Modelling and Using of McKibben Pneumatic Muscle in Haptic
Kopečný, Lukáš ; Janotková, Eva (referee) ; Nevřiva,, Pavel (referee) ; Šolc, František (advisor)
This work describes exceptional properties of McKibben pneumatical muscle and introduces its state-of-the-art model. The mathematical model is extended especially in a field of a thermodymical behavior. A new model applies a method used for describing of a thermodynamical behavior of pneumatic cylinders until now. This method is significantly upgraded to fit a muscle behavior, particularly by considering a heat generated by a muscle internal natural friction. The model is than verified and discussed with a real system. The haptic part introduces a development and design of a haptic glove interface for the use in robotics, especially in telepresence, or in VR. The force and touch feedback is provided by Pneumatic Muscles controlled by an open loop algorithm using the introduced mathematical model. The design is light and compact.

Psychological novel as compared with novel of Socialistic Realism in the literary work of Václav Řezáč
ŠÍMOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis is focused on Václav Řezáč's novel interpretation. To be more specific, it deals with the formation of the psychological novels (Černé světlo, Svědek, Rozhraní) and novels called as constructive novels (unfinished trilogy Nástup and Bitva). Although all of these works were created gradually over fifteen years, a contemporary situation was developing in the meantime as well. That's why we can find ourselves in two different state systems and in two different period atmospheres which significantly influenced the former art. The essential default method is a new historicism which is enriched by hermeneutic approaches.

Poetry of Ludvík Kundera
Hubená, Ester ; Bílek, Petr (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)
The thesis focuses on the poetry of Ludvík Kundera. It introduces his work in chronological order and within the contemporary literary-historical framework. The analysis and the interpretation of his early poems often refer to the war period. Language and its potentiality are a main concern in Kundera's other work. His poetry is defined in the context of avant-garde modern art: surrealism, dadaism and expressionism. The thesis researches the impact of Brecht's poetics on Kundera, too. It also introduces the persona of the artist, who significantly contributed to forming the Czech literary field during the second half of the 20th century. Kundera's poetry relates to Czech and foreign artists and their works. The poems rise from ordinary occasions, as well as showing the poet's intertextual approach. Experimentation, wordplay, lyrical humour and irony are an inherent part of Ludvík Kundera's work.

Zlepšování učinnosti prevence v telemedicíně
Nálevka, Petr ; Svátek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Berka, Petr (referee) ; Štěpánková, Olga (referee) ; Šárek, Milan (referee)
This thesis employs data-mining techniques and modern information and communication technology to develop methods which may improve efficiency of prevention oriented telemedical programs. In particular this thesis uses the ITAREPS program as a case study and demonstrates that an extension of the program based on the proposed methods may significantly improve the program's efficiency. ITAREPS itself is a state of the art telemedical program operating since 2006. It has been deployed in 8 different countries around the world, and solely in the Czech republic it helped prevent schizophrenic relapse in over 400 participating patients. Outcomes of this thesis are widely applicable not just to schizophrenic patients but also to other psychotic or non-psychotic diseases which follow a relapsing path and satisfy certain preconditions defined in this thesis. Two main areas of improvement are proposed. First, this thesis studies various temporal data-mining methods to improve relapse prediction efficiency based on diagnostic data history. Second, latest telecommunication technologies are used in order to improve quality of the gathered diagnostic data directly at the source.

Bouška, Ondřej ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor) ; Silverio, Robert (referee)
The way of portraying statesmen, that we got intimately acquainted with throughout the 20th century, must be seen in connection with the genre artists have been concerned with since the beginnings of the figurative art. The main topic of this study is the chronological development within which the preceding periods have impact on the following periods. The thesis also reveals significant parallels in the area of formal part of statesmen's and rulers' imaging and the way deities, gods and the God are imaged, i.e. the highest divine authorities, supposing the similarities between these genres are not random. Requisites for portraying leaders of empires and states resulted in defining almost a unified style of such portrayals, which was broken and significantly changed only by the emergence of photography. The new aesthetics and typology of photography imaging brings about new ways of portraying statesmen at the beginning of the 20th century, which are nevertheless influenced by tradition and which thus take the tradition into account.

Murdzová, Alexandra ; Černá, Jitka (advisor) ; Zamazalová, Marcela (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to draw attention to possibilities of presentation of arts in the public space and its benefit for Arts and cultural organisations marketing. The thesis concentrates on the area of Statutory city of Brno and provides both evaluation of benefits of selected implemented events and results of my own marketing research. In the introductory part of the thesis, there are some important theoretical expresions and contexts explained. Furtheremore, there are described possibilities of elimination of barriers of both the access and approach of the public to arts through their presentation in the public space. An important part of the thesis deals with presentation of arts in the space of shopping centre Galerie Vaňkovka Brno and provides particular examples which demonstrate benefits of cooperation of a shopping centre with individual artists or cultural institutions. The most significant point of the thesis is the marketing research conducted among visitors to Galerie Vaňkovka. On the sample of 200 respondents I examined how the visitors to Galerie Vaňkovka perceive presentation of arts in the space of shopping centre. The conclusion which I reached is that presentation of arts in such spaces can support significantly the marketing of arts and cultural institutions.

Bengali scroll painting
Šimečková, Klára ; Knížková, Hana (advisor) ; Preinhaelterová, Hana (referee) ; Zbavitel, Dušan (referee)
The dissertation thesis analyzes the scroll paintings of the Bengali patua community. The definition of traditional and new forms of this art is based on the results of an extensive field research in West Bengal, documentation of museums and private collections, and relevant studies published on the subject. Bengali scroll paintings represent an indigenous tradition in the whole of the Indian narrative paintings. Narrative elements have been present in the Indian religious art since ancient times. The thesis first focuses on the history of the scroll painting in India, which is, however, hard to reconstruct due to the lack of material as well as text sources. Next the thesis concentrates on the Bengali region, where the scroll paintings have been collected and examined only since the twenties and the thirties of the 20th century. At this time, the authentic patua art of the region was already significantly impaired, because the original social and economic ties were breaking down, and the scroll painters were loosing the audience that had supported them. The work exemplifies that even though the patua art was, in its original meaning, inseparably combining visual, verbal and dramatic components (a painting, an accompanying song and a performance); during the second half of the twentieth century the painting...

Psychoneuroimmunology of alexithymia
Uher, Tomáš ; Bob, Petr (advisor) ; Boleloucký, Zdeněk (referee) ; Smolík, Petr (referee)
Alexithymia represents a deficit in identifying and expressing emotions, paucity of fantasies, and an externally oriented cognitive style. Currently, numerous studies document that alexithymia and several mental and somatic disorders are significantly related. Several findings also indicate that this association might be caused by alexithymia related dysregulation of neuroendocrine and immune functions. Together these findings indicate that stressors related to alexithymia could underlie the process of neuroendocrine and immune dysregulation that likely may present a significant risk, sustaining and mediating pathogenesis of several disorders and particulary psychosomatic illnesses. In this context, it is also known that several proinflammatory cytokines may play a role in pain generation and that alexithymia is significantly associated with pain symptoms in several pain disorders. Following these findings this study includes several new data developing current state of the art and showing some alexithymia specific changes in patients with neurological disorders. Main finding of this study shows that alexithymia and anxiety in their specific interactions are linked to increased levels of interleukine-8 (IL-8) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the group of patients with non-inflammatory neurological...
