Drábek, Josef ; Rosický, Antonín (advisor) ; Heller, Petr (referee)
The Main focus of the work it is DSS, influence of information and knowledge to the system and development of information technology. In successive steps, it's introducing us with types and models in use. Also it targets tools and techniques, which are used for obtaining and saving information and knowledge. New knowledge creating shows ability of organization learning, by support knowledge management. At the end it evaluates development possibilities and restrictions of decision support system and it shows shortcomings across to human being.

Investing of hedge funds using price volatility of investment instruments
Přibáň, Filip ; Brada, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kováč, Michal (referee)
Volatility of value of assets and revenues is one of the most important factors, which influence current financial markets. Its increase in recent decades is a big risk for financial markets and real economy. But volatility is not just a thread, it is also an opportunity to make profits. It makes sense, that financial instruments that make profits from increase or decrease of volatility on financial markets are very popular nowadays. Because of this in last years investment banks issued a lot of derivatives that make profits from significant changes of value of assets and revenues. Hedge funds want to make profits from volatility as well so they offer their clients funds with sofisticated strategies and different investment attitudes. These strategies and economical models that analyze volatility are very important for us to understand how this phenomenon works. This is not crucial only for traders or portfolio managers, but for macroeconomists as well. Significant movements on currency, stock or bond markets can influence real economy rapidly.

Specific techniques of individual coaching
Ženatý, Jan ; Bahbouh, Radvan (advisor) ; Kirovová, Iva (referee)
Thesis focuses the topic of individual change and discusses possibilities of its support in terms of psychological (self)coaching. The theoretical part summarizes key psychological traits, which may affect the success of change implementation, than provides insight into the various phases, stages and processes of both individual and organizational change. Attention is then moved to the issue of individual change goals setting and there are shown several models of goals formulation. Next chapter introduces psychological coaching as a suitable approach to the facilitation of individual change and describes specific techniques and strategies that support individuals achieving goals. Particular attention is also paid to the strategy of small steps or quick wins, also known as Kaizen, as well as the other mentioned techniques and tools that can be used in (self)coachning and selfmanagement. The research verifies the effect of Kaizen strategy on individual goals achievement. Results confirm the positive impact of Kaizen on individual success in goal achieving, but also the degrese of precieved satisfaction derived from working on goals.

Investment strategies
Kučera, Libor ; Hurt, Jan (advisor) ; Zichová, Jitka (referee)
In this thesis we study interest rates and we introduce short rates models. Then we study interest rate dependent financial assets. Next we introduce duration and duration of portfolio of bonds. In the next part we focus on fundamental analysis. We mention its basic parts and we introduce tools used in fundamental analysis. In the last part we focus on technical analysis. We start with chart formations and then we describe indicators. We show application of indicators on data from real market.

Tragedy of the Commons
Pospíšilová, Andrea ; Schwarz, Jiří (referee) ; Gregor, Martin (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the situation known as the Tragedy of the Commons, in which conicting individual and group interests result in overappropriation of a common- pool resource. It examines the setting focusing on theoretical models, combining the approaches of game theory and maximization. It analyzes the e_ects of dif- ferent aspects of the situation, such as game structure, game payoffs, repetitions and individual and group characteristics, first in the setting where no interactions among players are possible, and then in the situation in which players are allowed to communicate and decide on some kind of management of the resource. In accord with many recent studies, this thesis shows that state management of a resource is not the only solution to the dilemma. Moreover, when interactions among players are allowed, users may be able to design their own rules, thus avoiding the `tragic' outcome. Communication and the ability to design sanctioning mechanism is shown to have a major impact on the success of these self-management rules.

Základní principy v modelování dopravních toků
Šimáně, Čestmír ; Fábry, Jan (advisor) ; Kořenář, Václav (referee)
Research workers started to investigate traffic flows already in thirtieth years of twentieth century. But it is true that in these times was minimal the number of vehicles on roads. However, at the end of fifties this number started to increase. So according to this it was necessary to find sophistry tools to their monitoring. More engineers interested in the theory of traffic flow and they started to describe interactions between vehicles through new theories and models. Nowadays, this work continues, because the number of vehicles on roads is still increasing. The aim of this thesis is to make reader understood the basic terms, quantities, approaches and models in theory of traffic flow.

Analysis of the economic efficiency of the company TRW Volant Inc.
Chlebečková, Eva ; Doláková, Helena (advisor) ; Čapková, Tereza (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with evaluation of the economic situation of the company TRW Volant Inc. in the years 2003 -- 2007 and assessment of its financial health by analysing the chosen economic indicators. There are shortly described the individual phases of financial analysis as a basic instrument of the economic analysis in the theoretical part and there are also explained some basic terms. The practical part is focused on further identification of the company and the branch where it operates in, and also on aplication of theoretical analyses by means of mathematic calculation and graphic comparison. For the analysis purposes I used f.e. ratio indexes from the sphere of profitability, liquidity, structure of capital, activity and capital market, value index EVA, chosen bankruptcy and financial standing models, Du Pont's pyramidal decomposition etc. One of the component parts is also comparison of the analysed company with an average of the branch.

Models and tools for validation of biodiversity in the Dřevnice catchment
Cudlín, Ondřej ; Pechanec, V. ; Štěrbová, L. ; Cudlín, Pavel
We use several GIS tools to assess and predict the changes in biodiversity in the Dřevnice catchment. First,\nwe created GIS layer, consisted of natural and near to nature habitats (system Natura 2000) and Corine\nLand Cover for more anthropically influenced habitats. The Land Change Modeller was used to predict the\ndevelopment of land cover on the basis of comparison of data in several historical periods. To determine\nthe areas with high threat to biodiversity we created firstly another GIS layer of habitats with low\nnaturalness. Afterwards we used the model GLOBIO 3, which works with five basic driving forces (habitat\nnaturalness, infrastructure presence, distance from communications, nitrogen pollution load and\nmodelled climatic change parameters). GLOBIO 3 uses for each layer the MSA indicator (mean species\nabundance per area), which reflects the worldwide threat to selected endangered species. With regard to\nthe conditions of the Czech Republic and non‐availability of the nationwide database of finding data on\nprotected plant and animals, we should change this indicator for MHV (mean habitat value per area). Last\nGIS layer enables us to select up to now unprotected areas with a high value of biodiversity and naturalness of habitats for environmentally friendly agriculture and forestry management by model Marxan. The model combines the existing categories of natural reserves, biodiversity values (expressed in CZK according to Biotope Valuation Method) and the penalty for any nature degradation due to inadequate protection, abundance and distribution of species of interest (in this case the valuable and\npreserved habitats). Simultaneously it aims for a spatial compactness of design. The output is a layeridentifying the refugia for preservation and spreading of wild plants and animals to the cultural landscape,\nespecially with regard to climate change.
