Studying of atorvastatin effects lipid profile in mice models of atherosclerosis.
Slanařová, Martina ; Nachtigal, Petr (advisor) ; Hyšpler, Radomír (referee)
Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease of blood vessels with a successive, very slow progress which takes many years and ,,plugs"disabled vessels. Faults and changes in representation and quantity of lipoproteins are for this disease very typical. In human medicine is mostly used medication Statins during a therapy of dyslipoproteinemia. The aim is this thesis was to describe the changes of biochemical lipoproteins levels at the various mice models of atherosclerosis. Furthermore we wanted to describe the changes lipids after administering of atorvastatin in apoE-defitient mice and apoE/LDLr-deficient mice. Female of apoE-deficient mice and apoE/LDLr-deficient mice were divided into a control and with atorvastatin treated group, where atorvastatin was administered in a period of 8 weeks in a dose of 100 mg/kg mouse. Biochemical analysis of lipids was performed by a separation method of lipoproteins by means of ultracentrifugal technique. Biochemical analysis of blood of apoE-deficient mice demonstrated, that 8 weeks atorvastatin treatment in a dose of 100 mg/kg significantly increased levels of total cholesterol, VLDL, LDL and HDL cholesterol. The blood analysis of apoE/LDLr-deficient mice demonstrated, that 8 weeks long treatment with atorvastatin in the same doses significantly reduced...

Matějka, Jakub ; Cahlíková, Lucie (advisor) ; Siatka, Tomáš (referee)
Matějka, J. Biologically active metabolites of the plants. 8. Alkaloids of Macleaya cordata and their biological activity. Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Pharmaceutical Botany and Ecology. Hradec Králové, 2011. Diploma thesis. 69 p. The aim of this work was to chromatografically analyze the total alkaloid extract of the plant Macleaya cordata, to separate at least one alkaloid in pure form and to determine its inhibition activity towards acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase and also its antioxidant activities. Using the column chromatography method, we obtained three alkaloids from the total extract. The first substance was named JM1 and on the basis of its MS and NMR analyses it was identified as dihydrosanguinarine. The other two substances were in a similar way identified as protopine and allocryptopine. In all separated substances we measured their inhibition activity towards human erythrocyte acetylcholinesterase and human plasma butyrylcholinesterase. We obtained following IC50 values: dihydrosanguinarine: IC50 (HuAChE) > 1000 µM, IC50 (HuBuChE) > 1000 µM; protopine: IC50 (HuAChE) = 345,4 ± 18,1 µM, IC50 (HuBuChE) = 239,6 ± 10,2 µM; allocryptopine: IC50 (HuAChE) = 114,4 ± 3,2 µM, IC50 (HuBuChE) = 655,7 ± 12,0 µM. All the separated...

Abundance of the barbel, Barbus barbus in the river Jihlava
Peňáz, Milan ; Pivnička, K. ; Prokeš, Miroslav ; Baruš, Vlastimil
A four-year experiment with a total of 993 individually tagged barbel, Barbus barbus, resulted in the assessment of survival and abundance. The Jolly-Seber method was used to estimate abundance from autumn 1999 to spring 2001 (minimum 233, maximum 563 ind./ha). The mean annual survival rate was 0.862, but the partial values assessed separately for seasons (spring - autumn and autumn - spring) differed considerably and the possible reasons for this phenomenon are discussed. On the basis of known survival rate, the abundance was subsequently estimated (for the entire studied stretch and per hectare) using the Petersen capture-recapture method for the period spring 1999 to autumn 2001. Its mean values reached 303 +- 110 ind./ha (minimum 195, maximum 498 ind./ha). These results were in autumn 2001 supported by another simultaneously conducted census following the removal method by Zippin (316 ind./ha).

Taxi and tax burden of the Czech Republic
Říhová, Barbora ; Havlík, Radomír (referee) ; Tichá, Milena (advisor)
This Bachelor's Thesis deals with the taxes and tax burden of the Czech Republic in comparison to states of the European Union. The thesis is separated into four main parts. In the first chapter the concept of taxes is defined, in the second chapter focuses on the system of taxation whereas special attention is drawn to the system of taxation of the Czech Republic. The themes of the third chapter are historical evolution of the tax theory in the relation to taxation and total tax burden of the Czech Republic and states of the European Union. The fourth chapter analyzes the status of the Czech Republic among the states of the European Union on the basis of effective approach to taxation.

