Analysis of impact of the credit derivatives market on current financial crisis and capital adequacy of the american banking holdings
Baigarin, Nadir ; Musílek, Petr (advisor) ; Revenda, Zbyněk (referee) ; Sosík, Petr (referee)
This dissertation analyzes key features of credit derivatives market, basic risks of the products and trends the market has experienced for several years since its inception, discusses regulatory issues of the market with regard to the Basel II treatment and key reasons for investors using credit derivatives. Dissertation also examines whether and how credit derivatives affected current financial turmoil, analyzes credit derivatives losses of selected institutions on the financial markets and compares them with total losses of these institutions. The main result of the work is that there was no substantial effect of the credit derivatives market on the current financial crisis. Dissertation also examines whether there is any connection between U.S. banks credit derivatives trades and their capital adequacy ratio. According to the analysis, there is no evidence for credit derivatives to essentially affect capital adequacy ratio of U.S. banks. A potential explanation for the higher values of U.S. banks' capital adequacy ratio may be that there are sophisticated risk management strategies banks have been implicating for many years.

Non-projectivity in English and Czech
Čermáková, Kristýna ; Hajičová, Eva (advisor) ; Malá, Markéta (referee)
This thesis analyzes non-projective constructions in English and Czech. It is based on the functional generative description of language and the analysis of material drawn from the Prague Czech-English Dependency Treebank, the Prague Dependency Treebank, and the British National Corpus. The theoretical part provides a brief characterization of phrase structure grammar and dependency grammar together with the definition of the fundamentals of the functional generative description, and the definition of non-projectivity. The analytical section presents a detailed comparative classification of non-projective structures in both languages. Individual types are studied from the perspective of differences between the surface structure and the underlying structure, demonstrating how the substitution of a non-projective clause for a projective one influences the topic-focus articulation and the meaning of the clause. The main objective is to define factors motivating non-projectivity in English and Czech, to compare them, and to determine whether it is marked or neutral type of discontinuity that prevails in each of the two languages.

Marková L.: Biologically active metabolite sof plants 4. Alkaloids from Zanthoxylum nitidum and their biological activity. Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Pharmaceutical Botany and Ecology, Hradec Králové, 2012. Diploma thesis, 67 s. The aim of the diploma thesis was to process the dried drug of Zanthoxylum nitidum and to obtain the total extract. By means of preparative thin layer chromatogramy one alkaloid was isolated and based on structural analysis (NMR, MS) and comparison of data from the literature identified as (-)-edulinine. This alkaloid was tested for its inhibitory activity against human erytrocyte acetylcholinesterase activity (HuAChE) and human plasma butyrylcholiesterase (HuBuChE). The measured values for (-)-edulinine were IC50 HuAChE > 1000 µM a IC50 HuBuChE > 1000 µM. Galanthamin (IC50, HuAChE = 1,710 ± 0,065µM, IC50 HuBuChE = 42,30 ± 1,30 µM) and huperzin A (IC50, HuAChE = 0,033 ± 0,001µM, IC50 HuBuChE = >1000 µM) were used as positive standarts which are used in therapy of Alzheimer's disease. In comparison of standarts (-)-edulinine was inactive and it can't be considered as perspective substance in treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The alkaloid was also subjected to study of its antioxidant activity. The resulting EC50 value...

1973 - 1982 DRAK Theatre and origins of the social emancipation in Czech puppet theatre (The best performances of Josef Krofta)
Kotisová, Sandra ; Pavlovský, Petr (advisor) ; Just, Vladimír (referee)
This diploma thesis remarks on the beginning of the equality of rights and the complete social recognition of the puppetry in Czech theatres in the years 1973 - 1982. The thesis deals with the history of the East Bohemian theatre DRAK in Hradec Kralove from its foundation, it describes the arrival of the director Josef Krofta, Prague's performances of DRAK in 1977, the first tours abroad, it observes DRAK in the context of totality, it outlines Krofta's directorial principles and the perspective of the DRAK's Theatre poetics within a decade. Significant attention is dedicated to the reconstruction of the top chosen period plays from the DRAK Theatre, directed by Josef Krofta, because these plays reflect the best the emancipation of the Czech puppet theatre.

Odhady algebraické chyby a zastavovací kritéria v numerickém řešení parciálních diferenciálních rovnic
Papež, Jan ; Strakoš, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Vlasák, Miloslav (referee)
Title: Estimation of the algebraic error and stopping criteria in numerical solution of partial differential equations Author: Jan Papež Department: Department of Numerical Mathematics Supervisor of the master thesis: Zdeněk Strakoš Abstract: After introduction of the model problem and its properties we describe the Conjugate Gradient Method (CG). We present the estimates of the energy norm of the error and a heuristic for the adaptive refinement of the estimate. The difference in the local behaviour of the discretization and the algebraic error is illustrated by numerical experiments using the given model problem. A posteriori estimates for the discretization and the total error that take into account the inexact solution of the algebraic system are then discussed. In order to get a useful perspective, we briefly recall the multigrid method. Then the Cascadic Conjugate Gradient Method of Deuflhard (CCG) is presented. Using the estimates for the error presented in the preceding parts of the thesis, the new stopping criteria for CCG are proposed. The CCG method with the new stopping criteria is then tested. Keywords: numerical PDE, discretization error, algebraic error, error es- timates, locality of the error, adaptivity

Metzov the Expression of the Dangerous Memory and its Applicaion on The History of Hidden Church in Slovakia
Murín, Jozef ; Noble, Ivana (advisor) ; Hanuš, Jiří (referee)
This Bachelor's thesis introduces the work of the German Catholic theologian Johann Baptist Metz, especially his notion of dangerous memory, and the history of the Catholic underground church in Slovakia during the Second World War, the communist regime and after the Velvet revolution of 1989. From the perspective of Metz's theology and his notion of dangerous memory, it tries to interpret the history of the underground church as a dangerous memory for the Slovak society and for the Catholic Church itself. The appendix contains several interviews with secretly ordained priests and underground church activists, as well as a sample of original documents of the state secret police. Alimony - what guides judge's consideration?
Trličíková, Michala ; Pavlík, Petr (advisor) ; Havelková, Barbara (referee)
One-parent families with minor children belong to households which are the most threatened by poverty. Most of these households are headed by women who must act as both caretaker and breadwinner. Part of the total cost associated with raising children is covered by alimony, but its amount is often inadequately low or not paid at all. Conditions for female sole wage earners are made even worse by their disadvantageous labor market position. As a consequence, a feminization of poverty occurs, and alimony can become a contributing element to reproducing inequalities between women and men. Alimony obligation is vaguely defined by the law, so the judge's consideration plays a main role in determining the amount of alimony. With this in mind, research interviews with judges were focused on views and procedures they make use of when judging. The analysis indicated a great divergence in their decision-making caused by insufficient unifying judicature. However, this lack of unity and its consequences was not adequately reflected by many judges in that they were satisfied with the present system and resisted proposed reforms. The neglect of a broader context of alimony and the adoption of fathers' or the state's perspective in preference to the one of women and children, whose interests judges declare to particularly...

This thesis presents the problem of relapse of drug addictions. The relapse is presented as a possible constituent of the treatment of a drug addiction. It is the moment when client uses a drug once or repeatendly during a short time after the particular time of total abstinence. The thesis examines a process of aftercare which engages in relapse prevention. The most important topic is also a cooperation with client's family because of relapse prevention and as a kind of therapy for them in case of relapse their addicted relative. My thesis presents the relapse as a something natural. It doesn't have to be definitive and a client can make a instruction of it and continue in his abstinence successfully.
