Mythology and ideology of "children's" semantic codes in the magazine Sluníčko before and after year 1989
Smrčková, Andrea ; Švec, Luboš (referee) ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor)
Diploma thesis "Mythology and ideology of "children's" semantic codes in the magazine Sluníčko before and after year 1989" deals with a specific way of construction of reality. We worked with two volumes, No. 20 and 40. Theoretic part deals with the description of main method - semiotic analysis, but also with psychological development of a child, genres intended for a child reader and with the transformation of mythology. We tried to detect myths connected with some topics (family, festival, education, work and differences among people). We carried out semiotic analysis based on the Barthes' theory of mythology and ideology. We studied what happens with the parts of sign in the prime system, if they move into to the secondary system. Barthes called this system metalanguage or also a mythological system. Another chapter deals with advertising that appeared in volume 40. According to the primary hypotheses there aren't changes in mythology and ideology. After we had analysed texts and also some pictures, we recognized that our inquests aren't definite. The myth has not been transformed only in the event of some subjects (e.g. family); changes in mythology are connected with an ideological transformation (e.g. subjects work and festival). Study of contrast mechanisms in environmental scanning electron microscopy
Wandrol, Petr
The main goal of the work is study of contrast materials in environmental scanning electron microscopy. I will concentrate to the design and construction of the original detector of secondary electrons, which is not influenced by backscattered electrons as well as to scintillation detector of backscattered electrons on the basis of single-crystal YAP in the dissertation work. For successful solution of the topic it will be necessary to manage the theory of the influence of magnetic fields on trajectories of electrons. The knowledge of the software SIMION, version 7.0 will be necessary too, together with studying of the theory for assessment of suitable vacuum conditions in differential chambers.

Computations of Wien Filter Properties and Aberrations
Lencová, Bohumila ; Vlček, Ivan
Wien filter is studied in electron optics as a separator in a LEEM or as a separator of primary and secondary beams in a low voltage SEM. The advantage of the Wien filter is that one beam is only slightly influenced by the filter and the second beam can easily be handled, the required separation angle for this is about 10-20 degrees. The computation of aberrations of the Wien filter needs to take into account field shapes of both strong dipole fields and the additional quadrupole, the action of the filter is then that of a weak lens and the aberation structure is more complicated than that of a rotationally symmetric lens. The determination of aberation coefficients from direct ray tracing for this optical element is often preferred to aberration theory.

A four-part song of modern man: Czech translations of Walt Whitman's "Song of Myself"
Kalandra, Jan ; Kalivodová, Eva (advisor)
This thesis analyzes Czech translations of Walt Whitman's poetry, especially of his central poem, Song of Myself. The main aim of the paper is to provide translation analyses of all four complete Czech translations. Some fragmentary translations are also mentioned, and a basic overview of Czech secondary literature on Whitman's work is provided. The main body of the thesis is divided into three chapters. Chapter One describes Whitman's life and work in the context of his time, as portrayed in secondary literature. It concentrates on features reflected in the text of Song of Myself, including literary influences and censorship that influenced the work. It also sets out a hypothesis of possible censorship influences on the single translations. Chapter One continues with a detailed analysis of main structural features of Whitman's poetry, as reflected in Song of Myself. The features are contextualized with the main literary theories of the time and with Whitman's individual aesthetics. The structural features are sorted according to linguistic levels they belong to. This assortment is then used as a framework for the analyses in Chapters Two and Three. Chapter Two provides a detailed analysis of the translations in two selected sections of Song of Myself. The translations are compared to the original and one...

Tandemat - didactic game for the teaching of mathematics at the secondary school
Šilhánová, Lucie ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Jančařík, Antonín (referee)
Tandemat - didactic game for the teaching of mathematics at the secondary school The thesis concerns a didactic game called Tandemat which I have created as a complement for the teaching of mathematics at secondary schools. The goal of the thesis is to find out and describe the potential of this game for the teaching of mathematics at this school level. First, the importance of games in our lives and also in teaching is mentioned. Next, some resources concerning games in the teaching of mathematics are described. The core of the thesis consists of the game Tandemat which I have elaborated and which is inspired by the popular game Activity. The results of the pilot studies of the game with the preliminary name Aktivity which were realized at elementary school and university helped to improve the game into its present version Tandemat. This has been tested by five groups of pupils in four classes of a secondary grammar school. The experiments were recorded and the acquired data were analyzed using the method based on the grounded theory approach. Moreover, a questionnaire was administered to pupils, concerning their grades in mathematics and the Czech language and their remarks on the game itself. The results of the analyses, observations and questionnaires show the potential and the limits of...
