Evaluation of eating habits and physical activities in preschool children

This bachelor thesis deals with theme of eating habits in preschool children and their physical activities. The thesis is divided into theoretical part, which process informations have been published about this topic and the practical part, which analyses eating and physical activities in preschool children. The sources used are mentioned in final chapter of the thesis. The objective of research was to summarize an important knowledge about children nutrition and their physical activity and submit results of the research. The theoretical part offers about characteristic of preschool period, specific dietary guidelines and the most frequent dietary restrictions, presents important roles of basic macronutriens and major micronutrients essentials in preschool age. Moreover this thesis devotes to importance of physical activity and its influence of children's health and gives examples of appropriate physical activities and games for children. The practical part analyzes the main research which includes calculation of intakes of nutrients and evaluation of questionnaire related to the physical activity of preschool children. The content of this thesis is the theoretical analysis of the "Healthy alphabet", whose aim is the establishment of healthy living habits in the form of education for preschool-aged children. Based on the theoretical basis of the program, the object of my research is to determine how the program is used in practice, i.e. in kindergartens. The thesis also includes the issue of overweight and obesity in children, which is particularly linked to the lifestyle of the individual. Title of work: The relationship between education and human dietary habits of high school students. Aim of work: Due to a survey find out and compare the eating habits of adolescents based on their education. Method: Survey. Results: The group, that follows the principles of a rational alimentation, is young grammar school students. The group that sticks to these principles the least are students of vocational schools. Boys stick to the principles of a healthy life style more. Not only they eat well, they also have more physical activities than girls. The best eating habits, more physical activities and BMI figures have boys, who study at a grammar school. Donor eating habits and drinking schedule before plasmapheresis

(thesis): Basis: This diploma thesis follows the bachelor thesis that concentrates on the eating habits and water intake of blood plasma donors before plasmapheresis. Goals: The research had four goals: 1) explore to what extent does providing of the educational material influence the awareness of blood plasma donors. 2) To map subjective state of health and lifestyle of plasma donors regarding their physical activity, healthy, regular, varied diet, smoking and sleep schedule. 3) To explore the knowledge of regime measures and risk behaviour before donating blood plasma. To evaluate donors' eating habits and water intake before plasmapheresis and reveal potential deficiencies. 4) Evaluate the knowledge of a given problem with those respondents who were provided with educational material in comparison with those respondents who got no educational material. Methods: An educational material was created regarding regime measures of blood plasma donors. This educational material served as the basis for standardized anonymous questionnaire. Overweight and obesity in secondary school children

Title: Overweight and obesity in secondary school children Objectives: The main objective of this work is to compare eating habits of children (girls and boys) in the eighth and ninth grades in grammar schools and appropriate grades in gymnasium during the stay in a school. The thesis performs an analysis of the Decree no. 282/2016 Coll., which have come into effect on September 20th, 2016 (clearance sale is possible until January 1st, 2017) and restricts the offer of school food vending machines. Methods: The explorative method of questionnaire survey was used in the thesis. The descriptive approach was used to quantify the obtained data. The methods of comparison, logic, analysis and induction were applied for the analysis of the obtained data. The analysis method was used to analyse individual groups and methods of induction and logic were used while exerting general conclusions and rules. Thanks to the comparison method were compared all studied groups. The influence of food vending machines on children's eating habits was evaluated. Results: It was found that 44 % of girls in gymnasium uses vending machines, although they have a snack from home. In the other groups uses vending machines only 8-14 % of pupils. Gastronomy as a part of life style in the Czech national print media in the period between the wars in Czechoslovak Republic

The doctoral thesis Gastronomy as a part of life style in the Czech national print media in the period between the wars in Czechoslovak Republic presents the results of eight years long research of food journalism in the Czech press between 1918 and 1938. This period called First Republic is often seen, due the positive sentiment, as a modern, democratic and prosperous state. The reality is a different. This text presents just a little part of picture of life style during First Republic which is gastronomy. That mirrors the economic and social level of the society. This text reflects critically the historical facts. The assumption, that print media pay regularly attention to the gastronomy as an integral part of life is important idea of this research. The content analysis proofs, that food journalism had its own section in the analyzed daily print, although media didn't used this kind of terminology. Five national newspapers (Lidové noviny, Národní politika, České slovo, Právo lidu and Venkov) were issued in the period 1918-1938 and newspapers Rudé právo established 1920 are included in the analysis. Eating habits of children in sports primary schools

Title: Eating habits of children in sports primary schools Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out and compare the eating habits of selected children from sports and non-sports classes at primary schools with a sports focus. Methods: In the research part, a survey was chosen, the aim of which was to obtain the necessary information regarding the eating habits of a selected group of students. A total of 208 respondents aged 10-15 participated in the survey. Results: The obtained average BMI values of all respondents are below the 75th percentile, which indicates the values of optimal and proportional body weight. We found different eating habits between respondents of sports and non-sports classes. Respondents from non-sports classes have worse eating habits than respondents from sports classes. However, surprising differences were evaluated in the possibilities of spending free time. A total of 39.6% of respondents spend time at the weekend at home or in other activities, such as watching television. Of this, 22.6% are respondents from sports classes, which is more than respondents from non- sports classes (17.1%). The role of nutrition in the treatment of osteoporosis

Introduction: Osteoporosis is one of the most frequent bone metabolic disease. It is a systemic metabolic skeleton disease, where the architecture of bone tissue is damaged due to the loss of bone mass, and therefore the bone quality is reduced. Thus, it comes to increased bones fragility and reduction in mechanical resistance, which leads to a higher risk of fractures. The principle of pathogenesis is an imbalance between resorption and bone formation. Due to increasing lifetime and lifestyle changes, the prevalence of the disease increases. Aim: The aim of the practical part of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the eating habits of postmenopausal women treated for osteoporosis and to evaluate their nutritional condition in relation to bone mineral density (BMD). Methods: Nutritional habits were obtained and evaluated through a questionnaire survey. Three-day meal records were collected and analysed using the Nutriservis Profesional nutritional software, to determine the energy intake and selected nutrients. Osteodensitometric data were measured using dual emission X-ray absorptiometry (DXA).
