Nesting biology and alternative reproductive strategies in bees of the genus Anthophora (Hymenoptera)
Macháčková, Lenka ; Straka, Jakub (advisor) ; Tropek, Robert (referee)
My thesis is focused on the nesting behaviour and reproductive strategies of solitary bee Anthophora plumipes, which nests in colonies and builds the nests in the ground. During behavioral observation in seasons 2009 and 2010 the basic demographic characteristics of studied species were described and all the observed behavioral patterns were described in ethogram. Existence of intraspecific cleptoparasitism in form of usurpations was proved. From field usurpations were 22-33 % assessed as a real usurpations and 66-67 % were cases of use of an empty nests. Number of usurpation was constant throughout the season. There was increase in cases of use of empty nests at the end of the season. The underground nests were marked by lanthanides. This way the interactions between females could bee observed. In this way the intraspecific cleptoparasitism could be found out. 25-32 % samples were positive from 152 samples, that were measured on ICP. It suggests relatively low effectivity of marking. The mark losses reach up to 42 % during processing.

Benedictine Convent of St. Gabriel at Prague Smíchov
Wagner, David ; Foltýn, Dušan (advisor) ; Těšínská Lomičková, Radka (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the history of Saint Gabriel's Benedictine nunnery at Smíchov, which made a part of beuron congregation. I focus on a few disputable issues, which haven't been sufficiently solved so far and often have been neglected by Czech literature. The crucial question is, why exactly did the nuns have to leave the monastery. To provide an answer to this problem I had to perform a thorough study of the Beuron phenomenon in the context of the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the twentieth century, and, above all, I had to scrutinize the background of particular nuns. In this work, among other, I come to a conclusion that the reason for the nuns' departure, as well as for the overall specificity of the nunnery / monastery, was an unusual combination of extreme catholicism, German nationalism and their mostly aristocratic background. All the three aspects were in disagreement with the values acknowledged by the newly-emerged state of Czechoslovakia, whose apparatus didn't understand or didn't want to understand the mentality of the nuns and their commitments. This situation eventually culminates by the nuns moving out of the country and the building being sold to the Ministry of posts and telegraphs, with a real burden: a regular mass should be held in the church, which by...

Microscale flow and diffusion characteristics inside the urban area
Kukačka, Libor
Title: Microscale flow and diffusion characteristics inside the urban area Author: Libor Kukačka Department: Department of meteorology and enviroment protection Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Zbyněk Jaňour, DrSc., IT AS CR, v.v.i. Supervisor's e-mail address: janour@it.cas.cz Abstract: Dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere of urban areas is the important task in environmental sciences. The main goal was the quantitative studying of a flow in a symmetrical urban built-up area depending on a running on flow direction. There was given a theoretical base of the physical modelling of the atmospheric boundary layer in this work. The measurement was done with a model of the urban build-up area at a scale of 1:200 in the aerodynamic wind tunnel of the IT AS CR, v.v.i. in Nový Knín. The requirements to the similarity to a real atmospheric boundary layer and a model boundary layer in the wind tunnel were accomplished. Velocity fields, concentration fields and fields of scalar fluxes were measured in the area of a rectangular intersection. Results of the experiment showed significant sensitivity of the velocity field about the running on flow direction that extensively influenced ventilation of street canyons. Keywords: air pollution, atmospheric boundary layer, physical modelling, dispersion of passive contaminant,...

Gender Stereotypization in Sitcom Comeback
Follová, Klára ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Dominik, Šimon (referee)
UNIVERZITA KARLOVA V PRAZE FAKULTA SOCIÁLNÍCH VĚD Institut komunikačních studií a žurnalistiky Klára Follová Genderová stereotypizace v sitcomu Comeback Diplomová práce Praha 2011 2 Abstract In sitcoms we can find gender stereotypes, as well as other kinds of stereotypes. They are the same as those, which are incorporated in structures of real society. The reason of their existence in sitcoms is the fact that they are incorporated in models of characters, which mutual conflicts are what the sitcom humour is being built on. Because of the fact that the primary aim of sitcom is humour and not the reflexion of society, stereotypes are not as problematical as in the real society: sitcom uses them, but also criticizes them by its humour. On the case of the analyzed Czech sitcom "Comeback" I have found that confirming or denying gender stereotypes has no unified or systematical form in this kind of television output; so, in one single episode of some sitcom we can find both confirmation and denial of the same one stereotype. The reason of it is that stereotypes are used to build up comic situations, which is the main aim of sitcoms; therefore the main frame area of a sitcom is one scene leading to a point. Usually, sitcoms use to be based on situations of common life, therefore in building a joke they must remind...

