Conservatism and liberalism - an outdated concept?
Pour, Marek ; Vranka, Marek (advisor) ; Lukavský, Jiří (referee)
Conservatism and liberalism in american psychological reasearch is mostly described as unidimensional scale which clearly divides ideology into two opposite ideological standpoints. However, current relevant studies show that unidimensional approach to study ideology is overly simplified. Linking ideological orientation and personal traits seem to bring about contradicting results. In a similar way, relevant psychological instruments for measuring conservatism seem to measure two relatively independent aspects of conservatism. It is apparent mostly from large population studies, that ideological orientation is more complex than it may appear. Specific agendas stemming from their respective ideological directions are for a large part of population relatively uncorrelated with their overall ideological self- identification. Multidimensional models of conservatism and liberalism using at least social and economic agenda therefore seem as a more useful way to describe political orientation for most of the population. Empirical part of the study proposes a partial replication of two relevant studies to test a thesis of similar multidimensionality of the left-right ideological orientation scale in czech population. This could at the same time provide a relevant american-czech comparison.

SYNTHESIS OF UNSYMMETRICAL DERIVATES OF AZAPHTALOCYANINES FOR THE THIRD GENERATION OF PHOTOSENSITISERS AND SYNTHESIS OF THEIR PRECURSORS
Šlajsová, Dana ; Zimčík, Petr (advisor) ; Kučerová, Marta (referee)
SYNTHESIS OF UNSYMMETRICAL DERIVATES OF AZAPHTALOCYANINES FOR THE THIRD GENERATION OF PHOTOSENSITISERS AND SYNTHESIS OF THEIR PRECURSORS Slajsova Dana Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague Unsymmetrical zinc complexes of azaphtalocyanines (AzaPc) of tetrapyrazinoporphyrazine type with one carboxylic acid (AAAB) were synthesized using statistical condensation of 5,6-bis(tert-butylsulfanyl)pyrazine-2,3- dicarbonitrile (A) with 6-(3-tert-butylsulfanyl-5,6-dicyanopyrazine-2- ylamino)hexanoic acid (B1) or 3-(5,6-dicyano-3-methyl-pyrazine-2- ylsulfanyl)propionic acid (B2). These precursors were chosen because each of them takes advantage of suitable properties to application of AzaPc in photodynamic therapy. These properties are demonstrated in final products too. Bulky tert- butylsulfanyl ensures good monomerisation of planar moleculs of AzaPc in a solution and consequently allows efficient separation and purification. Positive influence of alkylsulfanyl substituent on singlet oxygen production has been already shown earlier. Carboxy group that can be further functionalized (e.g. conjugation with biomolecules) brings into the AzaPc the modifiable moiety. The standard cyclization process with anhydrous zinc acetate was applied....

The psychology of happiness: the possibilities of happiness changes
Řechková, Ludmila ; Mertin, Václav (referee) ; Bahbouh, Radvan (advisor)
The thesis deals with psychological theories of happiness. It analyzes the definitions of particular authors in order to review their variance and concordance. It assumes treating happiness as an affect as too reducing. It attempts to offer actual and complex view of happiness in psychology. It introduces theories how humans process how much they are happy and how these processes are carried out at various psychological functioning levels. The paper also describes time-sequential framework from momentary intensive feeling to happiness as a long-term appraisal of human life. It raises a question if happiness is a psychological state, personality trait or process and tries to find an answer which would be consistent with actual psychological knowledge. It brings the newest findings about hedonic treadmill and set-point theories research. Last but not least, it examines happiness increasing strategies and tests one of them in the empirical part.

Laboratory research of selected paintings of František Kupka and Edvard Munch
Hradilová, J. ; Hradil, David ; Bakardjieva, Snejana ; Vojtíšková, M. ; Langrová, A. ; Korbelová, Z. ; Novotná, M.
In relatively wide range, paintings of the modern authors - namely Edvard Munch and František Kupka wereinvestigated. The effective combination of the evalution by restorers and the materials research of the colour layers bring a very complex view on electron microscopy is used to analyse these less than one millimetre thick fragments of paintinds moulded in polyester resin and polished in cross-sections.

Film as medium
Vodrážková, Katrin ; Bystřický, Jiří (advisor) ; Marcelli, Miroslav (referee)
Work deals with film as a medium, which is based in the broad sense of the concept of media philosophy, the core field of electronic culture, in the narrower sense is the theme set in the philosophy of film. Here I refer to the importance and functioning of the film as a medium, that brings a new dimension of vision, space and time. This media is a thinking and percipient medium, environment raising a new forms and concepts of vision, this medium needs a vision, and the vision in turn requires thinking. One previously tried to explain the outside world through symbols, which were combined into images, but gradually it became the image is too complex. Then tried to explain through pictures and text fonts linear nature of thinking has brought a new element - time. But now the man finds himself in a situation where he meets with the return of paintings, because of the complexity of the texts of modern times. Invention, the technical picture which can explain the text and becomes a reality. You need to be able to see beneath the surface of the mechanism of this type, including photographs and film, and not see only the inputs and outputs. With that is also linked to new forms of visual display sequence and other technology and way of seeing, or a comparison between the exe of the viewer and camera.

Synthesis of unsymmetrical derivatives of azaphthalocyanines II.
Šlajsová, Dana ; Zimčík, Petr (advisor) ; Kučerová, Marta (referee)
SYNTHESIS OF UNSYMMETRICAL DERIVATES OF AZAPHTALOCYANINES II. Slajsova Dana Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague Magnesium complexes of unsymmetrical azaphtalocyanines (AzaPc) of tetrapyrazinoporphyrazine type with one carboxylic acid were synthesized using statistical condensation of 5,6-bis(tert-butylsulfanyl)pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile (A) and 6-(3-tert-butylsulfanyl-5,6-dicyanopyrazine-2-ylamino)hexanoic acid (B). These two products were chosen because each of them takes advantage of suitable properties to application of AzaPc in photodynamic therapy. These properties are demonstrated in final product too. Bulky tert-butylsulfanyl ensures good monomerisation of planar moleculs of AzaPc in a solution and consequently allows efficient separation and purification. Positive influence of alkylsulfanyl substituent on singlet oxygen production has been already shown earlier. Carboxy group, that can be converted in other reactions (esterification, conjugation with biomoleculs) brings into the AzaPc the modifiable moiety. The standard cyclization process in butanol in the presence of magnesium butanolate was applied. 2,2-dimethylpropane-1-thiol was liberated during the reaction. Probably, it was due to nucleophilic attack of...
