CO-HOUSING, Brno Židenice
Dušková, Petra ; Sedlák, Jan (referee) ; Kiszka, Josef (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis was the ideological elaboration of the architectural study of the building for community housing. The proposal follows the elaborated urban concept of Brno Židenice, specifically the territory, which is on the border of the city districts of Zábrdovice and Židenice. Already in this part I considered the social component in the architectural and urban planning designing a substantial representation and in this diploma thesis I further develop this social idea through a concrete house. The whole work is based on two principles, of which I am when designing the object. From the context of today, what effect it has on man, and in particular how this influence changes his way of life and his needs. I am further it was based on the principle of a specific place or city, and I tried in these two aspects to find connections and possible solutions. The result is a residential house, designed so that the very concept of co-housing, roommate, is not anchored only in the building itself, but that its significance could also be transmitted through the walls to the neighboring streets and other public ones space. So that roommates means not just sharing a home, but sharing together in streets and location where our home is located. To learn again to live together and not just side by side.

Representation of the House in British Fiction /1906-2009)
Hanzlová, Tereza ; Grmelová, Anna (advisor) ; Chalupský, Petr (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on diverse representations of the house in selected British novels since 1906. The novels have been chosen in reference to the importance assigned to houses in terms of plot, characters, and setting, each offering a unique vision of the house. A house is perceived as a home, as a possession or as a work of art. The novels by E.M. Forster, John Galsworthy and Simon Mawer are viewed through the prism of Phenomenology, namely the essays of Martin Heidegger, Jan Patočka and Anna Hogenová. This type of analysis provides an insight into the motivations of the individual characters, but also a deeper understanding of the function and role of the house in fiction as well as in reality. All the works are studied accordingly in the context of a wider social, cultural and aesthetic background. Key words: British fiction, Phenomenology, House, Home, Modernism, Work of Art

Prevention and social services to solve homelessness of young people in the Czech Republic
Hájková, Kristýna ; Kotrusová, Miriam (advisor) ; Čampulková, Jitka (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of homelessness among the young people. The rates of people in the age 18-26 who are endangered by social exclusion are steadily rising in the Czech Republic. The most vulnerable are those from dysfunctional homes as well as those lacking their families entirely. Those individuals tend to be raised in institutional care usually lacking in role models and have little to no financial and social resources at their disposal. Social exclusion always originates from variety of different problems that need to be taken care of before they become too severe. That is why I decided to identify the characteristics of this group of people and specify the appropriate methods of cooperation. I define the various ways of prevention and support. In addition to that, I describe persisting barriers in the current system of social services. Last but not least, I aim to present information about the process of social inclusion, together with its successes and shortcomings young people may encounter during the procedure. The main body of work is based on expert interviews I conducted with professionals working in organizations engaged with the homeless people. The collected data were analyzed through the method of thematic analysis which helped to uncover all the important...
