Providing flexibility with detachable loads Procurement and commodity product prediction
Sykora, Jan ; Radil, Lukas ; Pilař, Martin
Flexibility is generally considered as the potential ofa facility (generation/consumption or storage) to actively changethe amount of its generation/consumption/accumulated energybased on price signals or direction. This control strategies ismanaged to correct deviations of the electricity grid or to ensurethat the purchase/sale of electricity is profitable for the flexibilityprovider. This paper presents a comparison of the control of heatpump consumption to provide consumption flexibility.
Design of an integrated self-sufficient residential house
Klouda, Jan ; Jaššo, Kamil (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of an integrated island system for control and power supply of a residential house. The aim of the thesis is to develop a design for this self-contained islanded power supply, and to evaluate the proposed system from different perspectives. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is made by researching the possible solutions of a self-sufficient power supply for a residential house. This research contains mostly available technologies in the Czech Republic, and deals only with the domestic market. In the first part, different relevant methods of electricity generation, processing and storage are described. Then, the different technologies are described in detail and compared in order to achieve the highest possible economic, environmental and social compatibility. In the second part, the different technologies are implemented on the defined house to create a design for a self-sufficient house. This design includes several simulations and the selection of the most appropriate technologies. The resulting design is also compared with an already built self-sufficient house.
Negative electrode for sodium-ion batteries.
Šimek, A.
This work is primarily focused on the development of negative electrodes for sodium-ion batteries. This type of battery does not use lithium for its operation and could therefore be a promising successor to lithium-ion batteries in selected areas. Particular attention is paid to sodium titanates, which serve as an active material in the negative electrode mass.
Mitigation of Climate Change in the Energy Sector from the European Union Law Perspective
Jelínková, Anna ; Fabšíková, Tereza (advisor) ; Sobotka, Michal (referee)
Mitigation of Climate Change in the Energy Sector from the European Union Law Perspective Abstract Climate change is a global problem that can only be prevented through a systematic change in a number of areas of human activity. The key element in climate change mitigation is the measures taken in the energy sector, as the energy sector produces the largest amount of greenhouse gas emissions compared to other economic sectors. Therefore, the EU pays considerable attention to mitigation measures in the energy sector in its climate policy. The 2030 Climate & Energy Framework not only outlines the objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but also prescribes binding targets on increasing the share of renewable energy in the final energy consumption in the EU and on improving energy efficiency. The aim of this master's thesis is to explain the complex climate change mitigation system in the energy sector as regulated by the EU law. The EU climate law stems from international legislation, therefore, this thesis first focuses on the basic instruments of the climate law that were adopted at the international level, and following that, it analyses the European legislation in detail. In this context, the current climate targets resulting from both international regulation and European legislation are...
Building design with minimal environmental impact
Fric, Marek ; Kolářová, Eva (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The content of my master´s project is a design of an NZEB building of a restaurant. The building is located in Brno near Nová Zbrojovka and the Svitava river. The design was carried out with Revit and with a partial implementation of BIM. The master´s project consists of three main parts. The first part focuses on the structural design of the building, the second part is focused on the design of building services and the third part consists of introducing the possibilities of advanced application of BIM in the design of the buildings. The building is V-shaped with a flat green roof and has two floors. The load-bearing system combines masonry walls, reinforced concrete walls, and columns. The floor slabs are also made of reinforced concrete. The partitions are made of plasterboard and masonry. The foundation of the building is formed by a reinforced concrete ground slab. For the insulation was chosen combination of ETICS and ventilated facade. The heating, cooling and air conditioning are provided by an HVAC systém and heat pumps. As a source of hot domestic water was designed electric boiler and heat pumps. The main source of electric energy is provided by a distribution network but partial independence of the building on the distribution network is ensured by photovoltaic panels. The sewer system is made of a combination of gravity sanitary sewer and a vacuum stormwater system. A source of drinking water is the water supply system.
Systém aktivního chlazení fotovoltaických panelů pro zvýšení jejich účinnosti
LANDKAMER, Ladislav
The work was divided into two main parts. The first one dealt with the analysis of the problem of influencing the performance of photovoltaic panels by active cooling. Based on the results of the analysis, an optimal system for active cooling was designed with respect to the performance enhancement but also to the damage elimination possibilities. The parameters for the implementation of the system were specified depending on the analysis performed. This analysis provided answers to the choice of the appropriate technology and to the technical design of the whole system. The second part of the work presented the actual technical solution. In the form of its design, construction, programming and testing of the resulting system.
Negative impact of renewable energy sources
Kleinová, Martina ; Lachman, Jakub (referee) ; Sitek, Tomáš (advisor)
The main focus of this work was to delve deeper into the issue of renewable energy. Firstly, we have looked at the different types in general and their characteristics, but in particular we have focused on the negative impacts they bring. Since renewable energy sources are our future, it is necessary to become familiar with their potential, possible shortcomings, the degree of severity of these problems and possible solutions. In the last part of the thesis, we looked at the use of renewables in the Czech Republic and evaluated the current policy and energy market.
Design of a photovoltaic power system with battery storage for household purposes in area of Brno-mesto
Preto má nižšiu dobu návratnosti šiestich rokov, v porovnaní so siedmimi rokmi v prípade hybridného systému. Hybridný systém je výhodný, pretože umožňuje lokálne ukladanie energie a poskytuje záložné napájanie v prípade výpadku prúdu. Dodávateľ elektriny umožňuje uložiť prebytočnú energiu vyrobenú systémami do virtuálnej batérie, z ktorej je možné počas roka čerpať v čase nedostatočnej výroby energie. V kombinácii so súčasnými vysokými cenami energie majú oba systémy relatívne krátke obdobie finančného bodu zvratu v porovnaní so systémami v minulosti. Finálny výber typu inštalovaného systému je na klientovi.