Expropriation of immovables
Šebestová, Renata ; Drobník, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Franková, Martina (referee)
Expropriation of Real Property The purpose of my thesis is to investigate expropriation as an institute of administrative law in general and the conditions of its application. The thesis concentrates on the property right limitation and on the legal regulation of compensation for the limitation. Besides historical evolution, present legal regulation is described with focus on the most important expropriation conditions - public interest, purpose and compensation for expropriation. Last part of the paper addresses the administrative procedure of deprivation and limitation of the property right. The legal bases of expropriation are established in the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, which is part of constitutional system. Based on the Article 11 of this constitutional law the expropriation and mandatory limitation of property rights is permitted only in public interest, on the basis of law, and for compensation. These conditions of the Article 11 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedom are further specified in the Czech Civil Code. The general rule for expropriation is Act No. 184/2006 Coll. (Expropriation Act), enacting expropriation of the proprietorship title to land and buildings, including the compensation for expropriation and special administrative procedure. This...

Photocatalytic active coatings-environmental way to improve quality and durability of buildings
Sázavská, T. ; Jakubičková, M. ; Jirkovský, Jaromír ; Šubrt, Jan ; Peterka, F.
Transparent coatings of TiO2-SiO2 nanocomposite were developed to be applied on building facades in order to prevent growth of microorganisms and thus to improve urban building sustainability. Structure and texture characteristics of the prepared nanocomposites were determined by electron microscopy (SEM, TEM + EDS), their photocatalytic activity was quantified by testing self-cleaning ability and antimicrobial activity. The self-cleaning properties were evaluated according to the standard ISO method based on photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue. The TiO2-SiO2 nanocomposite coatings were applied on various types of substrates commonly used in building industry. The antimicrobial activity was mainly investigated for algae because these microorganisms are often responsible for facades ageing. According to the laboratory tests the prepared TiO2-SiO2 nanocomposites are highly efficient. This fact was already proved by first applications in real conditions. The transparent SiO2-TiO2 nanocomposites represent an ecological and noninvasive way how to keep nice appearance of buildings for a long time. It is due to their permanent photocatalytic activity causing self-cleaning and algicidal effects. Such coatings may significantly reduce ageing processes on facades of buildings that are caused by microbiological pollution and smog exhalations.

Housing construction in Village Dolní Třebonín and the influence of construction on development of this village.
ČÁSENSKÁ, Jana
The main subject of my thesis is concerning housing construction and it`s development influence upon the village Dolní Třebonín. This kind of housing construction was for village Dolní Třebonín of high importance. The village Dolní Třebonín is a small village with no more than 600 inhabitans. As a result of this small number of inhabitans a real apprehension occured {--} rescission of the local school, post ofiice, traffic and other improtant services. This could have substantial effect of the life quality in this village. To impove this dissatisfying situation was a suggested to build new housing possibilities and so increase the number of inhibitans in the village. The aim of this activity should be higher income for the willage{\crq}s budget and also to keep important services and to extend the platform of these services.

Stochastic dominance portfolio efficiency measures
Jakubcová, Monika ; Dupačová, Jitka (referee) ; Kopa, Miloš (advisor)
In the present work we study the stochastic dominance portfolio e ciency measures. The investor's risk attitude is given by the type of an utility function. If this information is unknown or a general investor is assumed, it is possible to use the stochastic dominance principle, in which the portfolio is only classi ed as e cient or ine cient. We build on the works of Post, Kuosmanen and Kopa, who formulated the criteria of portfolio e ciency for nonsatiate and risk averse investors. On the basis of these criteria, we de ne the second-order stochastic dominance (SSD) portfolio e ciency measures. We examine the properties of SSD ine ciency measures, which allow to compare SSD ine cient portfolios. We prove mutual relationships for the de ned SSD ine ciency measures. Eventually, we test the SSD e ciency of a US market portfolio on real-world US Stock Exchange data.
