Perception of Ideal Beauty
Ticháková, Zuzana ; Zamazalová, Marcela (advisor) ; Skokanová, Dagmar (referee)
Media broadcast every day a huge number of signals and messages that affect us, without we are aware of them. In most cases it is about a distorted reality, which seems like real reality. This, from my point of view, affect the self-confidence of current women - with a different hair colour, skin colour, with different proportions. When they are facing perfection that the media present, they feel mean and unhappy with their bodies. By analyzing data from a marketing database and created questionnaire I will try to confirm this hypothesis. In conclusion then I will propose procedures that could reduce these negative impacts or at least reduce them. It is necessary to extend the idea of real beauty and displace untouchable perfection, on which responds still younger girls. Looking back to past, we discover that before Twiggy had become famous, was respected the exact opposite of female beauty. She was the one, who started an endless hunt for the extreme slimness, which brought problems with eating disorders.

Tick-borne encephalitis risk assessment based on classification of vegetation from remote sensing data
Červená, Lucie ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Pavelka, Karel (referee)
Tick-borne encephalitis risk assessment based on classification of vegetation from remote sensing data Abstract The main aim of this thesis has been to find out how to classify various categories of forest vegetation with a different risk of exposure to the tick-borne encephalitis based on the Landsat imagery. The legend used here is derived from the one used in the projects by Daniel, Kolář, Zeman (1995) and Daniel, Kolář, Beneš (1999) but has been reduced to only five classses with no overlaps in their definitions (I. coniferous stands, II. mixed stands, III. young deciduous stands and stand ecotones with a highly heterogeneous structure, IV. deciduous stands with a homogeneous structure, V. deciduous stands with a heterogeneous structure). The supervised classification with the Maximum Likelihood Classifier has been used on the Landsat imagery from various seasons. Difficulties concerned with the presence of clouds and varying Sun elevation across the imagery had to be adressed in the course of the work. The training sites and the control points have been defined by the field research and interpretation of the relevant orthophotomaps and Landsat imagery in 5-4-3 RGB composite. The mask of the forest has been created on the ZABAGED data basis. The time horizon of 2006 - 2010 has been the primary focus....

New findings of physiological and ecological aspects of hibernating bats
Ungrová, Zdislava ; Jahelková, Helena (advisor) ; Lučan, Radek (referee)
Bats can be found in almost all climatic zones. They have to deal with unfavorable conditions of environment to survive and reproduce sucessfully. Especially in temperate zones they have to deal with cold temperatures and lack of food during a winter season. To save energy bats enter a short, diurnal torpor or a hibernation. Usually, hibernation lasts all winter and is disturbed by short bouts of arousals. During both hibernation and torpor a physiological changes occur in bodies of bats. Body temperature decreases from endothermic levels, metabolic rates are reduced as well as respiratory rate and pulse. These changes are mainly influenced by weight and body size, diet, ambient temperature, sex and reproductive status. With the developement of new technologies, these changes can be measured more accurately than they have been in past, whether in a field or in a laboratory. But not all physiological processes are well explained. We have little knowledge especially about mechanism of arousal from hibernation. During awakening bats are infected by fungus Geomyces destructans that affects their immune system. In Norh America fungus causes a disease called White- Nose syndrome (WNS), that is responsible for death of millions of bats, especially endangered is Myotis lucifugus. In Europe, this disease is reffered...

Constitutional National Assembly between 1946 and 1948
Raška, Marcel ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor) ; Hřebejk, Jiří (referee)
RESUME This thesis deals with the Constituent National Assembly in the years 1946 - 1948. The purpose of my thesisis is to point to the circumstances which contributed to shape the norms governing the functioning of this Assembly and corporate those to the arrangement which existed during the First Republic (1918 - 1938). This period is interesting precisely because of the renewal of the Czechoslovak statehooh and parliamentarism interrupted by the occupation. No les sense was the actual legislative acts of this Legislative Assembly and my thesis was not complete if I did not occupied this point. This tesis is divided into three parts. The first part names "A litle history" is deals with two significant facts which influence set up and work this Assembly. First fact is Slovak National Council founded in 1943 and its eim was revolt and prepered the after-war organizationt of the country. I focus on the consequences folloving the publication by this body of a decree on the basic which assumed all the legislative power in the Czechoslovakia: the decrees of the Slovak National Council and the decrees of the president of the republic. I describe the way in which this power was subsequently modified and in fact gradualy reduced till the Slovak National Council bacame a subordinate body of central government....

