Klíčovou sociální institucí je rodina. I přes množství svých současných podob je stále nezpochybnitelně místem primárních sociálních vztahů, tvořících oporu identity sociálního jedince. Každý jedinec je, po různě velkou část svého života, členem alespoň jedné rodiny, jejíž konstelace1 se s postupem času mění. Probíhá v ní socializace, proces v němž se reprodukují základní hodnoty společnosti. S tím se v rodině ale reprodukuj í l stereotypy, očekávání a interpretační schémata vztahů v rodině. Stejně jako všechny ostatní sociální instituce se l rodina pod vlivem různých sociálních změn mění, nebo je ovlivňuje. S tím se mění i ustálené vztahy, očekávání a tradice spj até s rodinným životem. Mění se také sociální postavení jednotlivých členů rodiny - muže, ženy a dítěte. V souvislosti s feministickou vlnou zájmu o problémy žen v soudobých společnostech se poslední dobou objevuje čím dál častěji požadavek rovnoměrné pozornosti problematice proměn mužství a otcovství.

Licence contract for industrial property rights under conditions of international trade

The diploma thesis deals with licence contract for industrial property rights under conditions of international trade. The first part describes basics of the discipline called intellectual property rights and mutual relation to industrial property rights. Furthermore the thesis includes relation between licence contract for industrial property rights and other contracts governed by private law. The second part is concerned with licence contract itself, including relation to licence governed by copyright law. Last but not least it deals with option contract and so called know how licence.

Clustering as a Tool of Competitiveness, the Case of the Czech Republic

This paper deals with the issue of clusters as relatively new tools of competitiveness in economies and examines their linkage to state through cluster policies and initiatives. At the beginning, a theoretical development of the concept is presented. Afterwards, the cluster concept as such is introduced, putting down a wide scale of supportive rationales, presenting also possible risks and explaining a linkage to innovation and competitiveness. The second part of the thesis treats the issue of cluster policies as possible means of a cluster creation. Aside from examining cluster policies in different views, an emphasis is put on the justification of the role of state which can take part as either contributive or disturbing factor. The empirical part of the paper presents the case of the Czech clustering. Firstly, the Czech cluster policy is analyzed concerning its targets, instruments, approaches and other relevant issues, focusing on shortcomings and problems of the policy. Further, a case study of the Moravian-Silesian automotive cluster is presented. In this part, the particular cluster is observed with a view to its origin, development and activities. The endeavor is to compare the case with the classical Porter model and find out its inadequacies.

The role of growth factors in the pathogenesis of papillary thyroid cancer

This thesis deals with the role of growth factors in the pathogenesis of thyroid gland tumors. There exist a lot of studies describing growth factors production or occurrence directly in the thyroid tissue. The aim of this thesis was to find possible differences in serum concentrations of growth factors in patients with thyroid adenoma and papillary cancer and in healthy people. The finding of suitable peripheral marker could be used in thyroid tumors diagnosis in the future. There was also detected growth factors production by normal thyroid gland and papillary thyroid cancer in a dynamic model of flow tissue culture, under the influence of stimulating substances. The aim was a more detailed understanding of particular growth factors role in a process of thyroid oncogenesis. Growth factors are polypeptides, proteins and glycoproteins with an informative and regulatory function. They have mainly local effects in tissues - autocrine and paracrine. They form an extensive cytokine network in the organism, with complicated synergic and antagonistic linkages. They are not specific for concrete cells, tissues or pathological processes. Empirical verification of short-run aggregate supply based on Lucas model and new Keynesian theory

The aim of the master thesis is to empirically analyze if there is a support for new classics or new Keynesians as a dominant theory of short-run aggregate supply curve. The analysis is based on dynamic panel data model for 38 countries and period between 1970 and 2014. Because the results show some evidence on negative significance of level of inflation in contrast with its variability, I conclude that there is support for the new Keynesian theory. I focus on examination of the panel data assumptions such as the stationarity of explanatory variables, existence of the individual or random effects, validity of homogeneity of slope coefficients and mainly the cross-sectional dependence of error terms. After testing for these assumptions, I choose the most suitable method of estimation for dynamic panel data models. I use these methods for analyzing both linear and non-linear specification of the given model. As a result, we can see that the selection of right estimation method plays a great role in final outcomes. I also check model robustness by including changes of real oil price as a proxy variable for the supply shock in the economy.

