Floor function and fractional part of the real number
Bílek, Vladimír ; Novotná, Jarmila (advisor) ; Pilous, Derek (referee)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to acquaint the reader with the floor function, ceiling functions and with fractional part of the real number, and show the feasibility of selected equations of one unknown that contains the floor functions of the real number. In the introductory part of my thesis, necessary concepts, notations and definitions of these functions are defined. The main part of the work is devoted to a description of strategies for finding solutions to following four types of equations: , and . Derived general procedure for solving the first equation and a description of the strategy for finding solutions to the remaining three equations are the greatest benefits of my thesis. The procedures are demonstrated by examples in each chapter. The final section covers some types of unsolved problems from different areas of mathematics concerning this topic.

Violence in the medical departments and ways to solve the problem
Židová, Marie ; Votroubková, Michaela (advisor) ; Ulrychová, Hana (referee) ; Rožnovská, Ludmila (referee)
Keywords : violence, aggression, anger, physical aggression, vocal aggression, violence at work, disease, health, legislation, prevention of violence The theme violence is a very widely known problem. It would be almost impossible to summarize everything about violence in one sentence. Here are some important points. Aggression is one of the prime topics in medical spheres, not only in the Czech Republic but also in the whole world. In earlier days, there weren't given any proper definitions of violence, hence it's very difficult to compare, whether there was more violence in the past or nowadays. In some cultures (for example: Muslims) mild violence is tolerated, mainly, if is committed on women. It is necessary that more government institutes deal with this problem. Certain correction of legislation in medicine is needed to protect its workers in their jobs. It is an obligation of an employer to guarantee a safety of his employees. For a job well done and a satisfaction of employees and for the happiness of patients it is extremely important, that all employees are qualified and in appropriate numbers. Theoretical part deals with the definitions of violence, anger, aggression. The theory discussed is, why the aggressive and violent behaviour occurs in general. The reasons of violence at work,...

Bretton Woods Monetary System
Erlichová, Linda ; Kovář, Martin (advisor) ; Tumis, Stanislav (referee)
Bretton Woods system has never been a main topic of Czech economic literature even though it strongly influenced finance of the most developed countries between 1944 and 1971 (1973). This diploma thesis is an attempt to analyze this important historical phenomena in international finance and the last metal oriented system in the history. The first chapter brings the most important terms and definitions that are necessary for better understanding of this problem. It is followed by chapters analysing international finance development in this area starting with the interwar period, followed by creation of Bretton Woods Monetary System in 1944 and first very successful and hopeful years that finally came to an end with accumulation of more problems that put a strain on the system such as for instance creation of long term dollar deficits by United States. This paper also analyzes the most important problems, finds similarities between Bretton Woods System and European Monetary System and tries to answer a question if this system or any monetary system like that can be successful on a long term basis.

Acquisition of Czech by French learners: automatic analysis of errors in declension
Šmilauer, Ivan ; Hajičová, Eva (advisor) ; Hrdlička, Milan (referee) ; Cardey-Greenfield, Sylviane (referee)
Our work presents the realization of a platform of computer-assisted language learning CETLEF, featuring on-line fill-in-the-blank exercises with automatic feedback on errors. CETLEF, consisting of a relational data base and author and learner interfaces, rendered necessary the definition of a model for declension in Czech. This model contains a detailed classification of the paradigms and rules for the realization of vocalic and consonantal alternations. It enables the morphological annotation of required forms, the didactic presentation of the morphological system of Czech on the learning platform, as well as the automatic error diagnosis. Diagnosis is carried out by the comparison of an erroneous production with hypothetical forms generated from the stem of the required form. An appraisal of the diagnosis of the productions collected on CETLEF shows that the vast majority of errors can be interpreted with the aid of this technique.

The administrative difficulties in collecting new environmental taxes
Michalcová, Gabriela ; Pavel, Jan (advisor) ; Pavel, Jan (referee)
The submitted bachelor's thesis deals with the theme of the administrative difficulties in collecting environmental taxes. This issue is connected with the environmental tax reform in the Czech Republic and is discussed in the first part of this thesis in connection with the European direction. Other chapters cover administrative costs of taxation. There is a definition of administrative costs and also a description of the process of collecting data necessary for calculating administrative costs, using a method of a recounted worker. The results are compared -- the conclusion about the administrative difficulties is made on the base of this comparison.

