New regulations on the coordination of social security in the EU - basic principles and coordination of sickness benefits

It has been almost one year since the new Regulations No 883/2004 and 987/2009 came into force on 1.5.2010. These regulations replaced the former Regulations No 1408/71 and 574/72, which had been laying down the rules for coordination of the national social security systems for almost 40 years. As the extent of issue is relatively huge I have focused only on some aspects of coordination. The first chapter concerns the general concept of coordination and the sources of coordination law. It also includes the detailed description of personal and material scope of regulations. One part of this chapter is dealing also with some of the new concepts included in the regulation. The second chapter describes the basic social security coordination principles, ie. the principle of equal treatment, the principle of single applicable legislation, the principle of exporting the benefits and the aggregation principle. In addition to these four basic principles mentioned above new rule for the assimilation of facts is described. This is in fact a new principle, previously applied only on the basis of case-law. Design of web applications testing methodology

Development of web applications is closely associated with testing. This master's thesis deals with the domain of testing. The goal of this thesis is to design a methodology of testing of web applications for small software company. The designed methodology results from OpenUP methodology and author's work experience. First, the theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to testing, history of testing and introduces several approaches to testing. Next, the theoretical part focuses on web applications and its specifics in light of testing. In view of the fact that the designed methodology is inspired by OpenUP methodology, this methodology including its basic principles and components is introduced in next separate chapter. The largest chapter describes the designed methodology of testing of web applications and its basic components: roles, activities and artifacts. Also errors and their lifecycles are examined. The thesis is concluded by a short muse upon the aspects of the implementation of the designed methodology in the environment of small company.

Title: Support for Enterprise Applications in SOFA 2 Author: Tibor Blénessy Department: Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems Supervisor of the master thesis: RNDr. Tomáš Bureš, Ph.D. Abstract: Industry standards defining various aspects of enterprise systems were developed in order to make development of such systems faster and to increase interoperability. For systems created with Java platform, these standards are contained under Java Enterprise Edition. SOFA 2 component system provides a solid base for development of ex- tensive component oriented systems. Goal of this work is to propose and empirically verify the possibility of integration of existing industry standards for enterprise applications in SOFA 2. Proposed solution extends SOFA 2 with components for web user in- terfaces based on Java Servlet API standard and with components for persisting data into relational databases based on Java Peristence API. In addition, it integrates core technologies from the Java Enterprise Edition platform, which should make integration of further standards easier. Sanctions for administrative delicts and protective measures Abstract The focus of this thesis is on the phenomenon of administrative punishment. Its purpose is to summarize certain important aspects connected with the imposing of administrative sanctions and to present the classification of administrative sanctions. Thesis is bases on the current doctrine of administrative law and judicial decisions of administrative courts. It characterizes terms of sanction and punishment as understood by law and particularly in the sphere of administrative law, with notion to differences between court and administrative crimes. Thesis further analyses administrative punishment based on its purpose and summarizes the theoretical concepts, which are attributable to the purpose of punishment in criminal and subsequently in administrative law. It identifies preventive and repressive functions of administrative punishments as two most widely applicable functions. Classification of administrative punishment is described and assessed. This classification is based on the classification of administrative crimes. Sanctions connected to each kind of administrative crimes are mentioned. Catholic social teaching in the Curriculum of Catholic High Schools of the Czech Republic

The work is deal with the education of Catholic social teaching on church schools. At first author mentions general elements of Catholic social doctrine, the next describes various aspects of this learning in more details. He uses method, when he proceeds from general to specific. Author attends to the philosophical and theological context of Catholic social doctrine, its formation of the Popes encyclical and application of this doctrine to the national conditions, especially in the Czech Republic in the end. The main part of the work is research on education of Catholic social teaching in secondary church schools of the Czech Republic. The author wonders in it, whether the Catholic social teaching is taught in secondary church schools, eventually at what level. The result of research author finally considers to impulse for further work on its introduction into the teaching curriculum of these schools.

Asylum Policy in the Czech Republic in perspective of the Common European Asylum System

The diploma thesis entitled "Asylum policy of the Czech Republic in perspective of the Common European Asylum System" describes and analyses the contemporary asylum policy from the national point of view as well as from the European. The represented asylum legislation of the Czech Republic and its application is set into the context of the Common European Asylum System. The thesis discusses the position of applicants for international protection. They apply for this status either immediately after crossing the border or after expiration of their residence permit. This thesis concerns legal or illegal entry or residence as well as the whole procedure described. This is initiated by the application for international protection, it continues over search of the persons, interviews and asylum reception centre and it leads to the final decision by eventually granting international protection status. The authoress also tries to define practical aspects of the international protection seekers staying in the asylum centres. This paper is also focused on other possibilities of unsuccessful applicants above all it means voluntary repatriation.

Design of an e-learning solution for the course 5FI404 – Cognitive Science

This paper presents an e-learning solution used as supporting educational material for the subject 5FI404 - "Cognitive Science". In the theoretical part it summarizes the basic knowledge and principles from the field of e-learning and e-learning course design, which it then attempts to practically apply to the author's own e-learning solution. The first half of the paper focuses on theoretical aspects of planning of an e-learning course, its presentation to the user, user interface design and the possibility of using it to review learnt information. Principles used in individual chapters are discussed in detail so that their application in the practical part is understandable. The second half of this paper focuses on the author's own e-learning solution. The author presents an e-learning course meant to serve as support material for the subject "Cognitive science" at the University of Economics in Prague. Finally, the author analyzes the benefits of his solution and the possibilities of its practical application.

Travel 2.0 - new forms of tourism in the age of evolving web 2.0 technologies

Tématem diplomové práce je fenomén web 2.0, respektive jeho aplikace a služby zaměřené na oblast turismu a cestovního ruchu - tzv. travel 2.0. Cílem práce je vymezit pojem travel 2.0, upozornit na jeho přínosy uživatelům a prozkoumat, jakým způsobem travel 2.0 ovlivňuje turismus a cestovní ruch a jaký je jeho další potenciál v této oblasti (jaký vliv má např. na ekonomické, sociologické či environmentální aspekty turismu). První část práce je věnována teoretickým aspektům a principům webu 2.0, ale také technologickému pozadí této problematiky. Pojednány jsou jednotlivé charakteristiky webu 2.0 včetně kritiky celého konceptu. Další část práce se zabývá lidovou tvořivostí na internetu a možnostmi tvorby sdíleného obsahu v kontextu problematiky travel 2.0 se zaměřením na blog a mashup. Ve třetí části je zkoumán vliv travel 2.0 služeb na ekonomické aspekty turismu a dopady na spotřebitelské chování uživatelů těchto služeb. Pojednán je také vztah globalizace a turismu. Čtvrtá část je věnována alternativním formám turismu a významnému působení travel 2.0 na tuto podoblast cestovního ruchu. Poslední část se pak zabývá možnostmi travel 2.0 na poli trvale udržitelného rozvoje turismu a jeho využitím pro šetrné a zodpovědné cestování vzhledem k environmentálním a dalším otázkám.

Taxation of multinational companies

This diploma thesis focuses on tax aspects of multinational companies. In the first part there is an analysis of EU Council Directive (relating multinational companies) compared with The Income Tax Law. Practical application of some of the above mentioned Directives is shown in some examples. The next part deals with very discussed and actual problem of multinational companies - transfer pricing. This thesis analyses particular documents for this area. The aim of this diploma paper is to create the copmlex thesis about taxation of multinational companies.