The Effects of Brand Extension Strategy, Beer Industry Case Study

Today there seems to be an increasing number of products similar to one another, especially on the fast-moving consumer goods market. Due to this recent trend, differentiation is necessary for companies to define their brand in relation to its competitors. One of the possibilities is the implementation of the brand extension strategy. The main objective of this master thesis is to investigate and analyze the effects of different types of brand extension strategies with the focus on the beer market. The first part of the thesis includes a thorough research of primary and secondary data, which provides insight into new trends and factors that influence the brand extension strategy and its success. The second part is more practical and is devoted to a case study of a Czech premium brand called Frisco. Given its increasing competition on the market, Frisco has recently changed its core strategy and extended portfolio.

Study on the relationship of the public to protection of nature in Protected Landscape Area Jeseník in the years 2009 - 2010

This thesis focuses on the relationship of the public to the very valuable natural phenomena on the Protected Landscape Area Jesenik, with which the public is exposed when visiting this area in the year-round tourism. It summarizes the long-term theoretical knowledge of the Protected Landscape Area and its individual protected areas - includes general information, describes the territory, objects and goals of protection and deals with their use in the tourism industry not only in the past, but in the present. The work is an overview of land use plans, care plans and analysis of qualitative and quantitative survey of visitors. The work includes results from field surveys, which took place in National nature reserve Praděd 2009-2010. The aim was to identify categories of visitors age, educational level and their relationship to nature conservation and activity Managing Protected Landscape Area Jesenik, related to tourism, offered by other sports activities (skiing and biking) and resorts in this area. The results obtained are compared with results in 2005-2006 processed in the thesis section Mgr. Markéty Beranové.

The impact on the european automotive industry by the free trade agreement between the European Union and Japan

The European Union is negotiating a free trade agreement with Japan since 2013. The subject of this diploma theses is to analyze how this agreement can influence either automotive industry. In order to understand the agreements possible influence, classical, neoclassical, contemporary and alternative theories of international trade and international trade policies are being examined. It is then analyzed what the agreement aims to accomplish in context of the Japanese macroeconomic, the history of trade relations and development, the current trade situation, production and demand on both markets. Finally, the agreement is compared to an existing agreement with Republic of Korea which is in a similar scenario. The result is that an increase of luxury cars being imported by each side is the most likely outcome.

Capital structure of Czech joint stock companies and its determinants

The aim of this thesis is to perform an analysis of capital structure of joint stock companies based in the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis introduces modern theories and main determinants of capital structure. Further it stakes out basic models used for testing the validity of mentioned theories and the methodology used. The second part of the thesis focuses on practical results of the analysis. The first chapter summarises descriptive analysis of the passive structure, the level of leverage, the composition of equity and liabilities of the joint stock companies. These ratios are judged mainly according to industry classification and the type of ownership. In the next step, the relationship between leverage and profitability is closely explored since it is thought to be one of the main determinants. In the last chapter, the models are applied to the sample of Czech companies with the effort to judge the validity of capital structure theories and to evaluate the effect of determinants on capital structure.

Review of the book Natural capitalism

Recenze je zaměřena na možné přínosy, které kniha přináší urbanismu, pojatému jako teorie prognóz, návrhu, výstavby a správy měst. Kniha uvádí témata, která již byla předmětem delšího zájmu, nových výzkumů a studií RMI (Rocky Mountains Institute v USA). Přes snahu autorů přinést co nejvíce případů aplikace nových přístupů, ekologických i ekonomických šancí - universálním návodem ani praktickým "manuálem" však kniha není. Mimo jiné i proto, že je ovlivněna současnou realitou USA, zejména problematikou závislosti společnosti na autech, a obsah knihy tak nesplňuje imperativ Alberta Einsteina, použitý jako motto knihy - " Problémy nelze řešit způsobem myšlení, který problémy vytvořil". Obsah kapitol 1 až 13 je zaměřen na moderní pojetí "ekologických služeb" přírody, tak aby dobře a udržitelně fungovala jako "faktor 4" kapitalismu. Kapitola 14 je zaměřena na "sociální služby", poskytované systémy jako jsou velká města, která jsou naplánována, realizována a spravována ve smyslu nově definovaných, udržitelných "sociálních služeb". Jako vzor je použito významné brazilské města Curitiba. Kapitola 14 je však mediální, nepřesvědčivá a postrádá jakékoli urbanistické informace. Detailnější pohled na případ města Curitiba si tudíž čtenář - odborník, politik, urbanista - musí získat sám a jinde. Je to nezbytné, jinak mu kniha poskytne o "faktoru 4" - sociálních službách - jen povrchní informace. Kapitola 15 je o prognózách a plánování ve vztahu ke společnému habitatu lidí a také ostatní přírody. Bohužel i v této kapitole chybí odpovídající konkrétní doklady.
