The promise of wealth and the meaning of politics (Hannah Arendt on politics and economics)
Ujfaluši, Robin ; Kohák, Erazim (referee) ; Kouba, Pavel (advisor)
This paper focuses on the topic which is not so often reflected - the relation between the political and economical sphere in the thought of Hannah Arendt. This relation is usually considered to be unambiguous, as in the old Greek political thought: the political belongs to the sphere of freedom, the economical, on the contrary, to the sphere of material providing or necessity, and thus there is a substantial, invincible gap between them. The main thesis of this paper is, that the relation between the political and the economical is by no means assessable to the ancient tradition, but it is strongly determined by the general reflection of the civilization tendencies in the modern age and keeps its validity til nowadays. We follow this thesis in two phases and from two different perspectives. In the first part, Arendt's thought is being interpreted "from inside". Through the analysis of her writings, we try to sum up the main characteristics and distinctions of her economical-political thought. We start with the often neglected and never finished, but important work What is politics and continue with three historical moments, which are crucial for understanding of this relation by Arendt: the old Greek political thinking, the modern age with Marx as its prominent thinker and american Fathers as founders of...

Ernst Cassirer and ethnolinguistics
Pokorný, Jan ; Vrhel, František (advisor) ; Korecká, Zuzana (referee)
Ernst Cassirer dealt the linguistic form to make his point and document the thesis of his culture philosophy. In addition to the common philosophic idealism working on the I. Kant's philosophy, first of all it was the idea of the cultural heterogenity, its purpose and common trend of its development. His ideas concerning the relation of mind and symbolic forms can be compared with the modern lines of the cognitive science, first of all connectionism and enactivism. The language according to Ernst Cassirer has got other fonction than the other cultural forms and these functions influence its form. The language according to Cassier does not present a copy of the reality but it includes a specific way of the conceptualisation for which is typical greater concretedness unlike other cultural forms. On this basis Cassirer creates evolutionary succession of linguistic phenomenons that supposes lower position of the non- European languages. Although some similar attempts can be traced nowadays, it is not possible to accept Cassirer's linguistic evolutionism or another one. The features of primitivism and forwardness cannot be generalized for any division of primitive and forward languages and the forwardness criterions used by Cassirer do not fit. Cassirer's idea of the linguistic development approximately...

Map Information System
Doležal, Zdeněk ; Skopal, Tomáš (referee) ; Kopecký, Michal (advisor)
This work describes design and implementation of a system for on-line displaying multileveled maps in the modern web browsers. The system supports operation with multilayer maps, smooth moving of the map with variable count of the map levels in different areas, searching for routes as well as points of interest and their showing in the map. It is supposed that there will be several client applications running on the system with their own user interfaces. These applications can modify the standard functions of the system which ensures their independency and scalability.

Pain Centers
Holoubková, Jana ; Chloubová, Helena (advisor) ; Jurásková, Dana (referee)
This work lays the aim to map the spredding of the Pain Centers, to find out their main function and describe modern methodes of the chronical pain cure in each region of Czech Republic. The theoretical part shows the question of the pain, its classification and physiology. This part continues by aiming to the chronical and general ache, to the methods of the pain therapy and at last but not least to Pain Centers. The development part compares each Pain Centers in few points of wiew in which the main role have the departments, the medical nurses who work here and the clients who visit these centers. A very important part is the comparing of the used curing methods which lead to a calming or killing of the chronical ache.

Modern computational techniques for simulations of molecular spectra
Ivani, Ivan ; Baumruk, Vladimír (advisor) ; Kapitán, Josef (referee)
Accurate computations of vibrational energies and vibrational spectra of molecules require an inclusion of the anharmonic forces. In standard computational protocols, a large vibrational Hamiltonian matrix is diagonalized, and spectral intensities are calculated for individual transitions separately. In this work we propose an alternate direct generation of the spectral curves based on a temporal propagation of a trial vibrational wavefunction followed by a Fourier transformation. The lack of the lengthy and computer-memory demanding diagonalization makes the method suitable for larger molecules. It is especially convenient for sparse Hamiltonians that are commonly obtained within the harmonic oscillator basis set, and the algorithm is amendable to parallelization. On a model water dimer basic convergence properties are discussed. The method is then applied to vibrational Raman intensities of the fenchone compound, were it provides spectral shapes comparable with those obtained by the classical approaches.

Positions of the Prime Minister in Great Britain, Germany and the Czech Republic
Vašíčková, Lenka ; Lebeda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Strahalová, Šárka (referee)
The bachelor thesis positions o f the Prime Minister in Great Britain, Germany and the Czech Republic" compares the positions of three prime ministers of three different European parliamentary democracies. It is divided into two chapters - the first one deals with theory and the second one describes how the theory works in practice. It gis based on the opinions of a well-known political scientist Giovanni Sartori who has made his own theory of three different positions of a prime minister in government. According to this theory I have chosen the position of the British prime minister, who is the most powerful, the German chancellor, who is less powerful and the Czech premier, whose position is the weakest. To explain the differences I also compare partial systems, electoral systems and the state system. In the second chapter I analyse Great Britain, Germany and the Czech Republic in the light of their modern history so I use similar periods of time, mainly the 1990's. Talking about Great Britain I have chosen the era of governance of Conservative Party leading by Margaret Thatcher and John Major and then the era of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown's New Labour. Regarding Germany I was interested in Helmut Kohl's governance since 1990 and also in Helmut Schroder's and Angela Merkel's chancellorship,...

Changes in the function of the public space: Venceslas square
Kubecová, Barbora ; Pullmann, Michal (referee) ; Klusáková, Luďa (advisor)
My bachelor thesis has been focused on analysis of functional changes of a square as a public space. Squares in medieval cities used to serve particularly as market places; however, they also were places of gathering and places where the most important secular and religious institutions used to be placed. In big cities more squares were necessary to ensure certain operation, the function of which was not identical. In modern days the function of public places has changed even more. I have concentrated on one example of one Prague square that has always dominated among the others not only thanks to its size but especially its numerous social functions. I have become familiar with Kevin Lynch's theory on creating a picture of a city, where public places and namely squares are given a specific role. I have presented a basic review of Wenceslas Square development from its foundation until today, and have presented its functions, building development, function as a memory place, centre of business and social life. I have assessed its importance in comparison with other Prague squares and have concentrated on artistic and social and cultural points of view. I especially pointed out its development on the break of 19th and 20th centuries, where the medieval market place was turned into a modern avenue by which a...

Modern family in relation to gender issues in lessons of educational area Man and his World
Vaňková, Zuzana ; Rychlíková, Marie (referee) ; Stará, Jana (advisor)
This thesi s analyses a modem family in relation with gender issues in r: ... '.:4esson. The theoretical part, based on current literature, traces the changes in family lives developed in recent years. It focuses on family functions and roles from the gender point of view. It describes how the topic is covered in The Framework Educational Programme for Elementary Education, as well as the way the contemporary teaching materials and school in general reflects the gender and various forms of family constellations. By means of question forms and interviews in the practical part it studies teachers' attitudes on this topic and it compares them with each other.
