Extracting Structured Data from Czech Web Using Extraction Ontologies
Pouzar, Aleš ; Svátek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Labský, Martin (referee)
The presented thesis deals with the task of automatic information extraction from HTML documents for two selected domains. Laptop offers are extracted from e-shops and free-published job offerings are extracted from company sites. The extraction process outputs structured data of high granularity grouped into data records, in which corresponding semantic label is assigned to each data item. The task was performed using the extraction system Ex, which combines two approaches: manually written rules and supervised machine learning algorithms. Due to the expert knowledge in the form of extraction rules the lack of training data could be overcome. The rules are independent of the specific formatting structure so that one extraction model could be used for heterogeneous set of documents. The achieved success of the extraction process in the case of laptop offers showed that extraction ontology describing one or a few product types could be combined with wrapper induction methods to automatically extract all product type offers on a web scale with minimum human effort.

Relevant psychometric characteristics and rules for the test usage and evaluation are mentioned there. Next section describes specifics of hand workers selection. The practical section describes creating of a specific methodology for selection for the position operator in the production. Working conditions at a given position are approximated, job is analyzed, competency profile created and a selection tool (group of tests) designed. The selection tool consists of two ability tests, which were normalized to a sample of operators prior to being put into practice. Manual dexterity test was accustomed to the conditions of the...

Computer naratology: narrative templates in computer games
Praks, Vítězslav ; Hrbata, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Češka, Jakub (referee) ; Kubíček, Tomáš (referee)
Relations and actions between literature and computer games were examined. Study contains theoretical analysis of game as an aesthetic artefact. To play a game means to leave practical world for sake of a fictional world. Artistic communication has more similarities with game communication than with normal, practical communication. Game study can help us understand basic concepts of art communication (game rules - poetic rules, game world - fiction, function in game - meaning in art). Computer games are interpreted in the study using naratological and ludological approach. Computer is tracted as a narrative medium (to narrate means to demonstrate, to present any content, not only epic content). Computer games are interesting phoenomena for its specifical aspects: interactivity, self-narration and computer simulated narration. Main attention in this study is focused on phoenomena of computer generated literature (prose and poetry). The main purpose of this area is in study considered for literary analysis of "belles lettres". Author examines and demonstrates plausible computer generated fiction analysis of narrative texts. Two such analysis are proposed in a study, one of them (prose analysis - fabule generation) is detaily manifested on concrete literary text.

Böhmová, Dorota ; Dvořáková, Vladimíra (advisor) ; Smetanková, Daša (referee)
The thesis deals with the Euroepan elections in 2004 and 2009 where the emphasise is placed on Slovakia, as a new member country. The resource for the inquiry into the election results was the second order election model which was forumulated after the first direct elections to the European Parliament in 1979. The other tack of the thesis is current situation of parties representing the social democracy and the crisis of the social democracy in general which took effect in the European elections in 2009. In Slovakia, this overflow of the social democracy represented by the governing party SMER -- SD did not occur, thereby one of the basic rules of the second order elections was not approved. The thesis therefore resolves the question if this model is fully applicable to Slovakia, as a representative of the so -- called Eastern enlargement.

Concerning cultural life, the characteristic features are to be found primarily in the way cultural activities are supported and publically financed. So called "transformation" of Prague theaters suggests that "The Grant System of the City of Prague" is closely linked with the ownership structure of theaters. The particular way the theaters, i.e. providers of the public service, are supported changes the way individual theater are run. The goal of the Master Thesis is to assess financial support of theaters in the City of Prague with respect to different ownership structures and to point out to potential links between the actual support of culture and the current priorities in this area in the City of Prague as well as in the Czech Republic as a whole. The starting point is with the description of the current governance of the Prague's cultural life, its organization and linkages. A particular attention is paid to the comparison of various ownership structures in the sphere of culture and to the Grant System of the City of Prague. A separate chapter is devoted to the overview of requirements and rules for the provision of public financial support with selected theaters. Consequently, the present-day system of governance and support of cultural activities in Prague is evaluated together with selected ownership structures of theaters.
