The theoretical part of the Thesis deals with methods and forms, which are based on studied literature, mainly of methodical kind. The practical part engages in using activating methods and forms, primarily concrete didactic games in Mathematics. The chapter named "Collection of games" includes fifteen didactic games focused on development of creativity and logical thinking, which are verified by young learners at the lower-primary level of several schools. The characterization of each game is composed of many parts, where key competencies, a didactic aim, a recommended grade, a description of the activity, needed aids and also reflections of the realization of the game with children are indicated. The realization is variegated of anticipated difficulties, recommendations and modifications.
Problems from environment Parquet for children entering the first grade of primary school
Šmídová, Kateřina ; Slezáková, Jana (advisor) ; Jirotková, Darina (referee)
The aim of the submitted diploma thesis is to complete a series of graded tasks from the manipulative environment of Parquet. Then apply these tasks to preschool and school children in the 1st year of elementary school. Not only observe how they cope with these activities, but also how they think, explain their actions, and how they communicate with each other. Observe myself, as a researcher, how do I work with children, how do I communicate with them and how do I submit them the tasks. Record my knowledge and learn from it. The theoretical part defines the individual stages for the preschool and pupils in terms of the development of psychology, they are constructive concepts of teaching mathematics with reference to the RVP ZV and RVP PV. Studied textbooks for the 1st and 2nd year of elementary school searched for activities from the environment of Parquet. Activities are selected that illustrate the typology of tasks. The relevant didactic games related to the Parquet environment are also described. For the practical part is chosen method of qualitative research on the basis of experiments in two research groups. The experiments are composed of individual activities, which are graded from the very basic creation of the parquet, specifying the rules of laying them down on the floor, to the final...

Didactic games in geography teaching
Matoušková, Barbora ; Matějček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Havelková, Lenka (referee)
This thesis deals with the use of didactic games in geography lessons in Czech schools. Its main goal is to use the questionnaire survey to find the so-called examples of good practice in schools. In the introduction there is a short literature search and definition of the term didactic game according to various authors. The main research method is an electronic questionnaire. A total of 72 faculty schools of the Faculty of Science of Charles University were addressed. Finally, 30 primary and secondary school teachers took part in the research. The questionnaire was divided into four parts. In the first part the general opinion of teachers on the concept of didactic game was investigated. The following section of questions was focused on teachers who use didactic games - the extent of games usage, in which topics of geography, as well as specific examples of games and their evaluation. The third section of the questions was intended for teachers who do not use games and found out the reasons that prevent them from using games. The last section of the questions deals with the sociodemographic characteristics of the research sample. The work contains analysis and interpretation of the questionnaire survey, including graphic outputs. The results were processed qualitatively and quantitatively...
Teaching Mendelian inheritance by didactic game
Lišková, Kateřina ; Janštová, Vanda (advisor) ; Mourek, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the education of genetics to grammar schools and students' comprehension of genetics. This abstract scientific discipline is considered difficult to learn so I decided to prepare educational materials with the aim to improve students' understanding of the topic. The main aim of the thesis was to prepare and test a didactic game focused on Mendelian inheritance and compare the effectivity of this kind of interactive education compared with the classical explanatory style of education. Other aims included evaluating the influence of other variables; comparing the difficulty of individual terms in genetics and the connection within chosen triplet of terms; and identifying the most common misconceptions. The data was collected in four classes of upper graders at two grammar schools by newly prepared questionnaire focused on demographic and knowledge. The results showed that the didactic game was as efficient as the classical explanatory method at creating short term knowledge Students had a bigger problem with explaining the connection among the terms than defining the individual terms. The most complicated term reported by the students was chromosome. It was the only term in which there wasn't any improvement between pre-test and post-test. Part of this thesis is also...
Activating teaching methods in teaching process of music education
Nováková, Marie ; Selčanová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Jiřičková, Jiřina (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with activating teaching methods and their application into a teaching process in music education. The theoretical part deals with specific methods; e.g. comics, pantomime, reflection, visualization of listening activities, live pictures, or didactic games. The choice of selected methods depends on the particular class sample in which the methods of music education were used. Besides that, it reflects the range of the thesis itself. The practical part focuses on the implementation of activating methods in the educational process. The research was realized at the first stage of elementary education, the classes and activating methods were chosen to cover all the grades. The age of middle childhood has typical features which are essential for the development of musical skill and abilities. The range of the first stage of elementary schools is beneficial for the full implementation of the methods into music lessons. The end of the thesis brings some examples of materials showing how to work with these methods in the music education process. The working sheets are meant for students of music education and other courses as a source of inspiration helping with cross-curricular cooperation.
