The theme of the diploma thesis "Brno waterfront - rehabilitation of the Brno rivers and their surroundings" is creating an urban proposal in Brno, Zábrdovice, on the eastern waterfront of the Svitava river. The intention is to use the potential of the area and create the possibility of lucrative housing by river with a commercial ground floor, services, leisure time park with a multifunctional playground and easy direct access to the Svitava river. The studied location, has an area of 6.32 hectares andis defined mainly by the Zábrdovická Street and the Svitava River near the former Premonstratensian Monastery, which now serves as a Military Hospital. At present, the location has mainly low-floor industrial buildings with storage and expedition functions. The proposed buildings relate to existing buildings on the east and west banks of the Svitava River. They have the form of four to six storey blocks, which are characteristic for this area. The park connects to the revitalized eastern embankment of the river at the site of a new footbridgethat connects both rive sides and stairs. They provide space formeetings and relaxation, but also serve as a flood control in the event of a water inflow. Along the Svitava River there is a sidewalk with street alleyways and access to the river.

Melicharová, Andrea ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Ezzeddine, Petra (referee)
Gender in the playground: Ethnographic research This hesis analyses the (re)production of gender stereotypes in the playground. The theoretical framework of the analysis is based on the classical approaches (Renzetti and Curran 2005 Jarkovská 2004) , gender socialization (Giddens 1999, Gilligan 2001 and Bem 2003) and is also inspired by current research on playgrounds (Paetcher, Clark 2003 Millan 2012). The research was conducted at a playground located in Beroun throughout years 2013 and 2014 as a non-participating observation of the visitors of the playground. The work presents a comprehensive view of gender and gender stereotypes reproduced at the playground in two areas: 1) the area of gender stereotypes in the playground reproduced by children and 2) the area of gender stereotypes which adult accompaniment brings to the field. Analysis shows the way in which these categories are (re)constructed and played out in everyday life and how they affect the subculture of the playground. The analysis is mainly based on the surprising finding that the children at the playground were accompanied by almost the same number of men as women. Other findings are related to the children themselves. Children in the playground do a lot of gaming activities, which is no longer so surprising and also proves that...

The plot is next to the city centre from one side, from the other side its in neighbourhood of nature across the river. At the moment the place is used as an gallery of miniatures. The whole area is mix of many functions, from living to shopping, market, gallery, theatre and many other. In 2010 there were a competition about Černá louka, a Dutch studio Maxwan won and designed a cultural cluster in the ring of buildings on Černá louka. They desided to place a school in our parcela, because its great connection between nature and city. I used this idea and worked on it. The main mass is composed by 5 objects - school, kindergarden, high school, gym and community centre. In the centre of whole complex there is a playground - it will play an active role in the daily life of schools. The gymnastics hall as such can perform as sqaure: a meeting place, a theatre, a room for ceremonies and festivals. At the same time it will form the connection between different functions of school.