Long-term changes of selected stratospheric fields related to circulation and enhancing greenhouse effect
Kozubek, Michal ; Halenka, Tomáš (referee) ; Laštovička, Jan (advisor)
In the present work we study behavior and trends of stratospheric wind in period of 1957-2002. We used reanalyzed daily data from project ERA-40. Results are shown in graphic form for 3 atmospheric levels. In each level we describe trends of wind velocities and directions separate into 2 seasons. We also compare trends of stratospheric wind with other characteristic indicators of atmospheric circulation. One of them is total columnar ozone and the second is mesopause midlatitude winds. Results of analyze halving adjustment of trends in wind directions and velocities for level 100, 50 and 10 hPa, too.

Spatial survey of asset utilization of european companies in 2006
Večerek, Petr ; Marek, Petr (advisor) ; Makovec, Martin (referee)
The content of this thesis is the processing and evaluation of asset utilization ratios of individual components of assets by indicators of total assets turnover, fixed assets turnover, current assets turnover, inventory turnover, accounts receivable turover, creditors turnover and trade deficit. Thesis concerns industry companies from the European Union. Data are from 2006. The values were analyzed separately for all indicators, but with an accent on the greatest complexity. High values of turnover were mostly found in Germany, Ireland and the Nordic countries. Conversely, low values are in all the southern countries and Lithuania. Among the sectors with smallest turnovers are B "Fishing and fish farming" and E "Electricity, gas and water supply". The highest values of turnover were often calculated in sectors DA "Manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco" and DF "Manufacture of coke, refined petroleum products and nuclear fuel". The values of Czech republic varied just slightly above average, but in the vast majority of indicators.

Survey of patiens treated for fracture of the produmal humerus in the zdar 2005
Urban, Jiří ; Frič, Vladimír (advisor)
The topic of his thesis , A survey of patients treated for fractures in the proximal humerus in 2005 I chose based on your interests the field of orthopedics and traumatology . Fractures of the proximal humerus are among the four most common fracture. In 2005, the Department of Orthopaedics - Traumatology Clinic FNKV treated a total of 224 cases of these fractures. While the treatment of stable and minimally displaced fractures is quite unproblematic and can handle and conservative treatment of unstable , vícefragmentových and fracture-dislocations is complicated and still not fully resolved traumatology . The aim of this work was to evaluate patients treated at the Orthopedic - Traumatology Clinic FNKV for fractures of the proximal humerus in 2005. I started out a questionnaire that was completed by the attending physician for each fracture separately. The questionnaire asked for age and sex of the patient , the circumstances of the accident, type fracture, method of treatment , indications and types of operations

The office spaces development in Prague after 1989
Císař, Milan ; Heřmanová, Eva (advisor) ; Sýkora, Luděk (referee)
In the nineties of the twentieth century the Prague office space market looked totally different from its current situation. The demand significantly exceeded the supply on the market and there was an entire lack of high-quality office places, which were built mostly in the city centre. There were predominating small projects of office and residential reconstructions which were limited by historical monument regulation and lack of space in the city centre. As of now the supply is prevailing on the Prague office space market and the situation for developers and tenants has totally changed. The competition of developers has rapidly increased and further increase is expectable. The development of new office buildings has moved from the city centre to the inner and outer city and the developers have focused on the multifunctional complexes, conversion of brownfields and construction of large city districts instead of separate office buildings. Prague office development is comparable with the development in Budapest and Warsaw. Commercialization of the city centre and suburbanization is even typical for all four capital cities in Central and Eastern Europe.

Character and characterisation in Czech novel in the fifties
Sladký, Pavel ; Šrámek, Petr (advisor) ; Bílek, Petr (referee)
My Diploma work, entitled Character and Characterization In The Czech Socialist Realism Novel In The 50th ofThe 20th Century analyses the prose ofthe darkest times ofthe czechoslovak totalitarian regime. I focused on a so called constructive novel (budovatelský román, dealing with contemporary problems of rebuilding the society) and stories from a recent history, which came about e.g. during the times ofWorld War II. Second chapter's subject is the socialist thinking about literature. There I focused on a character itself, which was one of the most important literary categories at that time. Character helped the readers to overgo aesthetic distance in the relation to the text and to authentify the worldmaking model of a fiction. Cognitive possibilities and didactic demands on a prose were the most important things for a conception of art in the czech fifties. The incongruence of a categorization and personalization (terms introduced by Ralf Schneider) in characterization and separateness of ideological scheme and personal individualization were the reasons why the constructive novels were so schematic. In the third chapter I analyse concrete characters and symptomatic situations. For a novel in the fifties the most important thing was to pIan the ideological conf1icts and alterocharacterization schemes -...
