Mráčková, Petra ; Mareš, Jiří (advisor) ; Hadaš, Lubomír (referee) ; Pečenková, Jaroslava (referee)
Summary: Main thema of this bachelor's essay was stress de-tension of the patient efore surgery. This thema is above all particularly elaborate in two main parts, respectively theoretical and empirical. There is definition and clarification of term stress in the theoretical part together with using of special medical literature. There is also pointed to factors evoking and causing stress. This essay furthermore points to the relation between stress and pain at the patient,as the same as between stress and not enough communication to the patient before surgery. Next, there are described possibilities of pain treatment. Theoretical part contents also description of hospital surrounding and its influence to stressogenesis at the patient. In fine of theoretical part there are brought managing strategie, which could detend stress of the patient before surgery. In the empirical part, I have tried to find out by quantitative research the most frequent factors and continuities matched to stress at the patient before surgery. The research file was content from patiens of different age groups and different diagnosis, whose were hospitalizated in Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem.

Use of microwave technique for the assessment of hydration status in dialysis patient
Brožíková, Zuzana ; Slovák, Petr (referee) ; Lopot, František (advisor)
The task of this work was to evaluate the possibility of using microwave sensors to assess hydration status in dialysis patients. For this purpose it was necessary to evaluate existing methods of monitoring fluid balance and determining the optimal postdialysis weight (dry weight) in dialysis patients, become acquainted with contemporary equipment techniques for monitoring blood volume and study the possibilities of microwave technology for monitoring of changes in tissue hydration. To confirm the usefulness of this original method was performed in GHz measurements in vivo, which was divided into three parts - measuring a group of healthy subjects, measuring a group of dialysis patients during hemodialysis (HD) and additional measurements. When the sensor were applicated on the forearm changes in resonant frequency, quality factor or Q-factor and the amplitude changes were observed. In healthy subjects assessed the effects of sex, age and BMI (body mass index). In dialysis patients were evaluated correlations of observed GHz parameters changes compared with data obtained by ultrafiltration indicated by dialysis machine. Both groups were supplemented by bioimpedance spectroscopic examination. Additional measurements was verifying factors that could affect the reproducibility and the resulting value (the...

Influence of the age and other factors on the cytosol concentration of steroid receptors in breast cancer.
Hanáková, Tereza ; Filip, Stanislav (referee) ; Hochmann, Jiří (advisor)
2 Summary Tereza Hanáková Influence of the age and other factors on the cytosol concentration of steroid receptors in breast cancer Diploma assay Charles university in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Pharmacy In our diploma thesis we analyzed statistically the cytosolic results of estrogen and progesterone receptors (ER a PR) of patients with the breast cancer diagnosis, which we got from the laboratory in Pardubice and Hradec Králové. We compared ER and PR concentrations of premenopausal and postmenopausal patients with the use of different methods of evaluation of age dependence of ER and PR. We used predominantly the methods that exploited the calculations of great number of medians of the neighbouring - mutually overlapping groups of patients. First we marshalled the results in the (programme Excel) table according to the age of patients and we constituted the groups for calculation of the medians from the patients in the mutual neighbourhood. These groups were constituted using the similarity of the patients' age or - on the contrary - by such manner which uses the same number of patients in the groups for medias - the age of which was also similar - but not constantly. The age differences in these groups were greater in such age in which there was the small frequency of arising of such...

Free Software and the Possibilities of its Application in Teaching at the Faculty of Management of Prague School of Economics
Kolář, Petr ; Pokorný, Pavel (advisor) ; Kincl, Tomáš (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of using free software (and very closely related open source) in academic environment. At first, it explains the term itself and principles. It slightly affects the motivation factor, which goes along with this specific model of software development and also gives an overview of the subjects, which are involved in it. Then it focuses on key legal issues, including types of licenses. A summary of the pros and cons is included as well. The main part is the concrete offer and characteristics of programs divided into groups according to the focus. At the end the thesis introduces with the examples of use in practice.

