Voices of Native American women: the life narratives of Sarah Winnemucca, Zitkala-Sa, Maria Campbell and Leslie Marmon Silko

The aim of this thesis is to explore the genre of Native American women autobiography by concentrating on its four significant representatives. In the opening part, the work presents the genre providing its several definitions and tracing its origins. Further, it briefly summarizes the history of autobiography with a special focus on American literature and it introduces the genre of Native American autobiography and explains its particularities. Because the work deals with Native American women, the beginning also discusses their past and present social position and their first literary VOICeS. The central part of the thesis investigates four distinct autobiographical narratives written by Native American women at different times and it surveys the main themes that dominate the genre ofNative American woman autobiography. Although all discussed books are labeled as the autobiographies, they m1x together a number of various areas and genres such as history, sociology, mythology, ethnography, political documents, and many others. Native American oral storytelling forms the fundamental base in the analyzed texts, but it is the most experimental autobiography of Leslie Marmon Silko that is wholly constructed as the process of storytelling when her stories carry formal characteristics of Indian oral tales such...

Financial market and the prospects of its development

This Diploma Thesis deals with financial market in the Czech Republic and selected prospects of its future development. The author concentrates his analyses on following four areas: 1. Missing Central Securities Depository, 2. Act on Supervision on the Financial Market, 3. Introduction of Euro in the Czech Republic, and 4. Establishment of a Financial Ombudsman. The structure of the thesis is divided into two parts. The first part provides a brief description of the financial market, instruments of the financial market and subjects of the financial market. The second part analyses future prospects of the financial market in the Czech Republic as detailed above. There are three appendices attached: no. 1: Chart detailing position of SCP (Prague Securities Centre) on the capital market, no. 2: Indicative timetable of Czech Republic joining the Euro and no.3: List of questions for public discussion regarding Act on Supervision on the Financial Market. Foreign trade of the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1918-1938. Its strenghts and weaknesses sites

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the foreign trade of the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1918-1938. Particulary Czechoslovak trade policy analysation and characterizations its individual fases. Next, the thesis makes on observation on the structure of foreign trade, the share size of import and export of each product (according to Brusel's nomenclature) and compares this data with other European countries. Furthermore this thesis concentrates on the most significant trade partners of the Czechoslovak Republic. Why did not major Czechoslovak partners become the eastern democracies and what problems did the little agreement's countries bring? This thesis analyzes also the problematic of the competitive ability of the Czechoslovak products on the foreign market.

Location Behaviour of Companies in Banking Sector

The main aim of this thesis is to find regularities and patterns of banking branches distribution in particular regions. In the first part of the work there is a detailed overview of location behaviour of the selected banks in the Czech regions and districts. The second part represents simple process of finding ideal location for future bank branches establishing. This process is also applied to case studies, which are part of this thesis as well. The results show that geographical distribution of selected banks corresponds to the urban system of the Czech Republic. The capital city of Prague proved to be exceptional considering urban structure of the Czech republic. The analysis shows quite high differences in bank branches distribution in Czech districts. Very high concentration in relation to number of inhabitants was recorded in border districts of Plzeňský region and Jihočeský region. On the other hand, Most district and Ústí nad Labem district still offer high potential for bank branches expansion. We can expect continuing of bank branches expansion, because branches still have irreplaceable position regarding bank operations and creating new bank accounts.

It tryes to find out the problems existing here. The analysis especially solves the evaluation of the training process. The work involves the recommendations leading to improve the training program in the future.

This diploma thesis focuses on key questions of bookkeeping, presenting financial data and reporting of selected accounting transactions of tangible and intangible fixed assets in line with IFRS x CAS requirements and in context with requirements on information systems within selected international company. The whole thesis gives a fair picture of relevant processes, related procedures and principles used in the particular company as well as accounting and representation of the data in financial statements addressed to parent company. In addition to the fixed assets acquisition process, the thesis further concentrates on interpretation of accounting for and reporting of assets held for sale and disposal of fixed assets.

Stock exchange in the Czech Republic : entry conditions

The bachelor thesis concentrate on evaluation of conditions for using common stock financing. We explain motivation for using diffent kind of financing methods from corporate finance and corporate governance point of view and put emphasis on relationship between debt and equity financing. We evaluate influences of stock market development, institutional framework and entry procedure problems. We come to conclusion that effects, which formerly caused prevalence of debt financing and obstructed effective stock market functioning, are developing in favour of common stock financing. The analysis of customs procedures in the EU with the focus on transit

The thesis responds to the changes in customs procedures which Czech companies had to face after the Czech republic was joined to the customs territory of the EU. The first part of the thesis provides the basic characteristic of individual customs procedures and it is focused on the area of customs operations. The following sections concentrate on the issue of "transit" customs procedure. The scope of the thesis is a general approach of the realisation of international transport in transit. It demonstrates the most important changes which were caused by the membership of the Czech Republic in the EU. The thesis emhasizes Community transit, Common transit betweeen the Community and the EFTA countries and the carriage of goods based on the customs documents TIR a ATA. Due to its importance for facilitating international trade a special attention is given to the TIR customs transit system.

Corporate Income Tax and its Demonstration in Accounting

The thesis zooms to corporate income tax and Czech accounting legislation. In first few chapters I deal with topics such as what the tax or accounting are, relationship between tax and accounting. Further I concentrate on regulation of the accounting and current accounting legislation of the Czech Republic. Attention is devoted to corporate income tax, deduction of tax base and how the corporate income tax is charged. Reader could find a separate chapter about long-term property or assets. It is mentioned deferred tax in the text as well. The whole issue is followed by a practical example.
