Literacy of IS/IT in Czech republic

This thesis deals with the level of information literacy IS/IT in Czech republic based on comparison with surrounding states of European territory. Countries were chosen by number of inhabitants and their membership or long term cooperation with European Union. 16 countries meet given conditions - Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Austria, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Sweden and Norway. Countries were divided into 2 categories according the date of admission to European Union. First group were formed by so called "old" countries with Norway and in the second group were countries accepted to European Union in 2004 and 2007. The goal of this work is compare the level of information literacy IS/IT of Czech Republic with 16 chosen countries in 5 areas acting in information society -- i2010 benchmarking indicators and e2005 Policy indicators, computers and the Internet in households and enterprises, e-commerce by individuals and enterprises, structural indicators of information society and research and development. Final thesis analyses/subscribe years 2005 -- 2007 and presumable future development not only in the area of information literacy, but also information society.

Application of modern cluster analysis in a market segmentation

This thesis aims to describe the theoretical principles of customer segmentation using modern methods of cluster analysis and their practical verification in a commercial environment of utility company. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the principles of clustering analysis using K-means algorithm and hierarchical clustering algorithms. The SW support chapter deals with the possibilities of R, Rapid Miner and KXEN software tools. For the purpose of data processing the theoretical part describes SEMMA, 5A and CRISP methodologies. The practical part is focused on the analysis of homogeneity/heterogeneity of the energy market in the household segment in the utility company EON. Using data from company´s customer system, available external data and programming language R a hierarchical cluster analysis is processed. Through the analysis of gained clusters there are identified the main characteristics of particular clusters which are consequently examined from marketing usage perspectives.

Comparison of electronic commerce in Germany and Czech Republic

This work engages in comparing selected aspects of e-commerce in Czech Republic and Germany. Its main goal is to assess the level of development of e-commerce in Czech Republic's most recent history whilst benchmarking the situation in Germany. It also aims to evaluate the key prerequisites for development of e-commerce in both countries, name future perspectives and opportunities and compare certain current aspects and trends within the industry. The work is divided into theoretical and analytical parts. In the theoretical part terms are defined, subjects and applications of e-commerce are described and its development in the past twenty years in Czech Republic is evaluated. In the analytical part the prerequisites for growth of e-commerce in both countries such as legal environments, internet penetration or ICT equipment of households and business are compared. In the concluding chapter the development and current state of e-commerce in both regions are assessed and so is the EU's attitude towards the subject.

The analysis of the APR indicator on the consumer credit

This thesis deals with the analysis of the annual percentage rate (APR) and other key parameters of the consumer credit with regard to observance of the legal rules by major providers of the consumer credit on the Czech credit market. The first part deals with the economic implications of the consumer credit. It focuses mainly on the analysis of the indebtedness of Czech households on the consumer credit market. The second part deals with the legal implications of consumer credit, mainly legal requirements that are imposed on providers of the consumer credit. The third part provides the analysis of the APR indicator on the consumer credit and on the short-term loans. On the basis of the defined consumer credit models is provided the comparison of the APR for each credit both in terms of its compliance with the current legislation and in terms of the provider of the consumer credit. The final part deals with the specific recommendations for the financial literacy development and for the future legislative development.

Estimated impacts of VAT rate changes on households: comparison of two different scenarios from 2013

On November 7, 2012, the Chamber of Deputies passed the so-called stabilization package proposed by the government, which includes a hike of the VAT rate by 1 percentage point starting from the following year, hence the reduced and basic rates will increase to 15 and 21 percentages, respectively. This study presents a projection of the impacts of this bill and compares them to the current legislation, which unifies the VAT rates to 17.5%. The methodology underlying these projections is derived from an earlier IDEA Policy Study on “How Would The Tax Changes Impact Households and Public Budgets” published on February 24, 2011.

Analysis of debt and savings of czech households

Thesis deals with the analysis of financial behavior of czech population in terms of debt and savings. It focuses on households, because they support economic growth by consumer spending and also constitute an important factor in the labor market and store money into the various types of savings and thus provide important sources of financing to domestic economy. The work analyzes household debt with banks and non-banking institutions, its causes and possible consequences, and also includes comparison with the situation in the EU. Part of the savings analyzes the link between the level of gross savings, disposable income and household consumption and the relationship of growth of savings and unemployment, the development of various types of savings and compares the situation with EU countries.

Redistribution aspects of Public finance

This diploma thesis deals with the problematics of redistribution of public finance. The factors interfering in the process of redistribution are described here. The attention is paid to equality of redistribution of incomes within the group of monitored households. Since the level of redistribution is influenced by different factors, their analyses are carried out here. The levels of incomes redistribution inequality here are measured in monitored Czech hoseholds in the years 2005 until 2007. Calculations comprise analyses of individual types of incomes and items which influence equality of redistribution. A part of conclusion consists of comparison of the results from the mentioned statistics with the data published by OECD. The main aim of the thesis is confirmation or negation of the following hypothesis: "Tax system and social security system markedly influences redistribution of incomes in Czech households.".

The Mortgage market in the Czech Republic

The aim of this diploma paper is to describe the mortgage market in the Czech Republic. Firstly, I have analysed the general situation which is connected with the issue of providing the mortgage credit in the Czech Republic. The next point is the analysis of market of flats and support of the flat's market. One of this product is mortgage credit. I have analysed the main economic values such as mortgage credit, mortgage interest, classified mortgage credit, business cycle, etc. Especially I discussed the household sector because we can see the biggest growth there. Finally, I have compared the mortgage market in the Czech Republic, in the European Union and in the United States of America. The mortgage crisis in the USA is an ongoing economic problem and it caused a global financial crisis during 2007 -- 2008.

The bubbles on the asset market as the effect of monetary expansion and the impact to the real estate market

This thesis focuses on the progress of the real estate prices and the growing debt of households in the Czech Republic. Real estate prices are an important indicator of an economic activity in economy. The question of the inhabitancy is fundamental for majority of households. There was recorded an expressive growth of self -- living in the real estate market and the mortgage credit market in past years. I identify individual factors which impact to the market and appoint their importance. For the analysis is important to set off the subjects on the market because each subjekt is determinated of individual factors with different intensity.

The implementation flat tax in Czech Republic

The work is dedicated to analyse concept of the implementation flat tax in the Czech Republic. Theoretical part is based on the Tax theory, there are also described basic characteristics of tax systems, their functions and generally accepted fundamentals, which should proper tax system fulfil. Further theoretical part discuss tax theories development and their impact on practical questions about taxation during human history. The last part of the theoretical part is aimed straight at the flat tax. Characterize original concept of the flat tax and brings wider economic society opinions, which are completed by practical experience from the countries, where have been flat tax already implemented. Finally there are some alternatives to the flat tax mentioned, which were in case of the Czech Republic proposed. In practical part there are two tax systems compared, mainly focused on individual groups of tax payers, which differ in gross income and number of family members. I set up six groups of gross income in the way that best fits in the Czech circumstances. Aim is to compare tax burden for individual income groups in both tax systems. Analysis of the impact of the implementation flat tax for the specific income groups of inhabitants together with possible macroeconomic impact on the whole economy shows, whether the flat tax system in the Czech Republic is contibution or not.
