International regulation of hand weapons business
Krbaťová, Anna ; Šturma, Pavel (advisor) ; Ondřej, Jan (referee)
74 On the global level, there is a UN Programme of Action which was created at the 2001 UN Conference. The POA is not binding, is very wide in its scope and supposes the main activities at the national level. It is meant as a set of principles which are to be realized step by step by regional initiatices and states. Based on the POA, a draft of a global Arms Trade Treaty has been prepared. There is no agreement yet on the scope and parameters of the ATT. Actually, it is still not clear whether the UN member states will support it. The Secretary General asked states for their position to the feasibility, scope and parameters of a potential ATT. Although only 100 states submitted their positions, there was a general agreement on the feasibility of the ATT. Followingly, an Open-Ended Working Group has been appointed in 2008 to find provisions to which the states could possibly comply to. This Group will meet three times in 2009 and then submit their findings to the General Assembly. At the same time there is a strong support for the ATT from civil society and especially the network of non-governmental organizations which prepared the Working draft of the Framework Convention on Arms Transfers. There are three possibilities of future development of the ATT: 1. ATT will be approved as a global treaty consisting...

Metamorphosis of the feminine body in the contemporary French literature
Grochol, Jana ; Jamek, Václav (referee) ; Voldřichová - Beránková, Eva (advisor)
The present study focuses on the problematics of perception of the bodily image as it appears in a women-written corpus. The theme of the metamorphosing female body has been investigated in three contemporary French novels : Biographie de Za faim by Amélie Nothomb, Truismes by Marie Darrieussecq and Rosie Carpe by Marie NDiaye. All written by female authors around the same age, these novels report on what it is like being a woman in a postmodern world. The female heroes are confronted with their own bodily self and the long-standing tradition of a male-dominated society. These testimonies, that comprise traumatising bodily experiences and difficult relationships with others, contribute to forge the feminine identity. The three female protagonists of the investigated corpus embark on an identity quest. They struggle against the established order to find their place in the society. Nothomb's narrator thematizes the difficult passage from a child to an adult body which imposes the body /mind separation on women. She perceives this transformation as a traumatizing experience of loss and denies it by confining her body. In a revulsion towards the adult female body anorexia is an attempt to defeat abjection. The hero of Truismes, on the other hand, constitutes an incarnation of the abject body. Providing a...

The Impact of Internet on the Information Society
Aksamitová, Magda ; Pavlíček, Antonín (advisor) ; Kašparová, Eva (referee)
This paper is based on the spatial theory of information society, more precisely on the work of S. Sassen and M. Castells. This theory is introduced in the first part of this paper. The main goal of the work is to perform statistical analyses of empirical data, which are mostly from international institutions, for each region and in this way to examine the universal validity of hypotheses about the impact of the internet on the economic performance, as well as spatial transformation. While in all regions the correlation between internet and GDP per capita was proved, the hypothesis connected with spatial transformation was not proved. Because of this is has been suggested to further examine the reasons behind the transformation of urban structure in the information society.

How to Prepare a Stage Game for the Integrated Group of Children
Kleinová, Jana ; Ortová, Marie (advisor) ; Růžička, Vít (referee)
In this seminar I give examples of how to prepare a summer camp for integrated groups of children. There are three parts. In the first part you can find general information on how to prepare a summer camp, more specific information being in the section on specialized literature. The second part deals with the special needs of handicapped children, how to build a suitable environment to meet their physical and mental development needs, which will allow for growth and expression, as well as for non- handicapped children, and allow for friendship and positive interaction between handicapped and non- handicapped children. In the third and main part of this seminar, I describe, day by day, a multi-stage game for integrated groups of children. In this game handicapped children can show their abilities, knowledge, and are given the chance to gain self-confidence. To children without handicaps the game brings knowledge of handicapped children's lives, and helps to develop understanding. Also, it focuses on the physical development of the children, and helps build awareness of life in their country. This helps to decrease the distance between handicapped people and the rest of society. Public attitudes towards people with handicaps are full of misunderstanding and apathy. The purpose of integrated summer camp is...

Buzková, Jana ; Vorlová, Marie (advisor) ; Mašát, Vladimír (referee)
The motherhood is the most beautiful period of live for most of mothers. The possibility to have a baby and be with him every time is the best what they can have, but this period is no only beautiful, happy time. A lot of mothers, who are on a maternity leave, can have several problems, which can make mothers' lives less happy and beautiful and sometimes very sad and lonely. The situation in our society seems to be better for singles or people without children. They can better do their own career; they can better work, than mothers with babies. That is why they are in public opinion " more useful" than families with children. When a woman have a baby, it is more difficult to find a job for her, because nobody (almost) wants to employ a woman with small child, who will be probably ill very often and the woman will have to be at home with him. The situation of mothers with babies is not very good sometimes for those who are at home and do not find a job, too. It is difficult to go somewhere with baby-coach or with crying baby. It can happen, that these mothers have to hear, their child is noisy and they baby-coach takes a lot of space, from people around. The possibility of meeting other adults is less then it was before. There is small possibility to go to a theatre, a cinema, a gallery, as well. The fact,...
