International Professional Migration of Nurses and its Cultural Aspects, case study: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Babilonová, Zuzana ; Lehmannová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Beroušek, Petr (referee)
The thesis is focused on the professional migration of Czech nurses to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In the beginning I characterize migration theories that together with other chapters about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, healthcare systems of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Czech Republic create basis for the research that is presented in chapter 5. Objectives of the research, which is the crucial part of the thesis, are to reveal motivations of the Czech nurses that lead to migration to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, their imaginations and expectations bounded with work and life in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Also I would like to find out if the expectations were met and if they want to work and live in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a longterm basis. Based on the results of the research, I conclude that Czech nurses do not want to stay in such country on a longterm basis especially due to big cultural differences between Saudi Arabian and Czech culture. At the end of the thesis I briefly characterize intercultural training that could help Czech nurses with their adaptation to Saudi Arabian culture.

The optimum setting of minimum wage in the Czech Republic
Doležal, Petr ; Kubelková, Karina (advisor) ; Kučerová, Jaroslava (referee)
This study deals with the theory and practice of economic instrument termed minimum wage. This study defines in detail the concept of minimum wage, explains its features, effects and side effects. It also addresses the problem of setting the minimum wage and analyses the negative effects on the labour market caused by this tool as well as the reasons for its introduction. The question of the minimum wage is current mainly due to the forthcoming elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, while the rate of the minimum wage is a part of the election platform of the strongest political parties. The aim of the study is to evaluate whether the minimum wage is an effective tool in the current economy of the Czech Republic, if it should be implemented, or what should be the optimal level of minimum wage rates in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the development of minimum wage rates in the separate Czech Republic appears in this work as well as the prediction for the nearest future and comparisons of minimum wage rates within the EU and OECD. Finally, recommendations are set out and the question whether the minimum wage in the Czech Republic is properly configured is answered.

Active Listening In Music Teaching Along With Its Technical Background
Šplíchalová, Hana ; Bělohlávková, Petra (referee) ; Herden, Jaroslav (advisor)
The topic ofmy thesis is an active listening in music teaching along with its technical background. The theoretical part starts with the development of listening at school. In the following chapters the theory of active listening, including its single phases, is elaborated. The theoretical part of the thesis is concluded by chapter about the technical background, which introduces technical utilities such as CD player, interactive boards, electronic keyboard or musical computer programs. The practical part of thesis contains of two methodical examples of working with the computer during a music lesson, which shows how a modem technology, especially musical computer programs, can be used in active preparation as well as in the listening itself. The first example works with Sibelius computer notation system cultivating Smetana's symphonic poem from Ma vlast cycle. The second methodical example thematically connects to the first illustration. It is based upon individual creative activity of students with a Sound Forge program where are the students due to remake Smetana's Vltava in an avant-garde way. Both examples are drawn up so the students would understand how phraseology contributes to the final mode of music. Third methodical example is actually an excursion to a musical recording studio which...

Topical issues of corporate governance under Czech and EU law
Poliaková, Riana ; Josková, Lucie (referee) ; Čech, Petr (advisor)
C Summary This thesis deals with selected actual problems of corporate governance in domestic and Euro- pean regulation. There is no widely recognized definition of the term "corporate governance", therefore some are given by the author in the very beginning of the study. Due to the fact that corporate governance is a very complex area regard must be had to the relevant theories which are introduced in Chapter 2 and form the basis for further analysis. According to the OECD findings from June 2009 (Corporate Governance and the Finan- cial Crisis: Key Findings and Main Messages), weaknesses in remuneration, the exercise of shareholder rights, risk management and board practices are identified as the four areas most immediately linked to the financial crisis. Another problem, as reported of in OECD finding from February 2009 (The corporate Governance Lessons from the Financial Crisis), are inef- fective accounting standards and regulatory requirement for auditing. Therefore, these subjects are regarded as the actual problems of the corporate governance. As a result of relatively short compass of this work, only two of these issues have been covered by the author - remuneration related problems and the exercise of shareholders rights - and form the bulk of this thesis. Remuneration related problems are explained in...

Employees motivation

Economics growth and social spending - a causal relationship?
Hák, Jiří ; Poláková, Olga (advisor) ; Škop, Vladislav (referee)
This paper aims to explore the relationship of social spending and the economic development of the country or region. Work in the first, theoretical part deals with basic theories of economic growth and their view of the state expenditure on social policy. Due attention is also paid to the basic concepts and types of social policies that significantly affect the size of social spending in the marketing area. As part of the theoretical work will be fundamental characteristics of the measuring instruments for economic growth and social spending. In the second, analytical, part of the thesis will deal with empirical data comparing the economic development with the evolution of the size of social spending in several selected countries. The analysis of this part of the work will be characteristic of otherfactors, the relationship of economic growth and social spending determine, influence, and to some extent and explain, such as unemployment, public revenues and public state debt.

Seeming regression of economic indices
Komzáková, Magdalena ; Zvára, Karel (referee) ; Lachout, Petr (advisor)
In the time series analysis it often appears that two or more time series influence each other. When the generating stochastic processes of these series do not have stationary structure but they are stochastically non-stationary, i.e. the characteristic polynomial has a unit root, it happens that the regression modelling the dependence of some absolutely independent series gives statistically significant parameter estimations and statistics used to judge the model fitting do not indicate anything about its impropriety. This phenomenon is called seeming regression (spurious regression) and is solved with the theory of cointegration. We can say that when the series are cointegrated, their model shows their real dependence, not only the seeming one. Due to this fact, cointegration tests are also used for testing for the presence of seeming regression. These tests are based on unit root tests in generating process (or on stationarity tests), because time series can be cointegrated only if their linear combination is a stationary series.

New media theory as ontology of the computer code
Kera, Denisa ; Vlasák, Rudolf (advisor) ; Smetáček, Vladimír (referee) ; Petříček, Miroslav (referee)
The work establishes new media studies in relation to different disciplines that were reflecting contemporary technologies in the 20th century. It emphasizes the likeness o f new media theory to posthumanist philosophy. New media technologies are specific due to the performativity o f the computer code and the overall phenomenon o f software that interconnect different aspects o f the organic and inorganic life. The hybrid and emergent consequences o f this integration o f machines, humans and nature radically challenges our views o f what is technology, society and even what is ontology. Ontology o f the code is an attempt to highlight the dynamic and process driven qualities o f the reality as the ground o f todays technological acceleration. With the help o f the computer codes it generates ever more complex forms o f symbiosis and hybrid collectivity like our cities and the whole globalized society. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Traffic lanes merging analysis and possible improvement measures
Mikolášek, Igor ; Ščerba, Marek (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
The presented thesis deals with lane merging at lane drops. The theory of traffic flow is briefly introduced and put into the perspective of lane merging. Forming of queues at lane drops, the capacity drop and traffic flow behaviour at lane merging is explained. A review of existing measures at lane drops at work zones and elsewhere is provided. Measurements of traffic flow from three different locations are presented. The locations are introduced, the methods used for analysis of the data are explained and the results are provided and discussed. The capacity drop is confirmed and the first proof of concept of the later introduced metering system is presented. The behaviour of the merging drivers was found to have a significant influence on the merging capacity during congestion. Further, an overview of existing applications of traffic light in traffic flow control is provided and ramp metering and mainstream metering is explained. The new metering system for lane drops is presented including several possible modifications and extensions. Finally, the proposed metering system is tested in microsimulation software Aimsun. The simulations further confirm the viability of such systems. It brings significant capacity improvements and consequently even greater improvements of delays and travel times due to shorter queues.
