Global economic recession on trhe market for secondary raw materials and its solutions with the view of institutional analysis
Osersová, Marta ; Slavík, Jan (advisor) ; Šeflová, Jitka (referee)
At the end of 2008, the sector of secondary raw materials, as well as a major part of other sectors of economy, has been hit by a global economical recession. In comparison with usual incidences as sales, employment or payment problems, the recession had here, nevertheless, one specificity -- impact upon environment. The secondary raw materials are used to be employed by the manufacturers to the production of goods provided their price is lower than this of primary commodities. However, in the said period, consumer demand and production decreased, and in this consequence also prices of primary raw materials diminished heavily. Thereby the market of secondary raw materials practically stopped. But it was not possible to stop also their production, because recycling, process of secondary raw materials manufacture, is compulsory in the EU countries. Due to this situation, fears on the collapse of the whole system of waste separation occurred, but also different proposals for solutions of this problem appeared. Although the situation on the market for secondary raw materials in the latest months starts to be stabilized, this problem is always actual and that's why it became also theme of this dissertation. Thus, this diploma paper's objective is to make an attempt to characterize the current situation in the market for secondary raw materials with the exploitation of the institutional analysis and, subsequently, to examine its changes evoked by the introduction of the "anti-crisis" measures. The practical part of these theses is based on the application of the method developed by proprietress of the Nobel Prize for economy for 2009, Elinor Ostrom, and her colleagues at Indiana University, so-called IAD Framework -- Institutional Analysis and Development Framework. This selected research method is relatively unknown in our place and so a quite new and authentic view at this whole matter can be therefore expected.

Loan Book Credit Risk Stress Testing - Survey on Practice in the Czech Republic
Argayová, Šárka ; Pečená, Magda (advisor) ; Kubíček, Martin (referee)
Stress testing is a general term for framework that assesses possible impact of an adverse shock on the financial health and a capital adequacy of a bank, other financial institution or the whole financial system. Because credit risk is typically the most important risk of a bank and many international surveys describe the credit risk stress testing as one of the least developed, it became the main topic of this thesis. Credit risk stress testing methods developed in the last years very dynamically especially thanks to the requirements on stress testing under the Basel II regulatory framework and a fact that further improvement of these methods is expected to ensure higher financial stability of institutions and financial sector to adverse shocks and enable to withstand severe crisis. The thesis concentrates on the micro level stress tests that are run by each individual bank. It describes the whole credit risk stress testing procedure, Basel II regulatory requirements, the importance of this framework for an institution and offers examples of possible stress testing methods and scenarios. The first significant contribution to the topic is a survey on practice in the mayor Czech banks that analyzes whether they are influenced in their credit risk stress testing framework by their parents or the...

Monitoring of oxidative stability of products from shell fruits
Krňávková, Martina ; Hrstka, Miroslav (referee) ; Vítová, Eva (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the monitoring of oxidative stability of products, oils and butter, from nut fruits. The theoretical part concentrates on the topic of nut fruits, their properties, compositions which are closely related to the effects on the human health and the possibilities of technological processing. The lipid storage process, especially the most frequently occurring autooxidation reactions are described, followed by experimental part of the thesis. The changes in coconut, walnut, peanut oils and peanut butter samples are monitored during storage at 4 ° C and 20 ° C by determining the acid value, the peroxide value and the fatty acid composition by the GC-FID method. The lowest oxidation stability showed walnut oil due to the highest content of unstable polyunsaturated fatty acids – up to 88,7 %. During storage at 20 ° C there was a statistically significant increase in the content of primary oxidation products, determined as peroxide value PV = 2,55 ± 0,12 µgROOHg-1. An increase was also observed in samples of peanut butter, but it was mainly due to higher water activity, which is important for chemical reactions. The durability of this product after opening mentioned on the product label correlates with their low stability

The optimization and validation of HPLC method for determination of triamcinolone acetonide in topical pharmaceutical product
Krivda, Anton ; Matysová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Nováková, Lucie (referee)
Author: Krivda A. Title: The optimalisation and validation of HPLC method for determination of triamcinolone acetonide in topical pharmaceutical product Language: Czech Keywords: HPLC Triamcinolone acetonide Triamcinolone Methylparaben Propylparaben Validation A novel reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method was developed and validated for the determination of active component triamcinolone acetonide, its degradation product triamcinolone and two preservatives presented in the cream - methylparaben and propylparaben, using estradiole as an internal standard. The chromatographic separation was performed on a Supelco Discovery HSF5 column. The mobile phase for separation of all compounds consists of a mixture of acetonitrile and water (45:55 v/v). The analysis time was less than 9 minutes, at a flow rate of 0,6 ml/min and detection at 240 nm. The method was found to be appicable for routine analysis (stability tests, homogeneity) in the pharmaceutical product topical cream Triamcinolone cream 0,1%.

Supercomplexes in the respiratory chain of mitochondria
Mikulová, Tereza ; Holzerová, Kristýna (referee) ; Houštěk, Josef (advisor)
Mitochondria are very important organelles of eukaryotic cell. In mitochondria, there are located many metabolic reactions including oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS). In this process, respiratory chain enzyme complexes couple the oxidation of NADH and FADH2 to vectorial proton transport across the inner mitochondrial membrane. ATP synthase then uses the resulting electrochemical potential to synthesize ATP from ADP and phosphate. Recent studies of the OXPHOS demonstrate higher structures of complexes so-called supercomplexes which facilitate substrate channeling. Formation of supercomplexes plays a role in the assembly and stability of the complexes, suggesting that the supercomplexes are the functional state of the respiratory chain.

Insufficient delimitation of rights of ownership and its contexture on blood diamonds
Reif, František ; Antoš, Ondřej (advisor) ; Chalupníček, Pavel (referee)
This work investigates how the delimitation of rights of ownership influences economic and political stabilities of the country which is characterized by large mineral riches, particularly by diamonds. Theoretical part of the work is summarizing actual knowledge of several important economists in a spere of juridical delimitation of the private ownership and its subsequent protection. Precisely existence of this two elements is a condition for stability of economy, its long-term qrowth and entire welfare of society. In a practical part of the work these theoretical conclusions are applied to problems of so-called blood diamonds, existence of which was caused patricularly by absence of private ownership and its protection in quite a number of African countries. The closing part of the work is answering the query if a Kimberley's process, which tried to solve problems of blood diamonds, can from the long-term point of view represent an insurance against their prospective further revert to the world-wide markets.

Aspects of financing the LBO acquisitions
Durdil, Lukáš ; Jílek, Josef (advisor) ; Rybáček, Václav (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the acquisition of companies by means of the Leveraged Buyout (LBO) method. This method differs in many respects from the standards M&A. This work examines the specific features of the given business transactions from the viewpoint of the target companies, procedures and entities involved in these transactions. As the key element of the LBO method is the debt financing of the acquisition, the work also deals with this aspect and evaluates the positions of the creditors from the viewpoint of the influence on the stability of the financial system. The thesis further analyses the question whether the LBO method has an effect leading to an increased effectiveness of processes in a company, or whether, conversely, the proceeds of acquisition investors are a consequence of a transfer of values from other entities. The text is based on available theoretical and empirical sources which are supplemented by the author's analyses.
