Comparison of Various Film Adaptations of William Shakespeare's Hamlet

The aim of this thesis is to compare various film adaptations of William Shakespeare's Hamlet and to comment on the different style of their adaptation of the original play. A brief description of this Shakespeare masterpiece and of related films and their style followed by a depiction of particular characters and how the movies interpret them will lead to the comparison of the movies within individual motifs. Four film adaptations will be compared: the black-and-white version by Laurence Olivier (1948), Franco Zeffirelli's Hamlet starring Mel Gibson (1990), the four-hour Hamlet directed by Kenneth Branagh (1996) and modern version directed by Michael Almereyda (2000).
Experience of a vocational beginning as a psychologist in education

Submitted bachelor thesis follows the professional beginning experiences of psychologist in education. The aim of the study is to find and describe essentials influencing an entry of the beginning psychologist into education. A label "psychologist in education" includes school psychologists, psychologists working in an educational psychological consultancy or a special education center, according to this thesis. The theoretical part of our study is divided into five parts. We outline a developmental period of young adulthood according to Erikson, general and professional adaptation, coping, professional support forms (supervision, intervision, mentoring) and role of a psychologist in chosen types of institutions. Qualitative methodology is used in an empirical part. Semi-structured interviews were undertaken with 11 respondents from among beginning psychologists working in assigned types of educational consultancies. The interviews were analyzed by IPA methodology. The results are described in detail and afterwards discussed with available literature. In the conclusion, key points are summarized, which may ease the entry of beginning psychologist in education to employment. Exile as a creative process. Chapters from romanian exile literature in France.

Exile has always played a significant role in the history of the Romanian nation. On that account the Romanian literature written in exile after 1945 presents an important part of the history of Romanian literature as a whole. Due to its linguistic and cultural affinity France became one of the main host countries for Romanian exile writers. The introductive chapter is dedicated to description, classification and history of this phenomenon in Romanian context; furthermore, it deals with the position and reception of exile literature in Romania. According to their departure date in exile two generations of authors are presented: Mircea Eliade, Virgil Ierunca, Monica Lovinescu who left Romania in 1940s and Paul Goma, Bujor Nedelcovici, Dumitru Ţepeneag who decided to leave in France in 1970s and 1980s. The chosen works help us to get to know to the writers' creation and lives during the process of integration and, simultaneously, we get familiar with the communist Romania that became the main topics of the exile writers who are chosen as representatives of their exile generation. Through them the basic survey of this phenomenon in Romanian literature was drawn up.
An Impact of Reemigration on National Identity

Introduced diploma thesis presents the results of the research project which investigated the impact on the national identity. The goal of the research project was to find out with a help of the quality research, in detail an anchored theory, the central phenomenon in the perception of the national identity. The results of the anchored theory shows, that this phenomenon is level of adaptation of the individual on the environment respectively level of acculturation and flowingly level of reintegration. Intervene conditions, such as strategy of the handling of the stress situations, work success or family and friends' bounds also influence this phenomenon. Main context line in this direction presents emigration and re-emigration of the individual with all the possible causes and intervene conditions. Important part of the context line is the fact of the leaving of the individual itself, including his or hers preparation for leaving the country. This in its' nature determines even the process of acculturation of the individual in emigration with the impact on the perception of the national identity. Krakatit by Karel Čapek and Otakar Vávra

This thesis emphasize on the analysis of the Karel Čapek's novel "Krakatit" and its film adaptation directed by Otakar Vávra. The first part concentrates on some basic adaptation principals which comes from the relevant contemporary literature. In the next chapter the thesis focuses on problematics of the intermediary transcription and it highlights some issues of such adaptation (for example how to present an introspection). The theoretically oriented part of the thesis is completed by stating the difficulties with the evaluation of such adaptation from a diachronic point of view and by defining the elemental terms of the narrative theory (story, character, narrator). The practical part presents literary characteristics of the novel based on the appropriate literature. The next chapter is focused on the multi- genre characteristics and the story of the novel (according to the studies of Jan Mukařovský and Eva Strohsová). The analysis of the character focuses on the lead role and works with different motives, such as childhood, mystery and unknown. It also includes the list of relevant figures of speech and the role of the narrator in Krakatit. Child adaptation in an international school

The goal of this work is to map an adaptation process, which children have to go through when coming to a foreign school in terms of different instructional language, curriculum and particularly sociocultural enviroment. The work is focused on a group of factors which influence the adaptation, e.g. child age, family role, community role, cultural differencies and support techniques used by schools to make the transition process for children smoother. The work also describes the cases when children have to face the adaptation process multiple times because of repeated moving to new countries and therefore repeated school changing. This trend is caused by migration and globalization and and is connected especially with international schools, which consider the successful adaptation process of its students as a key assumption for students' future success. The work also shows situation of bilingual children in terms of adaptation to a new school enviroment and specific problems of children who have never lived in their own culture or culture of their parents ("Third Culture Kid Theory"). One part of this work is a research held in American International School of Budapest which consists of 3 case studies of foreign students.
Adaptation of Senior to Placement in a Home for the Eldery

The topic of the bachelor thesis is an adaptation of seniors to location in a home for the elderly with the help of a key worker. The thesis deals with the many terms related to this issue. It mentions the concepts of aging, age, gerontology, adaptation, social services for the elderly and many others. It talks about reasons for entering into a home for the elderly. It explains who is a candidate, applicant and user of social services. It presents the possibilities of adaptation to the elderly home which the seniors have and describes the individual planning with key worker. The thesis also mentions the Home for the elderly Eliška Purkyňová, which has a seat in Prague 6. It describes its mission, target group, registered services and the whole procedure process from candidates to the users of services. The aim of this thesis is to find out the degree of importance of senior's preparation before entering the home for the elderly to the adaptation phase. Primary School Head Teacher and His Professional Role Adaptation Process

The current thesis deals with proces od adaptation of headmasters in its working position. In the theoretical part is focused on the presentation of the school as a system, the specifics of education system and its management, the actual work of heads of schools and the process of adaptation of headmasters. In the practical part I focused on the beginning of the headmasters career, and the process of adaptation of the headmasters on the professional role. I was looking for phenomena that are typical start headmaster career, how they affect the process of adaptation but also the rest of the headmaster career. To obtain the necessary data, I chose a qualitative research, namely the form of interviews that I conducted with ten directors of elementary schools in Praha and in Kraj Vysočina.
