Renewal of the baroque rectory in Sebranice

This bachelor's thesis is aimed at the preparation of documentation for building permits and construction, based on previous architectural study for renewal of the baroque rectory in Sebranice. The projects is focused on the application of suitable methods of the reconstruction of a cultural monument along with the proposal of a new functional utilisation of the surrounding site. The design itself is characteristic by its careful and sensitive approach towards the listed building. However, it also pursues the present methods of site creation and adds a contrasting new structure to the environment, aiming to accommodate the modern standards of comfortable utilisation. The synthetic approach of the design is prominent in the effort to recover fragments of the original state of the building, as well as using present materials and colour schemes. The final outcome of the design respects the past of the landmark, adapts it to modern requirements and prepares it for its promising future.
Architectural drawing as starting point for the reconstruction of the project from approx 1700 AD: the Jesuit Church of Our Lady of the Snows in Olomouc

The Master´s thesis contains the methodology of the baroque church reconstruction from 17th and 18th centuries. An unmarked floor plan has been preserved from the original idea. The process of applying knowledge, professional literature, comparison, research in archives and personal inspection of similar buildings created a hypothetical model of the church with its complete documentation. In the process of reconstruction, a number of questions were answered. The result of the work is the design of a hypothetical church. At the same time, the author has acquired the principles and regularities of designing buildings in the baroque period with regard to their thinking, knowledge and technical possibilities at this period.
Pierre Corneille's dramaturgy in Médée

The study entitled : La Dramaturgie de Pierre Corneille dans Médée, is concerned with the issue of baroque and classicist aesthetics in Pierre Corneille's drama, Médée. The aim of the present thesis is to consider the nature of Corneille's version of Médée. And thus not only in the context of ancient and contemporary literary critique, but also in the framework of the influence of already mentioned aesthetics. Respecting this intention, the study is divided into following chapters : 1. Introduction, 2. Drama at the interface of two aesthetics, 3. Drama created to be seen an heard, 4. Among a countless number of rules. 5. Conclusion. In chapter 2, the present study sketches a brief draft of the seventeenth century dramatic production. Consecutively it deals with the issue of baroque aesthetics and presents the conceptualization of Jean Rousset, Bruce Morissette and Raymond Lebègue. The subject of the chapter 3, arising from Raymond Lebègue's conceptualization of baroque aesthetics, deals with the representation of both death and violence on stage. Lebegue's conception was applied to concerned passages in Médée - namely Creon's suicide, murder of Créuse, Médée's infanticide and the suicide of Jason. Composers in High Baroque Prague

The author analyses acting Czech and foreign composers of church, chamber and opera music in high baroque Prague and so continues in still basic work engaging Prague high baroque and classicism music culture: Hudební Praha v XVIII. věku by Otakar Kamper, Melantrich 1936. At first the author specifies Prague high baroque style, tries to create profile of this style and outlines Prague music high baroque culture. Currently he applies to rich Prague culture life. In major part he focuses on composers which formed in Prague (or 'for Prague') at a given era. In third part he compares Prague music scene a given era with Vienna's. In conclusion assesses importance of given composers for general culture picture of high baroque Prague and evaluated mentioned comparison. Overall, the author finds out that many composers were connected with Prague of the era, and appreciates the significant contribution of the monastic orders to this development. Abstract: The thesis treats the works of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin also known as Molière and their legacy in modern Czech theatre. It characterizes French society of the seventeenth century and the main features of contemporary philosophical and artistic styles, focusing on the dramatic creation of classicism. It also summarizes the life of Molière and his work, subdividing it according to generic, formal and thematic criteria. Within this frame, it gives a detailed analysis of the most important plays, representing the individual categories. It also studies the modern Czech theatrical stage. Focusing on the historical context, it explores the development of the stage from the end of the Second World War until nowadays. It gives a complex outline of Molière's plays presented during the different periods, evaluating the influence of cultural and historical context on the particular interpretation. This evaluation is based on the information presented in contemporary press and promotional materials of the given theatres and thus examines Molière's plays performed on Czech theatre stages in the present. The bachelor thesis deals with Michna's songbook Czech Marian Music from 1647. The main goal of the thesis is to describe Michna's life and work in the context of the creation of his first songbook. The insight into the musical structure of Czech Marian music will be completed with literary and language part. The literary analysis should not be overlooked, considering the fact that Adam Václav Michna z Otradovic was not only a musician but above all an excellent poet.