Czech Households -- Their Incomes and Costs of Health
Ježková, Zuzana ; Bartošová, Jitka (advisor) ; Bína, Vladislav (referee)
Theoretical part of work contains information on incomes, the reform of health service and different demographic and social-economic factors. The main goal of my work is to recognize the connection between the income of the Czech households and their consumer behaviour in the health service with regard to the chosen demographic and social-economic factors. The practical part contains the data from the Czech Statistical Office from 2000 to 2008. The analysis is carried out by means of different statistical methods (e.g. hypothesis testing). The facts recognized are represented by means of tables, graphs which make up the ground for the economical interpretation of the analysis results.

Compatison of web sites of big European cities
Korous, Petr ; Toman, Prokop (advisor) ; Sigmund, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze and compare three web sites of big European cities: Berlin, Vienna and Zürich. At first, several factors of internet pages are described, e.g. Internet and HTML language. These are followed by a description of city web pages, their regularization and the theoretical part is concluded by a brief description of evaluation methods of web pages. In the first part of the analysis, a methodology of evaluation containing several groups of criteria is designed. To them are then assigned different weights. The evaluation of partial, as well as total results is provided in the following part. Finally, the results are compared with one another, critical deficiencies are defined and a way of its elimination is proposed.

Assessment of the Success Factors of NGOs
Faiglová, Veronika ; Novotný, Jiří (advisor) ; Boukal, Petr (referee)
The aim of this work is the processing and evaluation of information gained from the questionnaire survey, which took place within the University research. The work is focused on factors that influence the success of NGOs in particular in the areas of activities of organizations and their financing. NGOs are first grouped according to age, geographical scope and legal status. It is also being considered with a vision and mission of their short-term and long-term goals. Another chapter examines the importance of volunteers and their application in different areas of operation. Here is an analysis of the internal control situation, the quality of services and use of information systems. The last task is focused on the allocation of financial resources and evaluation of NGO work with the financial plans.

Self-esteem of Older Adults, who Practise Regularly Organised Physical Activity and it's Correlations with Personal Characteristics
Saková, Hana ; Hátlová, Běla (advisor) ; Šmídová, Jana (referee)
Author: Hana Saková Title of thesis: Self-esteem of older adults, who practise regularly organised physical activity and iťs correlation with persona! characteristics This thesis treat of old age in connection with self-esteem and persona! characteristics. The goal of this thesis was to detect self-esteem of 30 older adults, who practise regularly some type of organised physical activity. The results were compared with control group of 30 older adults, who don't practise any organised physical activity. There was also detected five persona! characteristics of older adults, who practise physical activity (neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness), the results were compared with standards for czech population. There was made correlation analysis between neuroticism, extraversion and self- esteem. To detect five persona! characteristics was used NEO Five-Factor Inventory, level of self-esteem was detected through Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. The findings showed that in compare with control group of non-excersising older adults, excersising older adults reached higher level of self-esteem. In the group of excersising oder adults was also detected correlation between self-esteem and persona! characteristics. There was revealed strong negative correlation between neuroticism...

Zjišťování skupin podobných proměnných v systémech SAS a SPSS
Marková, Monika ; Řezanková, Hana (advisor) ; Húsek, Dušan (referee)
My diploma thesis focuses on the comparison of possibilities of the statistical software SAS and SPSS in the area of the factor and cluster analysis and the multidimensional scaling. They deal with the methods for identifying groups of the similar statistical values (variables). The ascertained relations among the variables can serve to decrease the proportion vectors of the variables, which describe the individual monitored objects (statistical units), which helps us to apply other various methods, for example the regression or discriminant analysis. By one of the ways for finding the similarity of variables in the cluster analysis or the multidimensional scaling is searching for their relations. Whereas the base of the factor analysis is the formulation of the relation between two variables by means of the covariances, eventually Pearson correlation coefficient, it is possible to use also coefficients of correlation for the cluster analysis and the multidimensional scaling, in some case other measures. The thesis describes mainly the command syntax of the procedures implemented in SAS and SPSS. The meaning of the individual parametres and the partial specifications of each command are explained. The results gained by various types of analyses are compared on the basis of the real dataset. The possibilities of the statistical software SAS and SPSS are evaluated in the conclusion and it is referred to their advantages or disadvantages. The attention is also paid, for example, to the form of the input dataset, to the quaility of outputs or to the partial methods.
