FLATcon system – flat control system with RF communication
Krivoklatský, Filip ; Arm, Jakub (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis discusses solutions of smart houses. It presents some of the available solutions on market and points out its positives and negatives. The thesis itself focuses on solutions which support wireless communication. Subsequently, the design of custom solution named FLATcon is being proposed. It includes designing of central unit, which is the main part of the system. First, the hardware part is being designed. Base of this is minicomputer Raspberry Pi 3 B with necessary inputs and outputs. Uninterruptible power supply and wireless communication interface are also part of the design. Subsequently, thesis focuses on control software design and on user interface in form of web server. At the end of this thesis, achieved results are presented.
Automated Plant Growing
Švancer, Jan ; Široký, Adam (referee) ; Musil, Martin (advisor)
This thesis combines two current trends - the Internet of Things and Urban Agriculture. It describes technologies for wireless sensors communication in smart homes and hardware for their implementation. Based on these technologies smart hardware for automatic plants growing is implemented and connected to cloud with remote access via iOS mobile application.

This master thesis deals with the proposal of smart home device. As a part of the work is analyzing of devices on the market, theoretical learning methods of remote control and selection optimal solution for creating own smart home device. As a result of the master thesis is making and testing created device.
Mobile Application for Controlling Smart Home Devices
Masár, Andrej ; Smékal, David (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
The objective of this thesis is the issue of the Internet of Things and its application as a Smart Home. The work describes the design and implementation of a native mobile application for Android to control the elements of a Smart Home. The application communicates with the Smart Home using the MQTT protocol. The resulting application demonstrates the control of devices in a Smart Home according to the MQTT2GO convention.
Integration of Sensors and Actors into the BeeeOn System
Bednařík, David ; Korček, Pavol (referee) ; Viktorin, Jan (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis, the task was to acquaint with components of smart home from these vendors Belkin WeMo, Philips Hue, BeeWi, to study their communication protocol and create modules to BeeeOn system to control them. In the theoretical part of thesis is described how the BeeeOn system works and how the single device from mentioned manufacturers behaves and communicates. In the practical part, it is mentioned the way of extension of BeeeOn Gateway application to modules for control the smart home devices. This part also includes the methods of testing and verification of accuracy of implementation.
Intelligent Presence Detection
Kronika, Vojtěch ; Smrčka, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Vladimír (advisor)
In this work I dealt with the solution of indoor localization, its design and implementation. We are at a time when the topic of smart home is a daily affair and the solution for indoor localization does not have a certain winner yet. The goal of this work is to create an intelligent presence detector, using Bluetooth technology, which recognizes in which room the device is located. And it estimates in which part of the room the device can be located. To achieve the goal, I use at least three sensors in each room and compare the signal strengths between the sensors and the localized device. A Kalman filter is used for a noise reduction on data signals from sensors. The result of the work is a functional solution for indoor localization. I have found that it is not easy to use rapidly changing signal strength within triangulation to obtain the exact position of the device. Further work could address what needs to be done to make triangulation possible and functional. One of possible directions is an exploration of Bluetooth Direction Finding technology.
Electrical installation of multifunctional house using intelligent control
Kroutil, Roman ; Bátora, Branislav (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is the theoretical clarification of the issue of intelligent electrical installations, electro project documentation creation and a specific development project, smart wiring. The work consists of three parts. In the first part the reader is becoming familiar with the power distribution problems and subsequently in details with the issue of intelligent electrical installations. This thesis describes the development, standards and use of the intelligent systems. There is also a description of the various manufacturers and their systems, which are widespread in the Czech Republic, followed by comparing them according to selected criteria and finally the advantages and disadvantages are compared to the traditional smart wiring. Another part deals with the principles and methods of making electrical projects. There are all part of the project documentation procedure for their creation, the principles to be observed, and the most important and most relevant standards, laws and regulations relating to the right wiring are given. The last part is completely processed wiring project using intelligent control. The project consists of all the elements needed for building management, which are drawings of floor plans of all floors of the building, all switchboards schemes, scheme and system power distribution, inventory of material used and the technical report.
Trully Smart Smart Socket
Valušek, Ondřej ; Zemčík, Pavel (referee) ; Materna, Zdeněk (advisor)
There is a large selection of so called smart sockets available on the market today. The possibilities of these sockets are sadly very limited. Typically, they can measure power consumption, be turned off and on remotely by mobile application and timer. This thesis deals with this problem by showing how a smart relay can be used to create a truly smart smart socket that can classify currently connected appliances using just short time window for up to three devices combined. The power consumption is measured using Shelly 1PM together for three plugs. Using time series feature extraction, unknown device detection with SVM and neural network classification, the accuracy was over 99%. on a dataset containing combinations of smart TV, lamp and a laptop consumption. Information about currently connected devices is displayed on a webpage and written to a database to be viewed later. The information about connecting and disconnecting a device can be further sent to a system for smart home management.
Design of application of radio-frequency control system Xcomfort in modern building
Marek, Jan ; Pěcha, Jiří (referee) ; Bátora, Branislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on a reconstruction of an electro-installation used in a family house and an implementation of a radio frequency system xComfort for an intelligent electro-installation produced by Eaton company. This system was chosen due to customer´s request and also for its easy service. The first part of the thesis describes a history of an intelligent electro-installation with a description of a radio frequency system including its basic components. Next, there is an overview and basic characteristics of other producers´ systems and also their comparison. The thesis also provides main features of bus systems and a difference between the used radio-frequency system xComfort compared with a bus system. The advantages and disadvantages between the bus bar system and the radio frequency system are clearly described there. The major part of this work is focused on a practical design of the intelligent electro-installation in a specific object. In the appendix there is a technical documentation needed for the realisation of the building. This documentation includes a layout of used components controlling lights, Venetian blinds, heating and line schemes of switchboards. The design also includes a program that controls individual components formed by a software Eaton RF-System.
Simulation-Based Development of Heating Control System
Tomeček, Jan ; Rozman, Jaroslav (referee) ; Janoušek, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis is about optimalization of boiler heating from external sources. I have created a simulation model of Heating Control System. Subsequently, using a simulation model, I proposed possible optimizations for water heating control. The used optimization method was deep Q-learning. The result of this work shows the use of simulation for the development and optimalization of control systems.