Development of immune response to the Hymenoptera venom allergens during specific allergen immunotherapy
Hrabánková, Eva ; Kučera, Petr (advisor)
Order of ants and wasps ( Hymenoptera ) counts a hundred thousand species of insects (only on the lives of our around 15,000 kinds ) 1 . Some individuals have a stinging venom apparatus that they primarily used to defend against the enemy or stun kořisti1 , 2 and 3 stings or bites One can manifest in different ways. Not too often, but severe or even fatal complication of systemic allergic reactions. System allergen immunotherapy respective insects ( " Specific Allergen Immunotherapy " - SAIT ), abbreviated poison Immunotherapy ( " Venom Immunotherapy " - VIT) is the only causal therapy , anti- of a serious or life -threatening IgE -mediated anaphylactic reaction to following stabbing relevant type hmyzu4 . Its purpose is to induce long-term immunological tolerance (specific hyposensitization) to systemically administered alergenům5 . Initial attempts at VIT has been carried out in the 20s of last century , the initially used whole body extracts ( "whole body extreacts " - WBEs ) were due to comparable efficacy to placebo , replaced in the 70s poisonous extracts , which are used for diagnosis and therapy dodnes3 . The mechanism of induction of immunological tolerance through SAIT is complex and not yet fully understood . Probably induces the formation of the so-called " Blocking " IgG antibodies , reduces...

Insulin resistance as a predictor of weight loss during weight reduction regimes
Šigutová, Iva ; Štich, Vladimír (advisor)
The issue of insulin resistance is currently widely discussed issues, particularly with regard to the relationship to obesity. This is a topic of much current, since it is obesity with its complications are one of the typical effects changes in contemporary lifestyles. Generally known fact is the increase of insulin resistance due to obesity. On the contrary, the reduction of body weight involves a reduction in insulin resistance. The issue, however, can be seen from the other side: it can be insulin resistance predictor of weight loss in reducing mechanisms? Examination of the mechanism is one of the objectives of this work. Another objective is examining the issue of obesity, izulinové resistance in general. One of the proponents of the theory as a predictor of insulin resistance is For example, E. Ravussin, the results of this work will be confronted with research on this issue in the Czech Republic.

Neuroactive steroids in human physiology and pathophysiology
Kubátová, Jana ; Hill, Martin (advisor) ; Fanta, Michal (referee)
The present diploma thesis is focused on the evaluation of steroid metabolome in body fluids in human pregnancy and parturition and also concentrates on the estimation of steroids in men with epilepsy (MWE) regarding the influence of epilepsy and its treatment with antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). The results obtained eventuate to the following conclusions: 1. They support the proposition about the key importance of corticoliberin for the timing of human parturition via stimulation of the steroidogenesis in the fetal zone of the fetal adrenal (FZ). Changes in steroid levels, however, much better predict the timing of parturition than the variation in corticoliberin. 2. The distribution of isoforms of placental oxidoreductases determines the excess of oxidized forms of the sex steroids and NAS in the fetus and the excess of their reduced forms in mother. This mechanism fundamentally affects the steroid bioactivity. The results indicate the role of NAS in pregnancy sustaining, their analgesic effect around parturition and their role in the pathophysiology of postpartum blues.

Bullying in School Related to Pupil's Family Environment
Koucká, Veronika ; Zvírotský, Michal (advisor) ; Hanušová, Jaroslava (referee)
Despite the development of promising peer group and school environment research efforts, the role of family in bullying and its amelioration is less clearly developed. Nevertheless, family factors are thought to provide a crucial foundation for social interactions and aggressive behavior in childhood. For example, children maltreated by parents are thought to be more likely to display patterns of violence and victimization in extra-familial relationships. The purpose of this thesis is to discuss accessible body of research related to bullying problem in association with family relations, communication and education patterns. The last chapter focuses on family-based intervention, especially in families of bullying children. Empirical findings have uncovered specific family factors that may explain the occurrence of bully/victim problems at school. Interventions that include the family may be an effective way to reduce extensive suffering of children at schools. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Therapeutic hypothermia is considered standard of care in patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation of their effect on reducing the volume of brain impairment. Diploma thesis deals with the differences in the use of therapeutic hypothermia among university and district hospitals. The theoretical data give an overview of the physiology of thermoregulation, the body reactions to hypothermia, the pathophysiology of cerebral ischemia, controlled hypothermia and possible methods of cooling. The research part is devoted to exploring the use of controlled hypothermia difference between hospitals.

How weight loss regimens change resting energy expenditure?
Kotrčová, Věra ; Hejnová, Jindřiška (advisor)
The dissertation work focusses on changes in resting energy expenditure during the reducing regimes. I have compared two groups of people - women in reducing regimes and men after strength training. My research confirms the following: within the women's group, there was a decrease in weight, thereby also a decrease in resting energy expenditure. On the contrary, a slight increase of resting energy expenditure can be observed within the men's group; however, it is not significant. There was no weight-decrease in this group, which is, in my opinion, caused by the changes in the body composition - above all, the increase of FFM.
