Spanish advertisements from the perspective of the text linguistics
Žampachová, Zuzana ; Zavadil, Bohumil (advisor) ; Čermák, Petr (referee)
he topic of the thesis is Spanish advertisements from the perspective of the text linguistics. Already the title itself says that the study consists of two parts. The first one is theoretic; it tries to explain the issue of the text linguistics, to characterize the situation of discipline from the point of view of the significant authors belonging to the given theory. The point of departure is the theory of textuality according to two important linguists Beaugrande and Dressler (1997) who present the text linguistics from perspective of seven norms. At the same time the study refers to existing relation between the iconic and the verbal languages and explains the essential notion and terms relating to the advertisement. The second part is focused on the practical aspect, application of textual norms on advertising message. It is based on specific examples of Spanish daily newspaper El País which is one of the Spanish newspapers with a large base of readers.

A Didactic Game as a Means of Opening Up the World of Geometry
Nečasová, Klára ; Jirotková, Darina (advisor) ; Hejný, Milan (referee)
The goal of the diploma dissertation is to introduce a game with geometrical object as a probable part of lessons focused on teaching solid geometry. This activity is a possibility how, according to valid school standards, we can set up the view to geometrical world through manipulation with concrete objects build conception of perceiving solids and their parts. The thesis also summarises theory about methods of teaching, analyses experiments that were done with primary school children and describes phenomenon visible and obvious when adopting such activity to lessons.

Use of new media in museology
Seyčková, Nina ; Stöcklová, Anna (advisor) ; Šlerka, Josef (referee)
This work connects a practical project, revitalization of Frani Sramka Museum in Sobotka, with available theory. Addressed are three theoretical areas - museum, education and new media. Historically, museums are democratic educational institutions. Currently, museums use mainly principles of non-formal education that displays higher diversity in learning approaches. New media are appropriate means of enrichment and practical application of non-formal education in museums. Museums use new media in diverse ways. This work addresses two uses of new media - technological and conceptual, which stems from the characteristics of new media. The argument of this work is that conceptual new-media approach should be the focus when preparing an exhibition - new-media exhibit is not created purely by incorporation of modern technology. The contribution of this work is a description of a parallel between new media characteristics and functioning of the museum, connection of theory to a practical project and analysis of new-media museum creation , which is up to now unusual in the Czech Republic. Key words: new media; museum; interactivity; non-formal education; Web 2.0

Trust - a neglected aspect of economic life
Macek, Petr ; Lopušník, Ondřej (referee) ; Mlčoch, Lubomír (advisor)
This thesis aims to contribute to the developing theme of economics of trust and justify its importance in the economic theory. The main emphasis is stressed on defining the terms trust and reputation using practical case of the association of collective investment UNIS ČR. The first part is dedicated to the concept of trust in economics as one of the main notions that ensures economic prosperity. The second part is about reputation and reputation capital, defining the terms and introducing the institution Underwriters Laboratories and the concept of Trusters and Promisors, which belongs to the phenomena. In the fourth part I look into Czech economic transformation and the last part I dedicate to the practical example from the area of collective investment. In the conclusion I am summarizing the findings of my work and discussing possible future direction of research in this field.

Online class
Han, Myong Nam ; Libič, Peter (referee) ; Kofroň, Jan (advisor)
The aim of the project is to create an e-learning system "Online Class" for schools. The project consists of two applications, server and user client application. The server application is the server of e-learning system that is used to manage all online classes. The client application is the interface of the system for teachers and students. Teachers can schedule, begin and end classes. During the class teachers can speak by using a microphone and do presentations. It is also possible for teachers to write theory, sentences or notes and draw something or show pictures. Students can listen to teachers, follow presentations and also ask questions during the class. Students can also view finished classes and print their contents.

Freiman's theorem in additive combinatorics
Hančl, Jaroslav ; Nešetřil, Jaroslav (referee) ; Klazar, Martin (advisor)
In the presented summary work we study the inverse problem in additive number theory. More speci cally, we try to characterize sets A of positive integers if we know some information about their sumsets 2A = A + A. At the beginning we devote some time to nite sets with the property |2A| = 2|Aj| - 1, then we solve a generalized problem for such abelian groups G in whose order of all elements is bounded by a constant rand their subsets A satisfying j2Aj cjAj. At the end we present the famous Freiman theorem, which describes sets of positive integers A small in the sense |2A| - c|A|. We prove this theorem and give some corollaries and applications.

Analytical method of Allen Forte and its applications
Mašková, Alice ; Pudlák, Miroslav (referee) ; Havelková, Tereza (advisor)
Present work deals with analytical method of Allen Forte which is based on the set theory. This method is a frequently used tool for analysis of atonal music, mainly in the United States. However, in the Czech musicology it is still not well known. The only property of music which is considered is pitch. In this work important theoretical and analytical studies are presented. Basic terms are explained including their evolution. Next, the work describes polemical debate reacting on Forte's texts. The debate proceeded mainly in musical journals and was concerned with the problem of determining the scope of usability of the theory, as well as with questions of too high formality of the method and also with the important problem of segmentation, which means determining smaller units as objects of analysis. Attention is paid to possible exploitation of computer programs, too. As there is no Czech terminology for Forte's theory, it was necessary to create one. Vocabulary of terms is included.

ACT-R in Pogamut
Zemčák, Lukáš ; Hoffmann, Petr (referee) ; Brom, Cyril (advisor)
How can be brain organized to enable cognition? Adaptive Control of Thought{Rational (ACT-R) is a cognitive architecture, trying to answer that question. It is inspired by Fodor modular architecture of mind and current advancements in field of cognitive neuroscience. It is often useful to investigate behavior of cognitive architectures on virtual beings. Pogamut is a platform project designed to simplify creation and tuning of artificial beings. Pogamut is using game Unreal Tournament 2004 as its virtual world. First part of work deals with ACT-R theory and its explanation of human mind, second part introduces Pogamut and third describes implementation of ACT-R plugin into Pogamut.

On measures of biodiversity and their applications
Horáček, Martin ; Klebanov, Lev (referee) ; Zvárová, Jana (advisor)
In the present work we study problems that are connected to measures of biodiversity. Our approach to these problems is based on theory of information, namely on so called generalized entropies, also known as f-entropies. If we add a restriction on these f-entropies, we receive a set of functions that we call f-diversities, which satisfy usual requirements for functions that are intended to measure biodiversity. Moreover, we show that many measures of diversity that are used in practice are either f-diversities or continuous functions of some f-diversity. We study various measures of diversity and we investigate whether they can or can not be included in this framework. We introduce a concept that can be used to evaluate sensitivity to changes of various measures of diversity. This concept might be useful to study behavior of different measures of biodiversity. We also study issues connected to estimates of biodiversity measures and we investigate some types of estimates. For one type we present a slightly modified approach that can result in better estimates for some measures. We focus on theoretical investigation of measures of diversity, however most of our results are practically applicable.

Realism in international relations (application on selected aspects of Slovak foreign policy)
Čevela, David ; Dubský, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Rolenc, Jan Martin (referee)
The thesis describes one of the main theories of international relations - realism. The theoretical part focuses on presenting the basic axioms of realism and specific position of small states in international relations as compared to large states. In the application part the realism is applied on some aspects of foreign policy of Slovak Republic accenting its relations to EU, NATO and neighboring countries.
