The European Market Segmentation with Respect to the Post-Productive Population
Rudá, Eliška ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Kašpar, Václav (referee)
The first step of the hierarchical approach to the international market segmentation is described and demonstrated in this master's thesis. The theoretical part that covers the methodology, statistical background and secondary data sources is followed by the illustration of cluster analysis. The outcome is the division of thirty European countries into five segments with respect to the post-productive population. The formed segments are then characterised and interpreted. Their usability is shown in three challenges in the European Year of 2012, which is dedicated to Active Ageing.

Beer Market Segmentation
Koulová, Tereza ; Filipová, Alena (advisor) ; Zeman, Jiří (referee)
This master thesis deals with beer market segmentation in the Czech Republic. The main aim of this thesis is to find out whether there is only one big segment or more different segments can be found there. The thesis is divided into two parts, the methodological --theoretical and the practical one. Segmentation, targeting and positioning are described in the first part. The second part is devoted to secondary resources analysis and content analysis focused on beer advertisements. The main part of practical section is to depicts primary quantitative research which is the basis for market segmentation done via SPSS statistic programme. At the end of this master thesis all segments are described in detail and marketing recommendation for each of them are also added there.

Households´ consumption development in Czech reublic
Laki, Roland ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Sirůček, Pavel (referee)
Households with their consumption and savings play very important role when it comes to right functioning of Czech republic economy. The main goal of my thesis is to analyse the development of households' consumption since 1995, reasons for this development and to predict the future development. To achieve the goal I mostly used data from the Czech Statistical Office. Due to this fact I also defined methodology of index calculations in theoretical part the way the Czech Statistical Office did it. The analytical part contains an analysis of households' consumption according to mentioned methodology and particular reasons for the consumption. In conclusion, I noted the important decisions are being made in consumption and prognosis of future households' consumption based on the development in previous years.

Comparison of central govenrment debt in the Czech Republic and Slovakia
Gajoš, Martin ; Izák, Vratislav (advisor) ; Blažek, Petr (referee)
The subject of this thesis is to compare the long-term fiscal imbalances in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. This thesis is focused on the comparison and trend analysis of central govenrment debt in the Czech republic and Slovakia, including the structure of government debt, according to several criteria. The goal of this thesis is to find different trends in the mentioned countries, and if possible, to identify its causes. There is also an introduction to the issue, including the definition of basic concepts. For this purpose resources are used mainly from Internet sources, such as sites of finance ministries and statistical offices.

Development of the electoral system of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and prospects on its potential changes
Panáček, Jan ; Lebeda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Švec, Radek (referee)
Aim of this bachelor paper is to observe the development of electoral system in Great Britain after the World War II and its parametric changes, effect of these changes on elecitons results and Political situation and to observe trends leading to possible change of the electoral system in Great Britain, that has been laid by the results of last elections. As method a case study will be used and as main resources I intend to use electoral statitics showing the gradual development of individual parameters of the British electoral system, monographies and research papers analyzing growing disproportionality of the electoral results and necessity (or unnecessity) of the change of electoral system. In the first part i will analyze general tendencies of the electoral system of Great Britain and its development after the World War II, czech and foreign literatury concerning the British electoral system will be used as resources. In the second part individual elections and its results will be analyzed, observing the influence and development against the last elections. For that I will use electoral statistics and analysis. The third part will observe the situation after the 2010 elections and development towards the AV referendum. Main resources for that part will be official materials of political parties,...

Human resources, the structure of their use in selected sectors
Hospodkova, Petra ; Severová, Lucie (advisor)
The main target of dissertation is to prepare recommendations and plan of investments for education in healthcare for paramedical professions. In the investigation, the emphasis will be on identifying critical points, ie. the determination of expertise for which the apparent insufficient supply of jobs on the labor market and discussions reasons. Another aim is to determine trends in education for paramedical positions in neighboring countries through systematic review. Other methods are survey, mathematical-statistical models (correlation, regression), CEA, CUA, etc.

Political Situation in the World - Its Impact on Air Traffic
Šlehofer, Miroslav ; Hudeček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Marada, Miroslav (referee)
10 ABSTRACT Political situation and its impact on air traffic is the aim of this study. Events (September 11, 2001 and Iraq war in 2003) were monitored on two different levels of the United States - regional (national) and global (international). For reaching the target there were established hypotheses concerning about character of decline of air traffic demand, different impacts, connection between distance and decline, and airport size categories. The data base is represented by statistics of BTS (number of check-in passengers). In the study is applied slightly modified methodical procedure of Hatty and Hollmeier (2003) which enables comparison of real and supposed development. From this comparison is calculated deviation of air traffic demand and is analyzed qualitatively (mainly) and quantitatively. The evaluation of chosen US and world states is accompanied by graphs. Gained results and findings are summed up and there are commented impacts of September 11 (2001) and Iraq war in 2003 on air traffic demand. key words: air traffic in the United States, air traffic demand, September 11 (2001), Iraq war in 2003

The Causes and Effects of Financial and Economic Crisis in Ireland
Beránková, Kateřina ; Antoš, Ondřej (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
The purpose of this work is to describe economic development of a relatively small open economy before the occurrance as well as during the ongoing financial crisis and domestic recession. The first part of the text describes economic cycle and economic policy theories, and outlines aspects of financial system instability and its likely impacts on real economic activity. The second part brings out discussion of historic predispositions, sources of growth as well as condition of economic policies in Ireland. By means of relevant statistical indicators an analysis of macroeconomic equilibrium is undertaken. Also, in context of the global crisis, main contagion mechanisms, fall-outs and mitigating policy measures are inspected.

Portable and Miniaturized Separation Techniques Applicable for Food and Biotechnology Analysis
Dvořák, Miloš ; Pospíchal, Jan (referee) ; Bednář,, Petr (referee) ; Rittich, Bohuslav (advisor)
Capillary electrophoresis was used for determination of 6 fractions of caseins. Those fractions were measured in 144 samples of cow’s milk originated from the feeding experiment focused on explanation the influence of the feeding onto casein productions. In this work were separated 6 fraction of caseins first time with total resolution of the peaks. Capillary electrophoresis was applied for determination of short-chain organic acids during fermentation of wine must. It was compared the fermentation of must fermented by different yeast. The difference of profile short-chain organic acids during fermentation were not statistically significant. The once difference was in the utilisation of the malic acid and production of the lactic acid. A portable miniaturized system for medium pressure liquid chromatography was developed. The components were tested and system was used for the isocratic and gradient elution of various analytes (food dyes, parabens). New line of electroluminescent diodes (LEDs) for deep-UV areas of wavelength based on a different materials substrate was characterised. The new line was compared with old line LEDs. The new line LEDs was incorporated in deep-UV absorbance detectors. Detectors were characterised and tested for a detection various analytes in modes flow injection analysis and chromatography separation. First time was characterised this new line of the LEDs and the origin of the parasitic emission band produced by deep-UV LEDs light sources was explained. This origin is given by disturbances of a materials substrates. This work is a contribution for an advance of low-cost and portable systems and detection devices in the field of analytical chemistry.