The design of database for the company Foram spol. s r.o.
Gottwald, Karel ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Klas, Jan (referee)
The work deals with the definition of terms, mention of history and theory of design databases. The main objective was to propose a solution for the company Foram spol. s r.o. on the basis of theoretical knowledge in order to be usable in practice. The logic was to capture the reality of the best capturing given situation. It was necessary to communicate with the company and analyze their requirements. They defined the basis for drawing up a conceptual and physical model. Diagrams were created in PowerDesigner version 12.0. Finally, the functionality of the proposal was verified on the test data.

Tall rings
Penk, Tomáš ; Žemlička, Jan (advisor) ; Šťovíček, Jan (referee)
Perfect and max rings are known for over fifty years. Their theory is being steadily and intensively studied. The conditions defining them are mainly interesting while studying non-noetherian modules. In this work we summarize at first basic information about rings and modules with previous knowledge requiring just in elementary level. After summing up basic results in the theory of noetherian modules we will be prepaired for the definition of tall modules and tall rings. We show then that they are a generalization of prefect and max rings in a specific way. We bring out some examples of tall and non-tall rings with accenting commutative rings. Information which we obtain we try to generalize and use for searching some necessary and some sufficient conditions with the goal to be able to say about a commutative ring if it is tall or not. At the end we point out that in case of a commutative noetherian ring they are equivalent to each other and they give together to the concept tall ring an equivalent characterization.

Magnetic particles as a reversible carrier for enzyme electrodes
Janíček, Zdeněk ; Žeravík,, Jiří (referee) ; Skládal,, Petr (advisor)
Master’s thesis contains information about the enzymes, biosensors, enzyme biosensors and magnetic particles. Cholinesterasa (ChE) is the generally name for the two related enzymes, mutually differing appearance and biological functions. Acetylcholinesterasa (AChE) is necessary for the transmission of nervous excitement. AChE is located at cholinergic synapses, where is the hydrolysis of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and this termination by the nervous excitement. Butyrylcholinesterasa (BChE) is related to AChE and it is present in serum. Experimental part was focused on electrochemical biosensors with cholinesterase enzyme using magnetic particles for reversible reconstruction layer. Cholinesterase immobilization was carried out on the magnetic particles by covalent binding after glutaraldehyde activated. The measurement of activity take place with acetylthiocholin as a substrate in a flow system, magnetic particles were captured before the platinum electrode and produced by thiocholin is detected amperometric. The aim was to measure inhibition of AChE. Significant inhibition ChE is caused by certain drugs and pesticides based on organophosphates. There was tested by inhibition of AChE pesticide dichlorvos. Emphasis was on finding possible experimental conditions for the creation of the automated procedure to measure the AChE activity, which was based on auto-injector and pumps of Gilson, together with a 735 programme for the definition of the working configuration, preparation of measurement scripts and implementation of application methods.

Southern gothic family in the works of Flannery O'Connor and Walker Percy
Malířová, Barbora ; Procházka, Martin (advisor) ; Onufer, Petr (referee)
The literature anthologized under the label "American Southern Gothic" should be described and a thorough definition of the term should be given before an examination of one aspect of Gothicism in selected works by Flannery O'Connor and Walker Percy. To do so, it is necessary to separate the two components of the term and define each of them individually, i.e. we must deal first with the concepts of "Southern literature" and "Gothic art," and only then present a comprehensive definition of the joint category. According to Veronica Makowsky, in its most basic sense Southern literature is writing about the South, but this definition, as Makowsky herself admits, has many complications and thus she presents a more satisfying, theme-based definition: "Topically, Southern writing can concern the South or a Southerner's experience elsewhere, but it can also include a Southerner's writing on a non-Southern topic from a non-Southern point of view.,,1 As the quotation makes clear, it is not at all easy to define the literature of the South concisely and completely. It is best to say that all Southern writers share a common nature; the fact that they were born and raised in a region so much stigmatized by its past, burdened by military and economic defeat, caused that the artists show a distinct affinity both in the...
