Předmětem této bakalářské práce je jedna z ústředních teorii mezinárodních vztahů - realismus. V teoretické části práce jsou popisovány základní realistické axiomy s důrazem na specifika postavení malých států v mezinárodních vztazích ve srovnání se státy velkými. Aplikace realismu je provedena na příkladu Slovenské republiky se zaměřením na některé vybrané aspekty její politiky a to převážně na vztahy k EU, NATO a sousedním zemím. The thesis describes one of the main theories of international relations - realism. The theoretical part focuses on presenting the basic axioms of realism and specific position of small states in international relations as compared to large states. In the application part the realism is applied on some aspects of foreign policy of Slovak Republic accenting its relations to EU, NATO and neighboring countries.
