Semantic annotations
Dědek, Jan ; Vojtáš, Peter (advisor) ; Maynard, Diana (referee) ; Železný, Filip (referee)
Four relatively separate topics are presented in the thesis. Each topic represents one particular aspect of the Information Extraction discipline. The first two topics are focused on our information extraction methods based on deep language parsing. The first topic relates to how deep language parsing was used in our extraction method in combination with manually designed extraction rules. The second topic deals with a method for automated induction of extraction rules using Inductive Logic Programming. The third topic of the thesis combines information extraction with rule based reasoning. The core of our extraction method was experimentally reimplemented using semantic web technologies, which allows saving the extraction rules in so called shareable extraction ontologies that are not dependent on the original extraction tool. The last topic of the thesis deals with document classification and fuzzy logic. We are investigating the possibility of using information obtained by information extraction techniques to document classification. Our implementation of so called Fuzzy ILP Classifier was experimentally used for the purpose of document classification.
Problem of Catalog Objectives in digital Environment
Drobíková, Barbora ; Papík, Richard (advisor) ; Souček, Jiří (referee) ; Planková, Jindra (referee)
Problem of catalog objectives in digital environment: development and trends in building library catalogs from the bibliographic point of view PhDr. Barbora Drobíková Abstract The aim of the thesis is to explore current trends in building library catalogs from the bibliographic point of view. It focuses on formulation and exploration of trends in bibliography which may influence the library catalogs in near future. The introductory part defines several basic terms. It deals with the catalog objectives and methodological and technological questions in brief. Larger chapters describe the conceptual models FRBR, FRAD and FRSAD and studies which bring these models. These studies show a new view on objectives of bibliographic and authority records, therefore on library catalogs objectives too. This part is closed by an own analysis of these models, their comparison with the object-oriented model FRBRoo including a proposal of FRAD's and FRSAD's implementation into an object-oriented form. Next chapters focus on the relation of bibliography and semantic web and especially on questions connected with a change of bibliographic paradigma and paradigma of the bibliographic control which are to occur with new semantic web technologies. The semantic web can enable new contexts of using of bibliographic data and...
Semantic web in confrontation with Peirce's Semiotics
Řeháčková, Dana ; Pudlák, Štěpán (advisor) ; Švantner, Martin (referee)
The Semantic web was created for a purpose of conceptualization data available on the Internet. Through formalized representations, that are determined for data sharing and reusing, should have been its vision realized. Main aims of Semantic web are high exactness and relevance for searching question. The controversy and polysemy of the term "Semantic web" let us consider the question: "Where is the limit of involving semantic aspects provided on Semantic web?" Is it not only the amount of determinations of specific standards that are connected with data itself? The main aim of this thesis is the comparison of using terms on the Semantic web in semantic metadiscourse with traditional academic semiotics approaches appeared from pragmatic of Ch. S. Peirce, Ch. W. Morris and H. P. Grice. The thesis should help with mapping the problematic area that is connected with using terms like "meaning" and "understanding" and clarify the possibilities of the function of the Semantic web based on the semiotics conceptions.
RDF Repository in PHP
Raška, Jiří ; Chmelař, Petr (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
This Bachelor Thesis describes a problem of design and implementation a RDF repository in PHP. This thesis solves storing data model RDF in relational database and solves implementation of subset query language SPARQL. Part of this thesis are performance and functional tests with implemented RDF repository.
WordNet Database User Interface Innovation
Kopřiva, Adam ; Jaša, Petr (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
This thesis considers innovations of graphical user interface for JWord 3.0. It's a program, which works with electronic lexical database of English - WordNet. The words in this database aren't sorted in the alphabetical order like in usual dictionaries, but they are grouped to synonymic groups. These groups are then connected with different semantic relations. During the implementation design I have focused mainly on the speed of searching for informations about the entered word. This lead to the change of searching engine from searching in files to querying database. The resulting program is composed of two parts - program and graphical user interface. Program interface works with MySQL WordNet 3.0 database. User interface then shows meanings of the entered word and relations to other words (synonyms, antonyms, hyponyms, hypernyms).
Visual Design of Ontologies for Semantic Web
Social Network with Elements of Semantic Web
Jedličková, Jana ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Lukáš, Roman (advisor)
This thesis concerns Internet social network and trends in evolution of Semantic Web. It describes development of a web application - community portal, built on PHP. Application contains modules providing machine readable presentation of organizations profiles and events and is connected to Google Maps web mapping service.
Semantic Web in Content Management Systems
Vrána, Michal ; Kolář, Dušan (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
This masters thesis deals with the Semantic Web, its link to existing Web and the technologies, that produce it. It also deals with its current use in practice, further examines the deployment in web content management systems and proposes semantic extensions for the Kentico CMS.
Distributed Information System Based on Semantic Technology
Havlena, Jan ; Bartík, Vladimír (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the design of a distributed information system, where the data distribution is based on semantic technologies. The project analyzes the semantic web technologies with the focus on information exchange between information systems and the related terms, mainly ontologies, ontology languages and the Resource description framework. Furthermore, there is described a proposal an ontology which is used to describe the data exchanged between the systems and the technologies used to implement distributed information system. The most important of them are Java Server Faces and Sesame.
Ontology and Semantic Web
Stuchlík, Radek ; Hruška, Tomáš (referee) ; Očenášek, Pavel (advisor)
The purpose of the master's thesis "Ontology and Semantic Web" is to give a description of general principles of ontologies, which are closely associated with so-called new generation of web: semantic web. The thesis is conceived as tutorial and it is focused on both theoretical basics and practical examples of the use of technologies developed recently. The aim of this tutorial is to present main ideas of semantic web, technologies and data formats, which should provide its implementation into standard practice.
