The use of NoSQL databases in the environment of financial institutions
Stejskal, Jan ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Bruckner, Tomáš (referee)
This work deals with the use of NoSQL database systems in an environment of financial institutions. The work has several objectives: to characterize the types of NoSQL database systems, for selected systems to analyze their properties, their potential use in financial institutions to develop proposals case studies for their use, and one of them select and implement a demonstration of the possibilities of using this type of database system in the specific environment of financial institutions. These objectives are to be achieved by providing a description and analysis of the theoretical part, practical part in designing, choosing, implementation, verification and acceptance of one case study - based on acceptances criteria. In the thesis are the basic concepts of database systems explained first. It is explained in more detail the concept of NoSQL and related terms including causes and genesis, classification systems NoSQL in each category. The next part contains a comparison of the characteristics of relational database - relational systems and NoSQL database systems. The next chapter deals with the needs of financial institutions in the context of the use of database systems. There are also analyzed the properties of several selected NoSQL database systems . The next chapter is based on the analytical findings from previous chapters devoted to finding poten-tials lu use NoSQL database systems in an environment of financial institutions, which is the basic theme of the thesis . The penultimate chapter contains a suggestions of case studies, one of which is selected and a description of the results of its implementation are described in the last chapter . The main contribution of this work is a contribution to the theory of NoSQL systems and the possibili-ty of their use by financial institutions, which take into account when choosing a database system, or a combination of database systems, in practical terms can lead not only to increase the efficiency of their use, but also to optimize the acquisition and operational the costs of such systems.

Evaluation of the Activities of Political Parties and Selected Institutions - June 2016
Červenka, Jan
In June survey of the Public Opinion Research Centre, citizens of the Czech Republic evaluated the activities of political parties and some institutions. Standard school classification was used for the evaluation, where the best performance is represented by number one and the worst performance by number five.

Acoustic signal classification
Pospíšil, Aleš ; Balík, Miroslav (referee) ; Atassi, Hicham (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis is focused on automatic music genre classication. First part of work evaluates present situation and refer to published studies. Gained knowledge from there is applied in this work. In terms of nding solution for problem the work summarize and describe suitable music features and classication techniques like neural networks and k-nearest neighbor. Four selected classication classes were classical, electro, jazz and rock music. Result of work is user-friendly system that provides automatic music genre recognition. Achieved classication performance is more less comparable to human music genres recognition.

QoS implementation in access network
Hauser, Václav ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
My bachelor thesis deals with the implementation of quality of service in the access network. My bachelor thesis describes at first the concept of quality of service and its characteristics. In addition, it makes the reader familiar with various implementations models. At first with integrated services, which are based on the RSVP reservation protocol. The task of this protocol is to establish the route through the reserve RESV and PATH messages. The second implementation model contains the differentiated services. There is no reservation protocol, quality of service is ensured by using the classification of individual data flows. Accordingly, as packets are classified, they are assigned according to a priority, which is crucial for the packets travel through the network. Next part of this thesis describes the implementation of any different types of configuration of two implementation models of quality of services. There is configuration of RSVP protocol, MQC, AutoQos and MLS QoS. Final chapter describes the configurations examples.

Analysis of special investment funds focusing on the Czech Republic in the years 2004 - 2014
Hanusová, Jitka ; Ševčíková, Michaela (advisor) ; Hájek, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with retail investors investing in mutual funds in the Czech Republic and focuses on the period from 2004 to 2014. The aim is to analyze what investment opportunities special funds can offer retail investors. The theoretical part defines important terms for collective investment, the concept of the so called "magic triangle", illustrating the relationship between return, risk and liquidity, and the differences between retail and qualified investors. It also briefly outlines the development of collective investment in the world and in the Czech Republic, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of collective investment. Subsequently, the current classification of collective investment funds in the Czech Republic are analyzed from different perspectives. No major differences have been found in the regulation of standard and special funds. The main contribution that this work provides is the detailed analysis of five chosen special funds, forming the practical part of this thesis. Based on the selected criteria it has been found that only some of the chosen special funds can offer retail investors the possibility of an interesting appreciation of invested funds. The work points to the fact that the legislation of the fund is not as fundamental for retail investors as the specific type of investment strategy and the focus of the fund.

The Proposal for Improvement of Supply Management
Kučerová, Kamila ; Holubik, Pavel (referee) ; Mikulec, Luděk (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the study and optimize inventory management at Kordárna Plus, a. s. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of the basic concepts related to inventory management, classification, costs associated there with and methods of inventory control. The practical part is focused on the analysis of stocks on the process of procuring, warehousing and inventory control. This analysis uncovered deficiencies for which they proposed solutions. Proposals should lead to improved inventory management in the company.

Biotechnické objekty v krajině
Valová, Ludmila
This thesis is concerned with the issue of biotechnical objects in the landscape. Biotechnical objects are built to protect species biodiversity. They replace the natural refuge of certain groups of animals. The first chapters on the protection of nature and state of habitats in the Czech Republic explain the reasons why many habitats are endangered or extinct. In a second stage the proposed classification of biotechnical objects follows. Three ways of looking at sorting them are introduced. They reflect the open landscape, the private sector and the urban area residences. Finally the description of construction, materials and suitable locations is presented for 20 biotechnical objects. Their arrangement corresponds to the classification by target species. The part of the thesis is a case study which is based on the field research in the years 2013-2015, when the implemented biotechnical objects were visited. The result is a comprehensive evaluation of the functionality of selected objects and their aesthetic influence.

Innovations in the Banking sector
Khachukaeva, Bella ; Špaček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Mareš, Jan (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to propose improvements in the selected banking process. This thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to the traditional and banking approaches to innovations. The definition of innovations, classification, sources, models of innovation process, barriers to innovations are defined in the theoretical part. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of the process and a proposal of the innovation model of the process.

Yield Curve Modeling and the Effect of Macroeconomic Drivers: Dynamic Nelson-Siegel Approach
Patáková, Magdalena ; Šopov, Boril (advisor) ; Vošvrda, Miloslav (referee)
The thesis focuses on the yield curve modeling using the dynamic Nelson-Siegel approach. We propose two models of the yield curve and apply them on four currency areas - USD, EUR, GBP and CZK. At first, we distill the entire yield curve into the time-varying level, slope and curvature factors and estimate the parameters for individual currencies. Subsequently, we build a novel model investigating to what extent unobservable factors of the dynamic Nelson-Siegel model are determined by macroeconomic drivers. The main contribution of this thesis resides in the innovative approach to yield curve modeling with the application of advanced technical tools. Our primary objective was to increase the accuracy and the estimation power of the model. Moreover, we applied both models across different currency areas, which enabled us to compare the dynamics of the yield curves as well as the influence of the macroeconomic drivers. Interestingly, the results proved that both models we developed not only demonstrate strong validity, but also produce powerful estimates across all examined currencies. In addition, the incorporated macroeconomic factors contributed to reach higher precision of the modeling.
