Evaluation of the face asymmetry of Czech adult population: 3D study
Procházková, Lenka ; Velemínská, Jana (advisor) ; Pivoňková, Věra (referee)
Facial asymmetry is an individual characteristic connected to health, physical attraction and beauty. Researches concerning asymmetry is very beneficial for dentofacial surgery (especially for planning and evaluating operations), for forensic science (person identification), bioarcheology (monitoring stress effects on the evolution of bilateral traits) and sociocultural antropology (the study of attractiveness). The focus of our thesis lies in monitoring directional and fluctuating face asymmetry, comparing males and females with regard to gender dimorphism. We analysed 143 3D face models among the adult population (58 males with average age 22,6 and 85 females with average age 21,6) and scanned them with InSpeck 3D Mega Capturator II. Then we used the RapidForm software to brush, edit and localize the basic landmarks. The face asymmetry was evaluated through classic morphometry and geometric morphometry. The whole face surface was analysed with Rapidform and Morphome3cs software. In our group of test subjects (in man as well as women), fluctuating asymmetry was found more often than directional asymmetry. Directional asymmetry, among women test subjects, was found in 42,86% cases, among men test subjects it was in 28,57% cases, in which was more oriented to the left side. The right eye area was...

French Cultural Policy Model: French Axception?
Proftová, Veronika ; Perottino, Michel (advisor) ; Tomalová, Eliška (referee)
The diploma thesis topic is the analysis of the French cultural policy model. It deals with the relation between state and culture, while asking a question if and what for is the French model exceptional. Although the history of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs dates only back to 1959, state intervention in the culture field has deep roots. In the continuation of the monarchy, the traditionally centralized state has kept an important role of patronage, protection and control. By linking together education and culture, the state devoted plenty of regulations to the latter, and favoured setting up of numerous organizations and institutions. The first public policy in the culture field was born in 1959 when the ministry entrusted to André Malraux was founded. This minister was giving direction to the French cultural policy for ten years. The 1970s were under the sign of ministerial instability. Despite a relative brevity of his term of office (1971 - 1973), Jacques Duhamel succeeded in giving the ministry a political course whose continuity was to be pursued until 1981. In 1981 Jack Lang was appointed as minister, whose ten years stay in office was marked by continuing and carrying out the policies of André Malraux and Jacques Duhamel, in spite of a noticeable change in his vocabulary and style. Since the...

The comparison of the Croatian and Serbian translations of the Czech and foreign literature
Janouškovcová, Eva ; Vlainić, Sandra (referee) ; Jirásek, Karel (advisor)
The thesis is dedicated to the comparison of the Croatian and Serbian belletristic language and its main aim is to show their contemporary status. The theoretical part of the thesis also contains the Serbo-Croatian issue including the historic discursus, the analysis of its break up causes and the self-regard standard language comparison in the particular surroundings. The thesis confronts the conclusions, which concern the correspondences and differences between the Croatian and Serbian standard language, with the language of the concrete prose texts. The analysed sample are texts that are included with the Czech, Croatian and Serbian versions of the parallel corpus INTERCORP. It can answer for an appropriate instrument to compare close languages which largely coincide with each other, and many differences between them consist rather in the frequency than existence or every single language phenomenon admissibility. However, an objective comparison of such close languages is difficult in another way for, concerning the high mutual understanding rate, the direct translations between them are not very common. The thesis summarises the examination of qualitative and quantitative differences between the language of the Croatian and Serbian texts and it seeks to impartially assess and compare the current...
