesis entitled "Influence of occupational therapy on clients with intellectual and multiple disabilities" is focused on the effect of occupational therapy on people with disabilities. The theoretical part deals with the issue of the concept of occupational therapy, looks at its history and origin and defines the concept of mental retardation and Down syndrome. The second part focuses on the employment rate of people with intellectual disabilities. I'm finding out, how the therapy works upon them and whether it is beneficial for them. In the survey I used the method of observation and a partly free conversation. The results of the observation are processed in a detailed description of the client's skills, their evaluation and recommendation of further treatment.
Problematic behavior of pupils with autism and moderate mental retardation

This diploma thesis focuses on the topic of problematic behaviour of pupils with autism and medium mental retardation in an educational process. The main aim of this work is to learn about and describe teaching staff's experience with the occurrence and ways of handling problematic behaviour of these pupils. The theoretical part describes the basic terms related to autism, mental retardation and it also outlines a historical context of autism, etilogy, its classification and characteristic symptoms. The thesis also focuses on the diagnostic process in the psychological and pedagogical diagnostics, an overview of basic obligatory diagnostic tools is provided. It deals with the legislative framework of the education of pupils with autism and medium mental retardation, it describes the most common educational methods and therapeutic approaches in special schools. Next chapter defines the term problematic behaviour, outlines the diagnostic evaluations and some specific approaches to correcting such behaviour.
